History & Biography
Ewen was born in Tampa, Florida to Afro-Caribbean immigrants Eltore and Margaret Ewen. He attended Wharton High School, where he won a number of athletic honors, including being named Hillsborough County's "Ironman of the Year". Upon graduating from Wharton, Ewen attended the University of Iowa, where he played football as a defensive lineman for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Ewen was redshirted in 2004 and missed the 2005 season due to an injury sustained in pre-season camp, playing a single season as a sophomore in 2006. Ewen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. As a Florida high school wrestling state champion and a Division I college football letter winner, Ewen competed in a number of different athletic disciplines at an elite level before turning his attention to the sport of powerlifting. His debut was in 2009.
In 2009, Ewen signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He was assigned to its developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), where he debuted on December 17, 2009 under the ring name Big E Langston.
Langston made his NXT debut on August 1, 2012, defeating Adam Mercer.
On the December 6 tapings of NXT (which aired January 9, 2013), Langston defeated NXT Champion and Shield member Seth Rollins in a no disqualification match to win the title.
Langston made his WWE main roster debut on the December 17, 2012 episode of Raw, attacking John Cena thus establishing himself on the main roster as a heel, and aligning himself with AJ Lee.
On the October 18 episode of SmackDown, Langston lost to CM Punk and turned face after the match, aiding Punk in fending off an attack by Ryback and Curtis Axel.
On the November 18 episode of Raw, Langston was given his championship match with Curtis Axel, where he defeated him to win the Intercontinental Championship.
Langston is currently signed to a contract with Ground Zero Wrestling Association.

SAMPLE ROLEPLAY
A monster of a man. An agile powerhouse. A man that can knock you down and make you stay down. Big E Langston is the man that embodies all of those traits. All of those traits come together to make him one of the most talented free agents the wrestling world has ever seen. And now, the leader of the Five Count Revolution finds himself signing a new contract. Ground Zero has now become his new home, and now it was time for him to make a new statement. The world of the WWE was a quaint one, but his hunger for domination goes beyond those walls. Now, he wants to expand his horizons, and this new company was the perfect way for him and everyone that dares get in his path to become exposed to the terror and the power of the number five.
Pacing around the trainers room with a sense of impatience, Big E Langston has called a few camera men over to record a few restless thoughts. Sure, he was a beast of a man, but he still had to let everyone know who he was. He was feeling just frisky enough to do so as he continued to pace around. His facial expressions constantly changed, from a confident smirk to a look of such intensity and aggression that could make anyone cower. He truly was a monster. When he felt he had finally collected the words he needed to say, he rushed up to the camera; wide-eyed and passionate. The cameraman takes a short and subtle step away out of intimidation, but Big E quickly grabs the camera and forces it to concentrate on his face.
"WHO AM I!? WHO AM I!? I'M BIG E LANGSTON!"
Big E screamed into the camera as aggressively as possible, but then went quiet. Big E let go of the camera, and simply smiled and laughed. He would calm himself down before resuming again.
"...Is what I would say if I were just another meatheaded monster. Don't get me wrong, I will crush anyone within an inch of their life if they disrespected me but I'll be damned if I don't enjoy a good Saturday morning cartoon once in a while. So who am I, really? Fellow roster, Ground Zero staff, all those who are watching this here today, I am a simple man. A man with...dreams. Dreams and ambitions that just so happen to involve me...winning. I wanna win. I wanna dominate. I want truckloads of money. Simple, right? Well, for a humble guy like myself...of course not. Nobody here cares how humble I am, or how smart I am or even how good-looking I am. They wanna beat me down. They wanna take the dream away, and you know why? Because they have dreams of their own."
Big E chuckles.
"And they fear me. They fear that I can take those dreams, that hunger that they have, and they fear that I could smash it right in front of their face. And maybe I could. But hey, I'm a simple man. I like simple things."
Big E would once again pace around the room, collecting his thoughts and processing them.
"I have a certain...interest that I'd like to share with you, if that's okay. Do you wanna know...what my favorite number is? Don't think too hard on it, because if you wanna step up to me, you'll know firsthand what it is. And I wanna make sure that this number beings fear into you. This number is all that I bring with me to Ground Zero here tonight. There's no trick to it. Because with this number comes a revolution; a promise of things to come. I love this number, because I dominate with this number; I maim and destroy with this number. Five. The number is everything to me...because when you step up to me, I'll make sure that when I beat you down and nail my Big Ending on you, I will look at that referee, with his FIVE fingers ready to slap down on that mat for the pinfall, I will make sure that he slaps down, not THREE times...but FIVE. THREE AINT ENOUGH, MAN, I NEED FIVE! And the referee will slap those five fingers down five times...ONE...TWO...THREE...FOUR...and once he reaches FIVE, you will know my name, my power, my passion, my DREAM firsthand."
Big E looks down at his right hand as it opens from a fist to reveal all five fingers. He looks at them as he continues to speak.
"Ground Zero, get ready. The Five Count Revolution is upon us, and I will not be stopped. I'm Big E Langston, and you're in for the ride of your life. Let's do this."
Big E laughs very quietly and calmly and looks back at the cameraman, thus ending Big E's very interesting introduction into Ground Zero.
