“Hello, everyone, I’m Christy Hemme, and welcome to this much-anticipated GZWA.com exclsuive sit-down interview with the GZWA Television Champion ‘Meta’ Mike Bradley and one of the challengers to his title in the triple threat match at Slammiversary, his sister Danielle Bradley. Before we begin, I need to remind the both of you and the viewers at home that the Board of Directors has issued a strict no-physical-contact order between the two of you. Should either of you violate this order, you would lose your place in the match, and, in Mike’s case, vacate the Television Title. Are we clear?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Uh huh.”
“Okay, Mike, the first question is for you. You’ve been with GZWA for two years now, and after much hardships and purported screwjobs, you finally claimed your first championship earlier this year. What is it that’s allowed you to break through and enjoy your longest run of success in GZWA, or even your entire career?”
“Christy, it’s pretty simple. I’ve worked harder than anyone on this Earth to get here. The reason I was so pissed off about being shafted out of opportunities in the past is because of that hard work. At the time, I felt like it was all for nothing. But I persevered. I hate to sound like John Cena here, but I never gave up. I earned another shot, I kept the sharks at bay, and I became champion. Now that I’ve got this belt, all that hard work has been vindicated. But I’m not going to rest on my laurels. I’ve already defended my title once, and I’m prepared to do it again against Carnage and my sister.”
“Yeah, but don’t forget who instilled that work ethic into you, Mike. If it wasn’t for me convincing you to get into wrestling, you would have nothing to do after getting bored of kicking everyone’s ass at breakdancing. You would have to find a real job. And you skipped college to continue breakdancing, so you would be dead on the streets. This is why I turned on you, Mike. You became so ungrateful for everything I’ve done for you. I had to teach you a lesson somehow.”
“How did I become ungrateful? Because I told you ‘Luck is for losers’ that one time? That’s a hell of a conclusion to draw!”
“No, you were ungrateful because after I came back to GZWA to defend the Bradley name against Randy Orton, you used me as a valet! I’m not like some of the other women in this company. I’m not here to wear skimpy bikinis and catfight. I’m here to wrestle and win championships. And at Slammiversary, I’m taking that belt from you.”
“Listen, I tried to get you into more matches. Don’t blame me.”
“All right, you two, let’s move on. Danielle, you claim to know your brother’s every move. You claim to hold the keys to beating him. Can you elaborate on those comments?”
“Certainly. Despite everything I’ve said about Mike the past few months, it’s not like I’m knocking his talent. He’s a great wrestler. You don’t know what to expect from him when the match starts. But once you get past the feeling-out process, you can read him like a picture book. Mike, your past opponents couldn’t see when you were going to deliver a superkick, or the Meta Theory, or End of Days. But I can. I can see when you’re going to try and kick my head off, and I’ll take you out at the knees. You try to hook me for the Meta Theory, BOOM! Cross arm breaker. I can see your shit a mile away, Mike. Remember how we would scout your opponents? Believe me, I have years of advance scouting on you from training you to be a wrestler in the first place.”
“Danielle, you didn’t teach me every move I know. You don’t have the same athleticism I do. I have the physical advantage over you in every way. Your warnings don’t scare me. You can’t get into my head.”
“Yeah, well the fact that Justice fucked her way into the special guest referee role certainly did. You fear that she’ll screw you out of the title just like she screwed you out of two World Title matches. I know it eats at you inside. I know you’re going to lose sleep leading up to Slammiversary. And you’re going to lose more than just sleep. You’re going to lose that title because it’ll take you off your game.”
“Hey, she’s got issues with you and with Carnage in this match. She could easily turn on any one of us. Don’t think you’re immune to her tactics.”
“Her ‘tactics’ could qualify as rape in several states, Mike. I’m prepared to kick her ass.”
“Aren’t we all?”
“Finally, something we can agree on.”
“Speaking of Carnage, Mike, you took him to the limit in your match on Primetime, only to have Justice call a double disqualification after referee Slick Johnson got inadvertently knocked out at multiple points during the match. He’s certainly a force to be reckoned with.”
“Yeah, but he’s beatable. I proved that on Primetime. Danielle, you’ve faced him before. And he beat you. You want to talk about holding the keys to winning this match? I’m just dangling them above you, pulling them out of your reach every time you jump. I can beat both you and Carnage. You and he can only dream of beating me. All that’s left is to keep Justice in line and I’ll walk out of Slammiversary with the Television Title strapped firmly around my waist.”
“Mike, this is your problem. You’re too quick to count people out. You seem to forget how quickly things can go awry for you. The people you say have screwed with you and later found themselves out of the company didn’t go without costing you a big match or five. You’re walking a very thin tightrope, little brother, and we’re playing without a net.”
“Okay, guys, we’re almost out of time, but before we go, I’ll let you get one final statement in. Danielle, you first.”
“Mike, listen carefully: Now that I finally have my opportunity to make you pay for turning your back on me. I’m going to teach you one last lesson in wrestling, and when I do, you can go back to Jessica and Andrew and tell them how I, not you, am the dominant member of the Bradley family. Because I”m not the one who married a vegetable.”
Mike begins to seethe at his sister’s comments.
“You leave my family out of this, Danielle! This is not about them. This is about you, me Carnage, and Justice. For all the shit you’ve given me this year, it will be so sweet to pin you in the middle of that ring and make you eat your words. And when you’re finished chewing, you better pray for forgiveness. But just remember that prayers aren’t always answered.”
“Well, there you have it, folks. The time for talk is over. We’ll see you at Slammiversary.”
Mike holds the title in the air while staring down Danielle as the cameras go to black.
