So, this was it. The hour was at hand for the debut of one of the hottest prospects the GZWA had ever signed. The spunky young Canadian known as Ruby Cooper had been the subject of many a rumour going 'round the offices since her contract had been signed, and even though she had made a short introduction on the last edition of Primetime, it still hadn't been enough to quell everyone's curiosity. Who was the fiery young woman with the equally fiery red mane?
Well, you can put all the rumours and the whispers to bed now, folks. Let Ruby tell you a little bit about herself...
"I was born in a decent-sized city, about an hour north of Toronto. Just a typical Canadian family - there's no tragic backstory here, so if that's what you were expecting..." She shrugged. "Sorry to disappoint."
She fiddled with the ends of her layered hair, falling around her face from underneath a red knit beanie. Her hazel-green eyes pierced the camera lens, seeming to gaze right into the eyes of the viewers at home. A smile widened her mouth, showing off her slightly gapped front teeth.
"I've always been the kid that went against the grain - not in a troublemaking kind of way, just in the way that I dressed, the music I listened to, and the things I liked. Where I was from, wrestling wasn't exactly the hot topic in the playground. So, needless to say, when people found out I wanted to be a wrestler when I grew up, I got my share of eye-rolls." She laughed, shifting in her chair. "It never mattered to me, because my parents were always 100% supportive of me, no matter what I wanted to do." She paused a moment. "Man, this is coming across as some really cheesy 'Lifetime TV movie'-type stuff, isn't it?" She laughed again, louder this time. "Alright, I'll skip the trip back in time, because it's not why I'm here anyways. I'm here to make my statement leading into my upcoming match on Primetime."
Her face went serious again, her hands stilling in her lap as she leveled that soulful gaze back at the camera lens in front of her. "So, what I hear through the grapevine that my debut comes in the form of a fatal four-way between yours truly, Delta Madison, Nikki Bella and Kayda Erikson. Now, I've had the chance to see what the others have said, and out of everyone, I really related to what Kayda had to say. She and I are pretty much the X-factors in this match. Nikki Bella is, of course, extremely well-known in the wrestling world, so a lot of people know what to expect from her. Now, being the complete wrestling nerd that I am and having followed a butt-ton of indie wrestling, I know something of Delta, and from what I gather, GZWA is her first federation in quite some time. Needless to say, this match is definitely going to be...interesting, to say the very least." She grinned coyly and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. "Now, I'm not about to sit here and go down the whole road of 'I'm the best this place has ever seen, I'm gonna wipe the floor with these tramps, yadda, yadda...' because if you know anything about me, you know that's not my style in the slightest. And if you don't know a lick about me...well, you just learned something. What I will say is this: I'm completely ready to step into that ring and put on one of the best performances that this company has ever or will ever see. I'm bringing a whole new flavour to this company, and I"ll give all you loyal viewers out there some advice: you're gonna want to keep your eyes on this Canuck chickie right here." She pointed a thumb towards her chest. "Because I can promise you that you're not going to regret it."
Winking at the camera lens, Ruby threw up a peace sign as the camera faded out to black.
