I pretty much tried to do a bit more commentary than usual this week. C'mon we have to give our commentary team some character too Special thanks to those who sent in skits and posted promos for the show. Enjoy
Also, as a sidenote, if anyone wants to help write matches, I'd appreciate the help.
- The pyro goes off to welcome everyone to another week of GZWA Primetime.
Prof. X: "We've had our doubters, but here we are, a week away from GZWA's first PPV event, First Encounter."
Francine: "Other than the two feature Battle Royals to name the first ever GZWA Champion and Women's Champion, the GZWA Owner has announced a Triple Threat to the card between Chyna, Arturo Machida, and Statik."
Prof. X: "Mr. Zeros did say he would announce more matches during the upcoming weekend on GZWA.com."
The Carter: "Well, Franny, if it's okay with you I'm game for a fatal four way if you want to get Maya and Alexis involved after the show. You just have to pin or make me submit to win..."
Francine: (slapping him) "Do you EVER stop hitting on me?"
The Carter: "Eventually you're going crack and give into Big Daddy..."
Francine: "The only thing that's going to crack is your skull on the floor if you don't find a new hobby..."
Prof. X: (Grinning momentarily) "We're going to open tonight's show with some GZWA diva action." - Special Referee Match - "Showstoppin' Senorita" Mariah & Tia Brooks vs. Karen Beth Zurich & "Sexiest of the Sexy" Maryse Ouellet - Special Referee: "Heartbreaker" Lise Starr
The bell rings to start the match with Mariah already in the ring to start the match off but Maryse and KBZ are on the ring apron whispering to each other discussing their strategy. Mariah grows impatient with waiting and motions to strike but tonight's special guest referee, Lise Starr, stands in-between the Showstoppin' Senorita and the opposing corner. KBZ shoves Lise Starr into Mariah from behind causing to fall to the mat into a seated position. KBZ is happy to start the match from this point with a rebound from the ropes and dropkick to the face of the Showstoppin' Senorita. Mariah attempts to sit back upright but seated mat slam from KBZ preludes the pin attempt from GZWA's Karebear.
Fortunately, Tia Brooks breaks the pin with a double axe handle to the spine of KBZ. KBZ argues with Lise Starr who face was conflicted, KBZ urging her to count faster while on the other hand, she wanted to apologize for shoving Mariah earlier. Mariah kips up to feet and turns the tables on KBZ with a Sweetest Day (Scotty 2 Hotty Facebuster). Mariah stomps her foot in preparation for the Heartbreaker (Sweet Chin Music) but KBZ dives and makes a tag to Maryse. Mariah sighs loudly at KBZ's cowardly tactics before tagging out to an eager Tia Brooks.
Tia Brooks eagerness is driven to a halt as Maryse greets her with a knee lift as she charges into the ring. Maryse slaps her repeatedly across the back of the head before applying a camel clutch to the former EWW Legends champion. Mariah attempts to get into the ring to break up the hold but KBZ keeps distracting Lise Starr before stomping on Tia's spine while Mariah is held at bay by Lise Starr. Eventually, Mariah has had enough as she shoves Lise Starr unintentionally into the corner post and kicks Maryse off of Tia Brooks with a Yakuza Kick.
Both Mariah and Tia Brooks begin stomping the grounded Maryse while KBZ is up to more mischief. Lise Starr is showing signs of coming around when KBZ brings her to her knees with a chair shot from behind before tossing the steel chair at Mariah. Mariah catches it looking confused as Lise looks up to see Mariah holding the steel chair. Lise holds her head as she gives the sign to call this match a DQ as Mariah is visibly boiling with rage.
While KBZ grins to herself while Lise Starr and Mariah argue back and forth, she helps Maryse out of the ring until Tia Brooks suicide dives out of the ring and tackles Maryse onto the bottom of the entrance ramp. This match is clearly not over for her. Mariah and Lise are done with words as their verbal dispute as erupted into a brawl. Maryse and Tia thrash about on the floor, while KBZ wants nothing to do with this heads backstage as she's already planted the seeds for her amusement.
Maryse kicks Tia off of her before rising to her feet, grabbing a handful of Tia's hair and ramming her head-first into the guard rail. Maryse then drops Tia onto the railing before walking off, rather pleased with herself. Tia Brooks isn't out of this yet as she tackles Maryse down on the entrance ramp once more, this time applying a sleeper hold on Maryse's upper body while Tia uses her own legs to scissor her in place.
