After thinking about it long and hard, I finally decided how I want to run this all-female tournament next month (December).
As it stands, first come first serve to GZWA Vixens under contract followed by any past/former Vixens willing to participate as long as they left the federation under good terms.
That being said, I am accepting/allowing guest-starring women from other e-federations to take place in this too since I want to do the entire tournament on one show. I don't want to do like how WWE did with the CWC where they dragged it out on months on end. We went through that mess with the Tag Team Tournament over the last two years and I think this would be a better format, especially for our guests.
For now, I'm allowing only ONE entry per handler. Unless we end up with an odd number and need to fill up the brackets that's what I'm going with to make this fair.
That being said, there's going to be an unique RP limitation for this. Since it's a tournament format but no one will know who's winning their matches until the final results go up, so in this rare occurrence, I'm going to ask for potentially multiple promos from those participating with the off-chance of not all of your promos will be included in the results if you don't advance.
If you're confused, don't worry. It'll make sense once I get all of the participants accounted for and I get the tournament brackets set up. So you'll know who you'll be potentially facing as the tournament goes if you advance for you can tailor your promos as such.
To be fair to everyone participating, I'm going to set a word limit of 400 to 800 words per promo. I'm leaning towards 400-600 since I'm asking for multiple promos from those participating but I'll come to a decision by the time that we have a set number of entries.
If you know anyone outside of GZWA who would be interested in being a part of this, feel free to tell them to shoot me a DM on Twitter or contact me here. I'll be constantly updating this topic over the next few weeks leading up to the event to keep you all updated on the rules and sign-up information.
In terms of match writing, I'm going to take that task on my own and to be fair, I'm NOT entering any of my ladies in this event (outside of the exhibition matches) unless we need some filler or alternates in terms of no-shows in the brackets.
If you want to discuss the event or ask questions, feel free to reply to this thread below.
(UPDATE 11/30/16)
The official date for the Reina de Reinas 2016 event will be on December 23, 2016. As an avid fan of women's wrestling, I want this to be an early Christmas present to myself so I'm settling on that date as I'll have that week off for work as well to devote to match writing.
For those looking to get a head start on promo and segment writing for that event, the deadlines for promos will be on Monday, December 19, 2016 and segments (COMPLETELY optional, folks) on Tuesday, December 20, 2016.
To make this easier on myself and Athena in terms of judging this contest, I'm only going to ask for ONE promo from everyone. That's it. Max length is 800 words and to clarify for those NOT in GZWA, you can either PM those promos to me here or DM to me on Twitter. I'm asking for people to send them privately as I don't want anyone to try to tailor their promos by whoever posts/submits theirs first and every promo after that ends up being a response to that and so on. That makes things a bit redundant. This way it gives you a bit more freedom creatively and eases up the pressure a bit.
One thing I must ask that EVERYONE include in these submissions is an introduction explaining who your entrant is and possibly some of her accolades. This doesn't have to be long and it's NOT part of your word count to your promo. Short sweet and to the point.
As of this writing, I'm not accepting any other women into the tournament unless we need alternates in the result of no-shows. If there's interest to enter as alternate, that is welcome - even to those handlers who have already entered one woman for the tournament.
(UPDATE 12/15/16)
As of this writing, there are two alternates replacing Brody Sparks and Celeste Bonin with Ashley Hamilton and Brooklyn Glamourous respectively.
I've been swamped with work IRL with this last week before the holidays so I wasn't able to update you guys on this information and respond to emails as quickly as I would have liked so I'm extending the deadlines for promos to the 20th. If you've already sent in your segments (optional), promos, and posted your profiles/movesets then you're good all good to go.
For those inquiring about your character "intros" that I've asked for, don't stress yourself about it. If you include it in your promos that's fine too. You don't have to write anything extra/separate. I COMPLETELY understand that people are swamped with work, final exams in school, and other misc. deadlines from other federations that our guest stars are active in.
I'm officially done with work for remainder of 2016 after today, so if you have any concerns or questions, I'll get with you ASAP following today.
