"She's My Addiction" by Fozzy is heard at full volume in the GZWA arena, as "The Crown Jewel of GZWA" wastes no time in making her presence known. She makes her way out on the stage wearing a red and navy plaid mini-skirt and black tank top.
Sapphire smiles at the GZWA Nation and strikes a pose at the top of the ramp for a few seconds. After about 10 seconds or so, she begins walking down the ramp, giving high fives to some of the people with their hands over the barrier and makes her way to the steps. She pauses at the bottom, genuinely happy, and steps up until she's on the ring apron. She sits on the middle rope for a few seconds, before stepping between the ropes and circling the ring as the fans in attendance begin cheering and showing their support. Sapphire goes over to the corner of the ring, motions for a microphone, and once one is provided to her, makes her way into the middle of the ring, raising the mic to speak.
Happy 2013, GZWA!
The cheers and shouts boom throughout the arena.
Wow, I can't believe how quickly time flies around here. Just a little over 3 months ago, I made my debut here. Three months! Now, I didn't come out here to talk about what's gone down since my debut. We all know the drama that played out from September through December between Genesis, Maryse and myself.
No, that was 2012. That was Kristine Campbell thinking that after 10 years her feelings for Brandon Payne would somehow make everything fall into place.
She lowered the microphone while shaking her head. She knew deep in her heart that those feelings would never go away. She also knew that if she continued to follow them, she would never be where she wanted to be in the company. She was ready to make a change and the first Primetime of 2013 was the perfect time. She raises the microphone back to her mouth.
Well, January starts a new year. Sure, I'm always going to love Genesis, but over these last few months I've realized that's who he is. Just like I'm "The Crown Jewel of GZWA" and 2013 is going to be the year that everyone in this company is going to know exactly what I'm capable of.
When I first came into GZWA, I made it known that I will face men and women in this company. I will take on any opponent, at any time in any type of match. Well, that offer still stands and will until the day I retire from this business. I don't care if you're a prissy diva or the biggest bad ass in GZWA. I'm not afraid to get down and dirty, break my nails, tangle my hair, or ruin my make up.
You look at me and see a diva. You step in the ring with me, and I'm a ruthless athlete who will not stop until I physically cannot compete in the match. I trained with several of the top women in professional wrestling and I learned early on that failure is not an option.
Next week, I have a tag team match against Christopher Daniels and Tina Angel. The last time I was in the ring with these two, I had my face planted into the mat. I was distracted and I let my feelings allow myself to become vulnerable.
Chris and Tina? I hope you two are ready.
Sapphire lowers the microphone, cracking her knuckles.
This is 2013 and I'm more focused on my career, I'm more focused on my goals, and I'm more focused on the one thing I wanted more than anything else when I signed my contract -- The GZWA Heavyweight Championship.
That's right, I plan to become the first female GZWA Heavyweight Champion. No disrespect at all to our current champion, AJ Styles. I'm more than willing to bust my ass and prove that I'm worthy of the opportunity.
In the meantime, I'm going to show Christopher Daniels and Tina Angel why they messed with the wrong woman. I can't wait to spike your hideous faces into the mat on Primetime. As my tag team partner would say, 'Learn to live with it. Learn to love it.'
I know that we sure will!
"She's My Addiction" by Fozzy hits the sound system once more as Sapphire makes her way out of the ring, handing the microphone to one of the workers as she heads up the ramp, posing at the top for several seconds before making her way to the back.