The GZWA Owner has had enough as security rushes down to the scene to stop this catfight between these women.
Xion Zeros: "Okay, ladies, we all know that you want to tear each other apart, we get that... Tia and Maryse, since you two can't play nice, how about at First Encounter we have you two face each other one on one, in a Falls Count Anywhere match?"
Tia Brooks nods in approval while the security guards separate her and Maryse Ouellet.
"As for Lise Starr and Mariah, we know you two have some history and you both have something you want to prove to everyone in this company... namely a viper-tongued Karebear, I'm officially naming you two women the first two competitors to start the Over The Top Rope Battle Royal to name our first ever GZWA Women's Champion at our First Encounter PPV."
Lise Starr and Mariah stare down as the guards keep them separated as Primetime takes a commercial break. - Singles Match - Katie Matthews vs. Harley Burton (debut)
Harley takes control of the match from start, with a jumping knee smash to Katie. A quick succession of a double knee facebuster seems to already have Katie in over her head in Harley's debut. Her undefeated streak is at question as Harley takes an early pin attempt, but Katie gets the shoulder up before the count of 2.
Harley takes Katie into a grounded headlock before using her knees to strike her in the face. Harley attempts to scissor her legs around Katie's body but she's raised overhead with Katie countering with a double wrist suplex to pin Harley's shoulders to the mat. Like Katie moments ago, Harley manages to get the shoulder up after 2 count.
Katie brushes some her hair out of her face before Irish whipping Harley into the ropes, then leapfrogging over her body on the rebound. Harley turns around confused as Katie returns with a Reverse STO. With Harley grounded once more, Katie points to the turnbuckle before making her ascension. Katie prepares The Big Bang (Diving Double Knee Drop) but Harley knocks her off balance with an flying forearm smash. Harley then tosses Katie overhead from off the turnbuckle before taking her position on the top rope. Katie stands up and turns around into the pending jumping neckbreaker from Harley, but manages to counter with an European uppercut to stop Harley in her tracks.
Both women look exhausted after this exchange of counters back to back. Katie leans on the ropes for support while Harley is down on all fours. Katie makes the first move, charging in blindly, only to receive a toe kick from Harley, giving her the chance to set up the Burtowned (Flipping Double Underhook Piledriver). Harley flips forward with Katie in tow. Katie lands on her feet as Harley lands overhead and behind her. Before she could recover, Katie connects with a Fiery Makeover (Full Nelson Facebuster) to pick up the win tonight.
Prof. X: "An excellent performance from both ladies here tonight. Ladies and gentlemen, don't forget that these are only 2 of the women from the entire GZWA women's division that will be competing in our feature battle royal at our First Encounter PPV to name our first ever GZWA Women's Champion."
___________________________________________________ - It's been a week since Omega made his debut on the GZWA show, aptly named Primetime, in a losing effort to The Undertaker. Last week, he wanted to make an impact against one of the all-time greats of professional wrestling, and, although he tried hard to take out the Deadman, he got too caught up, and by doing so, he lost his match. But, there was something he gained from that one match...one thing that he is proud to have gained, and he's received airtime to say it on national television.
After a commercial break, The camera fades into a close-up of one of the backstage interviewers, Thomas Morning, sporting a very business-like attire and look in his eyes. There is a slight delay, as Morning is waiting for the cameraman to cue him to begin. Once he does, one hand is seen being raised; that hand holding a microphone, labeled 'GZWA: Ground Zero'. The mic is raised all the way to his lips before he begins his introduction.
THOMAS MORNING
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time...The Demonic Angel, Omega. Good to see you, Omega."
On perfect cue, as soon as Morning begins to say Omega's name, the camera, in quick speed, zooms out to show both the interviewer and The Demonic Angel, who is wearing a smirk on his face, as usual. He looks over at Morning for a split-second, before looking off at something in the distance, waiting for Thomas to ask whatever question he planned to ask Omega.
THOMAS MORNING
"Alright, well, Omega. Last week, thousands of GZWA fans in attendance at Primetime saw an amazing opening match, that included you facing off against the one-and-only Deadman, The Undertaker. Unfortunately for you, you lost...however, there is a rematch between the two of you tonight. What is your opinion on that?"
