Danielle Bradley is working out at her gym, doing pull-ups with no one else in the room and no music playing. She jumps down from the bar and glares at the camera.
“Just one more match. One more match, and I finally get to show first hand that I am the superior wrestler in my family, and take my brother’s Television Title in the process.”
“Mike talks about facing obstacle after obstacle in GZWA - the screwjobs, the poor bookings, blah blah blah. You want to talk about obstacles, Mike? How about the fact that I’m barely noticed around here? I’ve been booked in your corner more often than in the ring! But now Z has finally wised up, and he’s signed your death wish when it comes to your title reign. I’m winning this Battle Royal, and nobody’s going to stand in my way.”
“Not Leon Torres, who’s too busy talking baby talk to his wife and kid to prepare for this match. Seriously, who names their kid Dash? Idiots.”
“Not Victor Phillips, who’s been out of the game too long and won’t be able to shake off the ring rust in time for me to run circles around him. You’re not getting past me, old timer!”
“Not the inferior mortal Double S, who couldn’t cut it in his quest for the World Heavyweight Championship and now finds himself in a sea of challengers for the Television Title. Look, man, you thought AJ Styles was a challenge? Imagine what you’re going to feel when you’re facing seven other wrestlers at the same time - including myself. Prepare for more disappointment!”
“Not Keri Cruz, some unknown diva who’s greener than... what? That’s a guy’s name? Seriously? Well, for someone so new to the game, it shouldn’t be a surprise that no one knows who he is.”
“And certainly not the ‘high-flying extremist,’ Enigma. In the immortal words of the Reading Rainbow theme song, I can go twice as high, mother fucker. Take a look, it’s in a book...”
Danielle shudders.
“Did I really just say that? Christ, my brother’s promos are rubbing off on me.”
She towels off and heads to the shower, but before she does, she turns to the camera one last time.
“Oh, and Mike, I know you’ll be ringside for the match... watch a real wrestler eliminate all those other chumps and then tell me you’re not scared of what’s coming to you at Slammiversary. See you later, little brother...”
Danielle laughs and closes the door to the locker room.
