First of all, I hope you've all had a Merry Christmas/Boxing Day/Kwanzaa or whichever you celebrate and I'm wishing you a happy new year coming up in less than 24 hrs (some of you in different time zones probably are already in the new year so yeah...). Secondly, thank you to all of you that got stuff in for this show (even if it was late) and showed support for GZWA's last broadcast of 2018. That meant a lot to me, especially that I worked on stuff on my birthday, even though I promised myself I was going to get everything done before that point but shit happens so what can I say. I had a lot of stuff come up out of the blue IRL the days leading up to the holidays (even though I was off from work which was even crazier) and not to mention I lost my outline I wrote on my last few days of work leading up to my vacation time the week prior so I pretty much had to redo all of that planning for nothing. FYI I tend to handwrite my outlines for the shows as it's faster for me than doing it in Google Docs.
From here on out, keep checking the forums as I have a few announcements to make at the start of the year. The boards will continue to be open since we're in off-season and I figure most of you would want to continue planning feuds/continue storylines in the IC Roleplay boards. ReAction will be open too and I MAY have some house shows (Summaries without the full write-up) just for you all won't go nuts in the downtime.
If you're sticking around or not for the next season, please let me know ASAP (especially regarding to current title holders and contenders). I would like to know who and what I'm working with for planning our next season for 2019.
Queen of Queens Championship Match - Fujiko Mine def. Amber Torres to retain
I honestly don't know what happened to DΔShΞR in terms of roleplaying for this match, but I thank Fujiko Mine for showing up and giving me a moveset for Xena to include at the tail end of the match. ♡☈ɑ√əη DM'ed me on Twitter about a segment or two to build to this but we never got anything going in terms of scheduling. The whole bit where Raven was cheating the entire match to help her bestie win was my idea, along with asking Fujiko's permission to use Xena in a bit of that hiliarty in that spot towards the end. I was going for the lesson being learned about poking the bear and hope all involved enjoyed it.
Justin Lockhart def. Samuel Chatman
I wrote off Casey Angel at the beginning to make this match mostly between Justin and Sam for the most part until the finish. I had writer's block on this match for the longest as I didn't know how to end it. I hope Patrick and Samuel enjoyed the read though even though I'm starting to struggle writing matches between their characters as I'm starting to feel like I'm running out of material or fear that I'm getting redundant with them.
Segment #1 -- Guests in the Crowd
Genesis wanted to get something in for the show in terms of a cameo skit, but I honestly told him to not to worry about it since it was getting painstakingly close to the holidays. Bobbi Jackson wanted to be part of the crowd watching the upcoming match since her and Mariah are friends and she helped her train for the match as credited in my roleplay for the PPV. Doroteo Elias is Mariah's love interest while Amber Monroe, Veronica Rae, and London Parker all wanted to support GZWA since they interact with a few of my characters on Twitter. Tia Brooks is always down for a cameo appearance even though Tia's handler stays busier than I do in terms of working all the time. Taralyn Skye/Bella Sinclair was supposed to be in this too, but I pulled her appearance since she wanted to write something to explain it so I figured her character(s) appearance wouldn't have made sense otherwise.
Jaser Cruz def. Mariah; Seras Collins appears?
DΔShΞR and I angled this storyline for a few months now while Seras Collins and myself have been planning a collaboration feud for about a year now. We've been just biding our time in terms of where the stars aligned in terms of where it would make sense the best in terms of where our characters were occupied with to make it work. Our plan is to continue the feud with a match or two in a different fed during GZWA's off-season before bringing it to GZWA as well. With the Cruz sibling ordeal resolved, I dunno where Jaser goes from here though
Didgitz def. Danielle Bradley
One of favorite moments of 2018 is seeing how our Women's Division has adapted and evolved with departures and the various opportunities I've given the women in that division. I always consider it a pleasure and an added challenge to write a match that compliments the personalities involved in terms of the ladies. I went with a hard hitting affair to reintroduce didgitz into the fed while showing off that Danielle (The Bradley Clan ) wasn't skipping a beat either, especially since they didn't get to square off one on one in Reinas last year.
Laura Jackson def. Rose Cortez (w/ Amanda Cortez)
We angled this feud via PMs previously and agreed to Laura Jackson going over here. I added in the post-match attack from Casey to establish the new-found alliance between Rose, Amanda, and Casey that would play a part in the main event. ❤Rose❤ liked that Rose and Amanda don't necessarily play fair in their matches so that's why I wrote this as essentially a handicap match with Laura overcoming the odds.
The Bradley Clan (Jesse Bradley & Kris Williams) def. The Clique and The Mega Busters
If you've been paying attention to the narrative that I've been telling with the Mega Busters over the last few months, I've been hinting at someone from their past coming back to haunt them. Nemesis' debut here is my official revamp of one of my old ZXWWF characters, using Tama Tonga as a picbase instead of having him be entirely a CAW from WWE games. I'm still going to maintain some of his "supernatural" origins but I'm not going to have him be too much like The Undertaker this time around. I'm going for more Mil Muertes than Taker since Andreina D'Costa will be joining the fed for the next season as his manager. Even though I wrote about two different roleplays for the Busters for this match, I was completely fine with putting The Bradley Clan over here.
In terms of how I wrote this match, I originally was going to make it a ladder match, but I wrote it like one of those round robin tag matches that SmackDown! Live tends to do for their tag teams of late. That helped me keep track of who was legal and who was out on the ring apron instead of constant spots to make people not be standing around for the bulk of it.
GZWA Women's Championship Match - Talia Areano def. Crystal Hilton to retain
Talia Areano and sarahrichardson were both late to post promos for this match, but when I woke up that morning to Crystal messaging me that she posted something late for the show I made sure to be fair and offered that same opportunity to Talia as well. I didn't angle this match and went by judging the roleplays submitted to decide the result here. I thought both of their work was good so that's why the match seems evenly matched for the bulk of the contest until Talia picked up the win.
GZWA World & Television Championship Elimination Chamber Match - Senor Vinnie def. The Doombringer, Knightmare INC, Mike Bradley, and Equinox
So much to talk about with this match. Not a single bit of this match was angled for those wondering. The interference spots by the Bradley Clan and Cortez Clan were cooked up both by me, just as something to give those involved to work with in the next season if they choose to do so, same goes for Mike Bradley laying out both The Legendary Doombringer and senorvinnie during the finale. KingOfHighSpots stated before the show that he wasn't continuing with the fed after this event, so I didn't want to write him into anything where it looked like his story was going to continue here. He's been dealing with some depression and ongoing RL situations I care not to get into, but I thank him for his time and devotion to the fed while he was here. With ❤Knightmare INC 's characters, I didn't want them to face each other in this match as from her promos, I got the idea that isn't a bridge she wanted to cross quite yet so that's why I had them doing a team assault against the opposition until they were eliminated. Even though Mike and DM lost here, I don't want you two to be discouraged as I enjoyed reading your work for the PPV - same goes for Vinnie and Knightmare INC too. It really made it hard for me to consider the finish here. Vinnie I felt deserved it since he's fully into the "wanted dead or alive" man-hunt for him and his titles and it would make a great narrative to start the season off with to see who's going to step up to take both titles from him. I hoped you all enjoyed reading this match as much as I did writing and doing research for it (watched at least 5-6 Chamber matches on the Network in preparation with notes).
