AJ Styles is in the backstage area of a small arena wheeling his luggage behind him. He looks around for the locker room, and notices a couple of guys testing out camera equipment nearby. They look young and inexperienced, maybe in their mid to late 20s. It's obvious that this is one of their first shows they've worked on. AJ is about to go ask them where the men's locker room is, but as he approaches, one of the camera guys sticks the camera in his face.
Camera Guy 1: This is Nick reporting live backstage with AJ Styles. AJ, what do you think of the arena? Have you ever done house shows before?
The second guy looks at Nick and back to AJ and rolls his eyes. AJ smiles and shakes his head, remembering all about the house shows and how they get the more inexperienced camera crews to work them.
Camera Guy 2: Dude, of course he has! What kind of question is that? Besides, the damn thing isn't even on!
Nick checks the camera, says something unable to be repeated and turns the camera on.
Nick: AJ, who are you facing here tonight and what are your thoughts?
The other camera guy again rolls his eyes at Nick, but AJ takes advantage of the opportunity to share his thoughts and give these kids a good piece of footage.
AJ Styles: I came here tonight to face Mike Bradley. A man I don't know much about, nor faced in the ring before. He's new to the business, but that doesn't mean that I can take it easy out there. Oh no! If anything, those are the guys you have to watch out for even more. I've seen his matches before, and he's definitely got potential. He's got the desire, the drive, the passion...All the pieces to make the puzzle complete. There's just one thing missing for Mr. Bradley and that's the stepping stone. The one event that happens to make people really take notice.
Tonight, Mike Bradley is probably looking to make this his stepping stone. To make a name off of defeating AJ Styles. Well, Mike, I'd hate to burst that little bubble of yours, but you're going to have to wait a little longer to bathe in those bright lights of success.
I didn't get to where I am now without stepping up the ladder, but with each step up, I left that ring with a lot more pain and respect for the business. I wasn't going out there to earn my 15 minutes of fame, I was going out there to show every single person who bought tickets to that show who I am and what I'm capable of both in and out of the ring.
When all is said and done Mike, I have no doubt that you will be at the top one day. But I am the GZWA Television Champion and tonight you're going to be just one more guy who learns why I deserve to hold this championship.
AJ starts walking away, and looks over his shoulder to see the guys reaction to what they just heard. Then, he gets an idea and walks back to the camera.
AJ Styles: Oh, and uhh...Mr. Bradley? If you don't know...now you know!
AJ rolls his eyes at his opponent's cheesy tagline and then grabs his bag to look for the locker room.