After Thomas speaks, Omega flashes a small, cocky-looking grin, as he uses two fingers to rub the small, almost pathetic hint of a beard growing on his chin. His hand slowly traces down his chest, and back to his side, digging into his pocket. The smirk slowly disappears from his face, as he raises a microphone of his own, identical to that of Morning's, feeling that his mind has chosen the right words to say in order to respond to the interviewer's vague question; thinking he will be able to satisfy his audience perfectly. The camera zooms in on Omega.
THE DEMONIC ANGEL ;; OMEGA
"I realized something as you were speaking, Thomas. You call him...The Undertaker, I mean...you call him the 'one-and-only' Deadman. I don't understand that. One-and-only? I don't think he deserves to be called that over here. Sure, he's had some accolades in the WWE; his undefeated Wrestlemania streak and whatnot, but here in GZWA? Why does he deserve to be called the 'one-and-only' Deadman? If that's the case, then I deserve to be called the 'one-and-only' Demonic Angel. What I'm saying is that, I haven't done shit in THIS business...and neither has he, so all this notoriety...it should be null and void. Now, your facts are obviously correct. Thousands of people saw it live, with their very own eyes, so I won't deny it. Undertaker did defeat me at Primetime. Now, the predictable thing for me to do is to bitch and moan; finding any possible complaint to make me seem like the superior man. But I am a man of honor. No, I won't blame it on global warming, or the fact that it was Friday the 13th, because in reality, those are stupid excuses. Truth be told, I've actually gained a lot of respect for Taker's ability...I'm glad he's still kicking at his age...literally. Not only that...but I've realized something. In this entire business...there are matches that make it's mark in history as some of the all-time greats...matches that pave the way for others...people like me, to be great. One of the matches that inspired me as a person to become better...was the match between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker at WWE's Wrestlemania 25. It blew me away, and opened my eyes like never before. When Taker and I faced off last week, there was just this chemistry between us...and I'm sure Taker felt it too...and it forced us to try even harder to finish one another off once and for all. I felt it, Taker felt it, hell, even the damn crowd felt it, as they were hot the entire match; no settling down. Tonight...it's the rematch between us. And I have butterflies in my stomach...something in my gut's telling me that have to work even harder...to fly farther, to strike faster, to hurt more, in order to put on an even better showing than last week. Taker, I know you're listening, bud. Don't think this little spheal means I'm going soft on you. I want revenge from last week. So tonight, I'm going to make sure that you take notice of the New Generation...by RIPPING YOU APART!!!"
With this, Omega blatantly drops his mic, showing his hype and aggression for his match coming up. He then walks away from the interview area, forcing the camera to pan back to Thomas in order to end the segment. The camera fades to black. - Singles Match - "9th Wonder of the World" Chyna vs. "The H.B.I.C" Alicia Fox
GZWA returns from commercial break with this match already in progress as Alicia Fox leaps from the top rope with a cross body. The 9th Wonder of the World catches her with ease before dropping her onto her knee with a backbreaker. Chyna hooks Alicia's leg for a pin but only manages a 2 count before Alicia gets her shoulder off the mat.
Without delay, Chyna pulls Alicia to her feet, Irish whipping her into the corner before pursuing her prey with a series of handsprings to clothesline to the corner. Fox evades through the ropes and rakes Chyna in the eyes before catching her breath at ringside.
Prof. X: "Impressive display of power and skill from Chyna here tonight. You have to assume that she's putting the GZWA roster on notice for our upcoming PPV event."
Francine: "After her statement on GZWA.com earlier this week, she definitely has a bullseye on Machida and Statik's backs..."
The Carter: "Speak of the devil... Look! Statik is crawling out from underneath the ring!"
Chyna reaches over the ropes to grab Alicia Fox's hair as she has her back to the ring as she catches her breath. Alicia flails her arms frantically until Statik leaps up and tazers Chyna to release her. Chyna's body is blocking the view from the referee's line of sight. Statik hides back underneath the ring out of view while Chyna leans helpless over the ropes.
