Slammiversary was a night where in a span of only a few hours, my life changed forever. Even though the dust has settled, some things still don't make sense to me, but I've done a lot of thinking. I've spent the time going over the events of the night in detail starting from when I met up with Mei Long and culminating after I won the GZWA Heavyweight Championship.
AJ Styles can be heard speaking as the camera fades in from a black screen and a windowless room begins to come into view. The room is small, about the same size as one of those rooms they question suspects in after being brought down to the police department. A triangular shaped metal lampshade is hanging from the ceiling, a single bulb slightly protruding from the shade providing the only light in the room. The only piece of furniture in the room is a metal table that has the GZWA Heavyweight Championship laid out on it, and a steel folding chair directly behind the table. The lone occupant of the room is none other than The Phenomenal One sitting in the chair with his head tilted down obscuring his face, wearing his signature blue jacket with the hood over his head showing off a black outlined P1 symbol. His arms are folded on the table, crossed at the wrists, with his gloved fingers creating fists directly below the center of the belt. He keeps his focus directed down as he continues speaking.
Too much time spent on things that are in the past. I've never been one to have regrets and I won't let this be one of them. Why should I regret something that I've earned? Something that I wanted more than anyone else in that match and fought to win. The truth is that I don't and I shouldn't. What happened at Slammiversary was simply the beginning of a new chapter for me.
AJ uncrosses his wrists, extending his arms over the belt and slides it off the table, before hoisting it over his left shoulder. His hood is still over his head, his gaze still fixed downward.
This right here is why we're all here and I understand that holding this makes me a target. Since Slammiversary, my name has been the one brought up in the back as the guy everyone has their sights set on. Well, I spent the last year and a half fighting to get this championship so I'm more than willing to spend as long as it takes to defend it against anyone who wants a shot at it.
It was announced earlier that on Primetime, I would go one on one with Justice in a non-title match. After what happened with her and Xion Zeros at Slammiversary, I'm going to take a wild guess that she's not going to be in such a great mood. Well, she can bring whatever she's got in that match, because she can expect the same from me. I may not be 100 percent right now after that King of the Mountain match, but come Primetime, I'm going to be. So, Justice, I'll see you soon...and good luck.
AJ slowly lifts his head up, finally looking at the camera before pulling his hood up and flinging it back and extending his arms outward in his signature pose. After a few seconds, he pushes the chair away from the table and stands up, walking around to the front of the table and putting his gloved hands together forming a P1 symbol. The camera focuses on it for awhile before fading out to a black screen.
