Sorry for the delay on this thread. I've had it saved in Google Docs for a week and a half now and finally remembered to post it since I got this week off from work.
Opening Segment between Bradley Clan, The Machine, Casey Cortez, Carnage, and The Doombringer
The Bradley Clan ❤Rose❤ and The Legendary Doombringer all did their thing after I charted this segment out with a general outline on where we were going with this. Carnage was unable to contribute, so I filled in Morrigan's dialogue to improvise. I thought the whole thing came out nicely.
GZWA Tag Team Champions Bobbi Jackson & The Frosts def. Knightmare Inc.
❤Knightmare INC cooked up the name for Chance and Jayson last week while I was working on results, so I just shoehorned it in. Pretty straight forward match, just wanted to convey Jayson and Chance trying to win by any means necessary as the heels here. Bobbi Jackson and TheFrosts asked me to give them some competition as they want to defend the titles with pride against all comers now that the Stardom Tag Classic is over.
Segment #1
Mainly playing up something me and sarahrichardson started on Twitter while having MiMi comment on recent events in GZWA since she hasn't been around on TV much lately.
Justin Lockhart def. Amanda Cortez
senorvinnie handled this one and added the post match bit. I thought it was a nice continuation of the ongoing feud between the Cortez's and Vinnie with Justin.
Crystal Hilton def. Mariah, Zora Graysen, Ashleigh Cash, Talia Areano, Lily Evol, Laura Jackson, and Vanessa to win the 8-Woman Battle Royal
Between this match and the main event, I think I went a little overboard on the eliminations, but in a crazy way, I’m giving myself practice for eliminations in writing a similar main event for Riot Control. There was one point where I could’ve sworn that I was having deja vu back to writing the damn Reinas results.
Still, I wanted to give all of the ladies involved something here to enjoy in the read. Look, I get a lot of the ladies spirits may be down since they didn’t perform as well as they thought that they would have during the tournament. Truth be told, there was a LOT of great writing from the ladies that entered that event. Serena and I went back and forth on a lot of those matches when we were judging and deciding the results. It hurt me just as bad that there’s only one winner from all of that. That being said, I couldn’t be prouder of the variety of female talent we have in this division and on the roster currently. Don’t concern yourself with win/lose ratios and just try to have fun. That goes not just for the ladies, but everyone on the roster. Hell, I’d be scared to look and see what Mariah’s win/lose ratio at this stage. (Laughs)
In terms of eliminations, I’ll explain the method to my madness from bell to bell. I wanted to write off Ashleigh and Vanessa right off the bat since Susie Price and I haven’t really discussed anything on where to go next on that feud/rivalry, so I didn’t want to drag out their eliminations. I didn’t bother writing anything for the Mega Busters anyway for this show (actually working on their apps for guest-starring in NGW’s Tag Team Series since they needed some extra bodies being one of our affiliates) so it wasn’t fair to those of you who did to not eliminate this character first.
After that Laura and Lily were eliminated. I admitted to SinCityDollz that the Lily and Laura feud is getting stale at this point and it’s beyond redundant as they are both going nowhere. I don’t want to see both handlers’ talents squandered so it’s best I figure out a new program or direction after the PPV.
Talia Areano and Mariah squaring off was to setup the match for the next Primetime while continuing to play up the storyline I have going between MiMi, Crystal, and Zora. Maybe Talia could reconsider how much she trusts Crystal as well after her behavior here? (Shrugs) I'm just giving people more to work with here. IC Zora Graysen doesn't trust sarahrichardson after her time bonding with Mariah while training together for the last few months and despite claiming to have "good" intentions, Crystal still pulled dirty tactics to eliminate both MiMi and Zora. Zora thinks that she's taking advantage of MiMi's kindness and wants to squash whatever Crystal is trying to gain from her - that's going play up into their match on the next Primetime.
Ryan Kendrick def. Senor Vinnie
It’s crazy sometimes… I wrote this match after doing everything else in the show because I was stuck on how to write this in terms of chemistry with their movesets. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not an issue with either you guys. It’s just something that I run into in terms of writer's’ block from time to time. I came back to write this after doing the main event and knew how I wanted to go about this. Vinnie got the upper hand on Lockhart earlier in the show, so to keep the feud going it would make sense for something similar would happen here only for it to backfire on Vinnie, Amanda, and Rose. I cannot stress enough when I say that don’t worry about your win/loss records here as I’m looking at the bigger picture in terms of telling the story. As a result here, Vinnie, Amanda, and Rose have a built-in feud with Justin, Kendrick, and Zabrina from the events of not only this show, but the last few broadcasts.
