It had been weeks after the events of Slammiversary III, after a night like that it isn’t surprising that the company has shaken up. Many matches have the potential to be match of the year, a lot of faces - new and old – have arrived in GZWA and finally, the controversy surrounding the “Slammiversary Screwjob” has caused a stir in the locker room and the GZWA Universe.
Although the pay-per-view has long passed, Lise Starr has only just recovered from the hellacious Street Fight where she defeated AJ Lee. By now the bruises on her arms have faded mildly but still were a tad noticeable. Currently Lise was sitting on a production box, backstage in the GZWA arena, browsing the messages on her iPhone which were mostly happy birthday wishes as she had turned twenty-six a few days ago.
GZWA interviewer Christy Hemme walked into the scene and approached Lise Starr with a microphone in hand. The unsurprised Starr just shrugged her shoulders and placed her iPhone into the pocket of her jeans. “I am gonna be honest here, I expected you to freak out at me like you usually do.”
“Don’t push your luck, Bozo.”
Christy simply shook her head and continued to speak, by now she was used to the snarky comments that Lise always made. “On the next edition of Primetime, you’re gonna be involved in a pretty big match. A Survivor Series style elimination tag team match. Both teams have some very alike divas meanwhile, there’s also unlikely team ups such as yourself and the Queen Bee Mafia. A lot of us are wondering, how are you going to coexist with the rest of the divas on your team?”
“Ugh, why? Why do I have to team up with those idiots from QBM? I can’t stand Morgan and her massive mouth, stupid bitch is always trying to bring up dirt from the past and twist it around. Trust me, I know. Then there’s MiMi who sometimes follows me like a lost puppy.” Lise spoke her next words in a stereotypical Latin-American accent, mocking Mariah. “Imma beat you in our rematch, mami!” Now ticked off, Lise rolled her eyes. “I swear I would have lost my shit if I had to team up with Tia Brooks, now SHE makes my blood boil with that annoying, attention seeking attitude of hers. Claiming that you’re coming back to get me is a big, big, BIG mistake.”
“I have to ask Lisey, is that also a threat towards AJ Lee?”
Mentioning AJ Lee was a bad idea, judging by the death glare the Heartbreaker struck at Christy. “Like I said a while ago, she is dead to me... I ended her at Slammiversary... This company is doing a pretty dumb move by saying she’s going to be in this match, that’s false advertising. Then again look at who’s in charge of GZWA.” Obviously a reference to Xion Zeros and his shocking decision at Slammiversary.
“Alright, let’s go back to that other topic we were on. Do you have anything to say about your other partners in this match: Paige and Amber Torres?”
“Little Cruz? Honestly, I haven’t even talked to her but we’ve all seen the Maury Povich Show drama around her hubby and Rae-Rae... I ain’t gonna touch that subject. As for Paige, I think she’s a good addition to the team. I mean, have you seen the family she’s come from? Sweet Saraya is scary.”
Nodding her head, Christy asked another question. “We’d also like to know what you’re thinking about your opponents. There’s Amanda Cortez, Casey and Laura Jackson of the MisFits, umm someone else...” Oh, who could that be? “And finally, the newly crowned GZWA Women’s Champion Raven. A pin over the champion would be a big win and potentially can make you a contender.”
“I’ve been in this company since the very beginning, despite that I have not held any gold. There was one time last year when I could have beat Yoko Ono however... I had some problems at the time. I’d love to win the women’s title championship so it isn’t a surprise that I am planning on eliminating Raven. Although that is gonna be a challenge with everybody else on the team probably planning to do the same. That challenge gets doubled thanks to the MisFits being part of Rae-Rae’s team; those girls are really weird... I just hope Amanda doesn’t have any sort of sick fantasy of making me into a kidnap victim.” Disgusted by what she just said, Lise scratched the back of her head as Christy raised an eyebrow at her before shrugging her shoulders. “You’ve got a point, I admit that.”
The Heartbreaker got off the production box and stood on the floor, placing her hands in her pockets. Lise assumed the interview was over but waited to see if Christy had another question and she did. Christy spoke once more, asking a final question. “Lisey, there is one more thing I need to ask you. I know it is something you wouldn’t want to be asked but you know how management can be, they always want to know the latest backstage stuff. This week our boss Xion Zeros will be explaining his actions at Slammiversary, we want to know your thoughts on this entire situation and how are the Straight Edge Society is coping with it?”
To the surprise to nobody, Lise Starr replied with an irritated sigh. “How do you think we’re coping? We’re pissed off, extremely pissed off. As for Xion, I don’t care about whatever excuses he’s got prepared because what he did to Punk was an injustice. However, we all know how Punk is; he’s going to have some real nice things to say. For now, this interview is over.” Turning around, Lise Starr walked away from the scene.
