Primetime is airing live as The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles, is seen backstage dressed to compete. The hood of his jacket already flipped down over his face, and the GZWA Heavyweight Championship secured around his waist.
As Styles heads across the open backstage area with a little time before the beginning of his match, he notices the camera pointed at him broadcasting his actions on the TitanTron to the Primetime audience. He raises his head a little bit, his hood still covering his face, and he focuses his attention at the camera to address the GZWA Nation.
My opponents in this Fatal 4 Way match tonight were each hand picked by GZWA Management for a reason. Think about it. Hano Eiyu, El Arrendajo Ardiente, and Mei Long? It's too convenient.
Hano Eiyu was the winner of the 2013 Riot match. He's earned the right to challenge for any championship that he chooses. Well, guess which one he chose? The one that you aspire to earn when you first sign with this company -- the GZWA Heavyweight Championship.
AJ pats the title wrapped around his body.
I've been both the GZWA Television Champion and GZWA Heavyweight Champion. I'm the only one in this company to do that, so I know what it takes to make it in this company. Before coming to GZWA two years ago, I called my home an Orlando, Florida based company where I held every championship that I could earn and I did it multiple times. I was Triple Crown Champion a total of four times, and helped create a division so unique that it's still thriving in 2013. So, anyone who says that AJ Styles doesn't belong in this business is full of crap.
I don't bring this up to rub it in anyone's face, or to say that I'm better than anyone here. I'm just saying that I know what it means to be a champion, and I know what it means to be on the opposite side of that ring looking to become a champion. Hano Eiyu? You're a man of few words, but words don't win championships. Stepping in that ring and beating your opponent does. I believe that you've proved on several occasions that you can beat your opponent. Tonight, you've been given an opportunity to beat me. The championship isn't on the line, but I know that you and I will both go out there and fight like it is.
El Arrendajo Ardiente, you sent a message last Primetime by hitting me in the head with a steel chair. You made that message even more personal after I realized that you were the one who kidnapped my girlfriend, and just to twist the knife a little more, you aligned with my rival, Christopher Daniels. You'd better pray to anything you believe in because I plan to let my actions do the talking and after what you did to Mei and I, those actions will lead me to pray for forgiveness tonight.
Speaking of Mei Long, she was also thrown in this match tonight. I don't know if the purpose was for us to compete against each other, or if she's seeking revenge on El Arrendajo Ardiente like I am, but she and I will be working together to make sure that one of us is left standing tonight. Just like when my GZWA Heavyweight Championship is on the line, I will the one left standing.