A vicious smile creeps onto Alicia Fox's lips as she leaps onto the ring apron before connecting with a apron variation of her Scissor Kick on the 9th Wonder of the World. With GZWA's resident amazon down, Alicia Fox covers her to pick up the 1, 2, 3 after the rather foul assist from Statik here tonight. - Singles Match - "The Demonic Angel" Omega vs. The Undertaker - The Rematch
After The Undertaker climbs off of his motorcycle and steps into the ring, Omega wastes no time making the first move with a corkscrew forearm smash to the Deadman. This causes Undertaker to lean against the ropes while Omega doesn't let up on the assault. He hits the ropes and clotheslines the Deadman but that's still not enough to send him over. Omega hits the ropes again, returning with another clothesline that still doesn't do the job. He adds a dropkick for good measure that finally sends the Deadman slowly over the top rope but he manages to land on his feet. Omega remedies that problem with a vaulting body press to the outside. To Omega's dismay, Undertaker counters with a chokeslam mid-air to leave the Demonic Angel at his feet at ringside.
Gasping the young Superstar by the throat, he rolls him into the ring with his body partially exposed underneath the ropes. Undertaker then walks across the ring apron before dropping a guillotine leg drop to the throat of Omega.
Prof. X: "Bah-Gawd, these men are opening a wrestling clinic in that dere ring!"
Francine: (narrowing her eyes) "If that was a cheap imitation of being an Oklahoma redneck, you've just won an Oscar there, JR."
The Carter: "Yeah, you better stop with that before we call the X-Men on you..."
Prof. X: "You guys are no fun, I can't even joke around at least once..."
Omega looks out of it as the Undertaker still has control of the match. The Undertaker signals for the Tombstone Piledriver as lifts Omega into position. Fearing another loss to his GZWA career, Omega knees Undertaker in the face repeatedly before Undertaker's grip loosens enough for Omega to counter with a hurracanrana pin. One, Two, Thr-- NO! The Undertaker is still in the game.
Omega argues with the referee as the Undertaker sits up from the mat. Undertaker returns to a vertical base, connecting with throat thrust to Omega as he turns around. Undertaker follows with another strike that staggers Omega back and away from him. The Deadman takes a few steps to continue the assault but he is struck with a Pele Kick just as he takes action. Omega hits the ropes and follows up with a shining wizard to bring the Deadman down to his level.
Omega then points to the ropes as he takes flight with an OmegaSault (Best Moonsault Ever). Undertaker puts his knees up to defend and returns to a vertical base as Omega holds his ribs. Undertaker reels Omega into position and signals for The Last Ride. Undertaker raises Omega up overhead, but Omega fights against this Ride with several punches to the skull to the Deadman. Omega drops to his feet in front of Undertaker and capitalizes with The End (Standing Moonsault Side Slam). Omega wastes no time in hooking the leg for a pin afterwards. Undertaker attempts to get his shoulder off the mat, but Omega has him pinned with more leverage thanks to his feet being propped up on the middle rope.
Prof. X: Dirty tactics by the Demonic Angel, but you can't deny he's gotten a win over the Undertaker this week.
Francine: He's living up to his namesake indeed.
The Carter: Omega is definitely one of my picks for the upcoming PPV.
Francine: (rolling her eyes) During the commercial break, you said Undertaker is a shoe in for the title... - Lumberjack Match - "Miss V" Amiee Vaughan vs. "The Cobra" Serena Dent - Lumberjacks: Jack Chaos, Stunray, Jaydan Gabriel, Arturo Machida, "Shockingly Sexy" Statik, Gabriel Wingue, "Parental Warning" Dean Maddoxxx, and more...
Like a pack of rabid dogs, the Superstars around the ring as this match officially starts once Amiee Vaughan slides into the ring. She immediately backs away from the ropes as Stunray attempts to grab at her heels. Amiee backs up into the wrath of Serena Dent, who applies a Sleeper Hold to start this match.
Surprisingly enough, just as Amiee shows signs of fading, Serena releases the hold. Just as Amiee Vaughan spins around, Serena's intentions are made clear as she rebounds from the ropes with a clothesline that sends Amiee Vaughan tumbling to the floor. Stunray and Jack Chaos are the first ones to get hold of her as they hold her in place as Amiee Vaughan attempts to shake, kick, and bite herself free from their grasp. They obey her command, allowing Amiee to suffer from the wrath of the pending Asai Moonsault from Serena Dent.
