I hope everyone had a great 4th of July yesterday and enjoyed the results. The last two weekends (and weeks for that matter) have been hectic and busy for me IRL. Just a general FYI for everyone - if I don't get back to you immediately, it's not that I'm mad at you or anything. I've had a lot going on the last two weeks - one being a last second get-together between my siblings and their families for Father's Day weekend then the past weekend with a last second baby shower from my best friend's mom having something for him and his wife that following weekend that I had to find baby stuff for (without even knowing the gender... ugh) at the last second, so that was a lot of driving around for shopping during the little time I have when I'm not working and then more driving that said weekend to the locale. All of that, along the fact that I've only had one day off for this week of the 4th, has had me just spent lately.
I'm going to take this weekend to attempt to relax while brainstorming the next card and having the forum and GZWA blog page updated by the start of next week.
For our newcomers and returning members, this is our post-show OOC discussion thread where I throw my methods to my madness when writing results.
Segment #1 - Mary Addresses the Masses
Pretty much just having Mary come out and clear the air that she's not affiliated with the Machine and it's a fresh start of sorts. The match qualifiers for the Elimination Chamber main event for Dead or Alive will start on the next Primetime. I've got an idea in my head who wants to compete in those matches, but if you want your character (just one per handler, sorry folks) to be in consideration, shoot me a PM.
I originally had Mary in my outline for this show backstage commenting on each match, but I scrapped that idea because I'm ditching the Stephanie McMahon comparisons. She's strictly business - that's it. Not trying to make her an ongoing personality. Enough of that was wasted during the Machine storyline. I rather give all of you the stage for your creativity on these results. I even joked with Athena about a segment where Mary and Serena would meet up for the first time in a long while backstage and chat over them butting heads in the past, but that got scrapped too.
Knightmare INC def. Bobbi Jackson & The Frosts to become the NEW GZWA Tag Team Champions
Bobbi Jackson said it to me after the PPV, that it was time for the champs to drop the titles. I thank Bobbi Jackson and TheFrosts for their tenure and hard work as champions and I would like to congratulate ❤Knightmare INC and Patrick on their first taste of gold in GZWA. I don't know what the former champions are going to do from here, but I have confidence that it would be well worth the journey.
Segment #2 - Carnage meets with Kris Williams and Jesse Bradley
The Bradley Clan sent this in for the show, collaborating with Carnage about the events that led to their "partnership" falling apart at Riot Control.
Segment #3 - Senor Vinnie's Championship Celebration
❤Rose❤ senorvinnie and The Bradley Clan collaborated together on this segment. I was invited to chime in with Mary, but after reading the general overview for the plan for this, I thought it was best to just keep this between these characters. I'm not trying to litter Mary all over these broadcasts.
As for this segment, it got the point across. Senor Vinnie is looking for challengers and Mike Bradley is right there to throw his name into the hat. Makes sense given that he was one of the final three competitors in the Riot Match at the PPV. Vinnie, Mike, nor Amanda knew about my announcement in the start of these results so that's why some bits of this exchange seems off. That was one oversight on my regard.
The Bradley Clan def. The Doombringer, Carnage, Casey Cortez, and Ryan Kendrick
I was going to write this as a traditional elimination match, but I got to thinking. What if Casey turns on her own team and costs them the match? It would give everyone something to go with here. Danielle Bradley is already set to feud with Crystal Hilton in some fashion coming up. Mike Bradley is obviously going for Senor Vinnie in the title hunt. So that leaves Kris and Jesse with something to shoot for. Kris and Kendrick could get a solo feud going out of this from their in-ring chemistry there at the start of this match while Carnage , The Legendary Doombringer , and Casey could do a battle of the monsters if they want to make that lead into the World title too.
So yeah in that regard, the result here wasn't no knock against anyone, just wanted to give you guys something going forward. So forgive me for my moments of insanity
Segment #4 - Raven and Amber's Speak to the Masses
This collaboration was sent in by ♡☈ɑ√əη between her and DΔShΞR . I got a good chuckle out of this seeing these two character interact. Looking forward to having you two around again.
