Inside of her small apartment, the possible next GZWA Women’s Champion was sitting on a black leather couch with her legs crossed in Indian style and talking on the phone. Surprisingly the person she’s talking to is not April Lee but somebody else instead, it’s actually Lise Starr’s mother.
“Thanks for the birthday presents, mum. Loving the clothes you got me.”
“I am glad you do. It’s a little hard buying gifts for you kids these days, you’re growing up so much…”
“Hey, just because I’m twenty-five it doesn’t mean I am a big grown up. You know the types of things I like.”
“Yes I do and I’m glad you’ve always been that way. I remember when you were in high school and all those girls already were into make-up, dressing like they were in their twenties. You refused to be like them.”
“And I still do, kinda. Mum, I have never been the type of girl who’s into make-up and dressing up all the time although I might do it once in a while for special occasions. That’s another thing that April and I have in common.”
“I’m glad that the two of you are good friends but again, I do not like the way you can be towards other girls at times.”
“Ugh, mum… I have told you before that in this industry you have to be a bit like that. Plus you know I hate what that stupid idiot Mei said about me.”
“Well, I always taught you it’s best to ignore what people say about you, Alyssa. However I don’t want to but in with whatever goes on with your job so let’s move on from that. Good luck on the next pay-per-view, sweetheart. I know you’ll become the next champion.”
“Thank you so much, mum. It’s nice when there are people in our family who actually support me.”
“Of course I’m going to support you and I have been doing that since day one. Just forget about those few in our family – mostly on your father’s side – who think that way.”
“I will try to, alright… It was just so annoying almost a year ago when I got injured with everyone saying I should quit but screw them. Winning the Women’s Championship next week will show them and make them shut their damn mouths.”
“Exactly, you can do that sweetie. I wish I could stay on the phone with you longer but it’s getting late here and I have work tomorrow. I might try to give you a call next weekend.”
“You sound a bit tired so get some sleep, mum. And yeah, call me next weekend because by then I will be the next Women’s Champion. I promise I am gonna make you so proud and give you an extra, extra early birthday present with your daughter as a champion, love you so much. Bye mum!”
Moving the phone from her ear, Lise would end the call and place the phone back onto the coffee table. Lise Starr showed a sweet smile as she got off from the couch and walked into her bedroom. Continuing to smile, she stood in front of a mirror where her sweet smile turned into more of a cocky one. Her confidence definitely was high, now also shown by the “next champion” motion made with her hands placed in front of her waist.
“Okay Lisey we can do this… no, we will do this. Since returning to this company a couple of months ago I made a goal to earn a shot at the women’s title and yeah, I achieved that and I will achieve my goal of becoming the GZWA Women’s Champion. Two and a half years ago when this company began, it was my goal to become the first GZWA Women’s Champion but things didn’t go how I hoped they would. Things will be different this time, of course. I plan on being the best GZWA Women’s Champion and an actual memorable one.”
After releasing a relaxed sigh, Lise Starr continued to look at
herself in the mirror and probably continued to imagine herself with the title around her waist. Hopefully her dream and goal comes true on the final pay-per-view of the year, Final Encounter.