Jaydan Gabriel and Arturo Machida dashes over to the opposing side of the ringside area, taking the fight to Stunray and Jack Chaos. Statik trips Machida up in the process only to play innocent before he turns his focus onto her. Just as Machida is about to strike both Statik and Machida are leveled with a double clothesline by the incoming 9th Wonder of the World joining the Lumberjacks at ringside.
Jaydan Gabriel is being overwhelmed by the gang-up from both Stunray and Jack Chaos until Jaydan receives some unexpected back up from both Dean Maddoxxx and Gabriel Wingue. Io rushes over to assist Dean Maddoxxx by trying to take out Gabe with her chair that she was sitting in as part of the audience on the front row. Gabe ducks the swing and Io makes the mistake again of taking out her idol. She curses her mistake as security restrains her.
Alicia Fox rushes down to the ringside area to repay the favor to Statik by leaping on the back of the 9th Wonder of the World. Katie Matthews and Harley Burton join the fray shortly, with Harley taking out Alicia Fox with a double knee backbreaker while Statik and Machida dropkick Chyna from the front.
Amongst this chaos at ringside, Amiee Vaughan manages to sneak back into the ring to safety. Serena Dent lets her know that she's not going anywhere as she grabs a hand full of her crimson hair. Amiee counters with a jawbreaker as Serena attempts to reel her in. A front dropkick sends Serena staggering into the corner whereas Amiee Vaughan wastes no time in capitalizing with a monkey flip to the Cobra. Amiee takes to the top rope, lining Serena up for a Super Seek (Diving Spear). Stunray attempts to intervene but he is speared to the ringside barricade by Jaydan Gabriel. Amiee beams with pride at her husband having her back before connecting with the blow to Serena.
Amiee covers Serena as the referee begins to count until Stunray slides into the ring and personally pulls her off. Jack Chaos helps Serena to her feet as they hold both Amiee in place while Serena is handed the ringbell. Amiee screams as she is held in place by Stunray and Jack Chaos as Serena smiles a wicked grin. The referee attempts to take the ringbell from her but she knocks him to the floor with it. Without a referee and due to the chaos within and outside of the ring, this match is declared a no contest. Amiee's knight in shining armor makes the save once more as he slides into the ring with a steel chair in hand. Serena immediately drops the ringbell and flees for her safety while Stunray takes a direct chairshot to the skull from Jaydan Gabriel. Stunray staggers back from the blow but it only phases him enough to release his grip on Amiee's arm. Jaydan swings Jack Chaos as well but he ducks the blow before exiting the ring while Amiee moves safely behind Jaydan. Stunray stares down at Jaydan without fear as Amiee's knight smashes the chair over his skull with such force that it warps the steel, causing Stunray to stumble through the ropes and out of the ring. Stunray motions to get back into the ring, but Serena Dent and Jack Chaos suggest otherwise as the entrance theme of the GZWA owner blasts through the speakers again here tonight.
Xion Zeros: "Our little Stunray wants to get his hands on Miss V... a bit more than people usually want to. I mean, wow, man, she must be "really good" if you want her back that bad... All jokes aside, I'll do you all a favor. Serena and Stunray want a piece of Amiee Vaughan. While Jack Chaos isn't far behind his partner in crime... and Jaydan Gabriel won't allow his lady to face these nightmares on her own. Next week at our First Encounter PPV, the team of Jack Chaos, Stunray, and Serena Dent will face Jaydan Gabriel, Amiee Vaughan and a partner of their choosing in a steel cage match. No escape, no hiding, it ends here - one way or another."
Amiee Vaughan looks horrified at this news while Stunray and Serena Dent is loving every ounce of it.
Prof. X: "What would make the GZWA Owner condemn Amiee Vaughan to cruel fate like that!?... Hold on folks...Looks like there's another development on the horizon tonight...Who could this be?"
The lights dim so ever dark...Pitch black even...a purple light hits the stage. The "Soul Rider" Shia Storm is standing right there with a smile on his face with microphone in hand. He gives one simple message to anyone and everyone, "I'm here..." He drops the mic, leaving as mysteriously as he appeared... What does mean for the GZWA roster with the First Encounter PPV next week?