BTW thanks Squall Leonhart for getting that moveset up.
Legion def. The Grand Zabrina
The Grand Zabrina said it flat out on Twitter that she forgot to post her promo for the show, but that didn’t stop me from my idea that I’m going with for the “Queen Slayer” as I put her against some of the “queens” of our Women’s Division. I figured this would be a great way to keep legion in the thick of competition as she climbs through the opposition.
Segment #2
Merely a reposting of Brother Zachariah ’s promo that he posted for the show, despite not being booked for a match. Just wanted him to get credit for his work he put in here.
GZWA Television Champion Equinox def. Konrad Raab
KingOfHighSpots and "The Iceman" Konrad Raab gave it their all, so I wanted to portray that in this match with a heavy hitting affair. No extra bells and whistles here, just a straight up wrestling match.
Segment #3
Promo that ❤Rose❤ sent in for the main event. If you read the results when I originally posted them that weekend, then you missed this as I totally forgot to add this to the card when I was copying and pasting the results straight from Google Docs.
Casey Cortez is the last competitor standing in the 5v5 Elimination Tag Team Match Main Event between the Machine and the team of the Bradley Clan and Carnage
The Bradley Clan and ❤Rose❤ were the only ones who roleplayed and/or sent in something to promo for the impromptu main event that we planned as the main event for this show, so it’s natural that they would be the final two in this match. I didn’t want to sell anyone short here, so the tons of interference in this match was to draw the battlelines on who’s willing to sell their souls to the Devil so to speak and aid the Machine for their own benefit or fight against them. I wrote this keeping it all ambiguous on which side that the Doombringer was aiding as well. That’s going to be a question that will be answered sooner more than later.
Amanda, Rose, and Vinnie interfered to keep the storyline alive that Amanda is still unwillingly forced to aid the Machine as they see fit if she wishes to someday earn her freedom due to her loyal servitude. In case you forgotten or were misinformed, that’s the reason why she forfeited the title to Xion since she thought she was going to be freed from her debts, but he tricked her with the lie that caused her to vacate the title without defending it. Ryan Kendrick, Justin Lockhart, and the Grand Zabrina all got involved since they are all feuding with those three and I want that to play up into the PPV.
Knightmare Inc. is how ❤Knightmare INC put it - GZWA’s equivalent of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn’s partnership. They’ll aid the Machine as long as they see a long-term benefit from it. Wanted to play up that they were bitter about their loss, so did the attack on the Bradleys to curry a favor from the Machine for a rematch in a sense. At the same time, we get to kill two birds with one stone: 1) the other members of the Bradley Clan have a built-in feud off this 2) this gives Bobbi & the Frosts, not one but two challengers to their tag titles. Once again, I’m thinking at the long-term game here, folks.
I had the Mega Busters run-in for help to show that they are still against the Machine, even if they didn’t see eye-to-eye with the Bradley Clan a few weeks ago on their offer for an alliance. Plus their rivalry with the Enforcers never really ends, it just goes off and on throughout the years I’ve had those characters in my back pocket.
Last but not least, it was obvious that Rockett Security Inc. was jobber fodder here. I honestly thought about having two more “serious” members of the Machine but they work for moments like this where you need to feed someone to the wolves to keep the babyfaces over. It’s matches like this is why I love e-fedding. So many characters to play with in this playground in a match like this and how to fit them all together like a puzzle.
One More Order of Business...
Before I end this discussion thread, I wanted to end with why I decided to put the TV and Tag Team titles on the line during the next episode of Primetime instead of on the PPV...
I expect majority of the roster will be wanting to vie for the World Heavyweight Championship in that match (ladies you can opt out and prefer to be in the #1 contenders match for the Women's Championship FYI), much like the Aztec Warfare match on Lucha Underground. If the bulk of the roster is going to be involved then it should stretch for the duration of the PPV for realism's sake. That doesn't mean I won't have an undercard booked for this event. I'm just asking you all to trust me on this decision as I want to involve a lot of ongoing storylines in this match and make it truly something special. Writing one of these matches takes a lot of planning and charting out as it is. I'll make up for it for the titles to be back on the line on the Primetime following the PPV.