Rose Cortez (replacing Amanda Cortez) def. Taralyn Skye
❤Rose❤ was asking me for feedback on where to take her character(s) next after the PPV and we agreed it would be a better idea to have Rose in competition instead of Amanda. Amanda is the one who is always saying that she doesn't want to be a wrestler while Rose is dying to have the chance to prove herself, but was forced to sit on the sidelines in support. Casey "injured" Amanda in their promo that led to this match so it would make sense to have the swap here. Mary could make it official for the next show, saying something along the lines of Rose can continue in this role while Amanda continues to pay off her debts to Xion as strictly a valet.
Laura Jackson vs. Jade Justice - Cancelled
Jade Justice 's boyfriend on Facebook informed me that she had surgery IRL over the past month so that's why she's been MIA and pretty much ghost on social media. I PMed Laura Jackson before the deadline and told her not to even worry about writing a promo for the match, just do a segment we can just air in the place of the match. Thanks again for that, Laura. I'll book Jade after I hear back on her condition and find out when she's able to come back.
Bella Sinclair vs. Sarah Richardson - Rescheduled
I pulled this match as there wasn't a point to have the match when both Taralyn Skye/Bella Sinclair and sarahrichardson were unable to get anything in on-time for the show. Both handlers had stuff come up IRL that they informed me of and I have no problems with rescheduling this match. Plus, I got to finish brainstorming with Taralyn Skye/Bella Sinclair about feuding with the returning The Slammer from the storyline Karla pitched to me two weeks ago.
Three Corners Tag Team Match - Mariah & Zora Graysen def. The Clique (Raven & Amber Torres) and Talia and Crystal Hilton
Simply put, everyone else in this match got something in for the show but sarahrichardson , so she was the one eating the pin here. From a narrative perspective, I thought it was a nice touch that Zora finally got one up over Crystal in terms of their ongoing feud. I originally wanted this to be a four corners tag team match, kinda like those older TNA X-Division matches were guys would tag in and out on the fly, no matter who was on the corresponding team, but ran into two problems. 1 - everyone else was already booked in matches on this card so there wasn't room for another team. 2 - the single one person tags in and out would have been a bigger headache to keep track of in terms of writing. I had two separate Google Docs to keep a track of eliminations for the Riot matches at the PPV so I think I would drive myself nuttier than usual trying to do a match like that.
The post-match attack was written by The Bradley Clan and agreed upon by sarahrichardson after I asked her about it as I wouldn't want anyone using my characters without my permission either. That's why I go back and follow up with you guys and gals if I get a segment and make sure everyone involved signed in on it if it's a major storyline move going forward.
Justin Lockhart def. Genesis
I probably could have milked this for a few weeks, but I saw this as a better moment to add to Knightmare INC's vibe of similarities to NXT's Undisputed Era as they try to persuade Justin Lockhart to come to the "dark side" after they hand him the win over the returning Genesis . I figure that Patrick and Brandon would have fun with this feud anyway.
Fujiko Mine addresses the GZWA Nation after winning the Queen of Queens Championship
Fujiko sent this in to me via Twitter and is looking forward to her first title defense, in which Rose Cortez already asked for first. Reminder: If you competed in Reinas Tres, then you're eligible to challenge for the Queen of Queens title anytime between now and Reinas IV.
Her and Vi. will defend their titles in the same format on the next Primetime as how both TV and Tag Team titles were defended on this show for those wondering.
Mei Long def. The Grand Zabrina
This was merely a follow-up of their encounter in the Women's Riot Match. ❀ℋine 'ea❀ picked up the win here since I didn't know what happened to The Grand Zabrina . Still I wouldn't mind seeing these two square off again.
Equinox def. Brother Zachariah and retains the GZWA Television Championship
KingOfHighSpots continues to reign supreme as the TV champion with another win over Brother Zachariah . Simple as that. I felt that this match was a little lacking, but at 34+ pages in Google Docs uncoded, I thought this was still a solid main event. No need to go second guessing myself. Now is just running the course of getting the next challenger in line for Equinox to face next.
