--------------- Sample Roleplay ---------------
Skill, talent, and determination beat out luck every
time. That is what people are taught about accomplishing their goals. In World
Elite Wrestling, some could say the opposite was true. Being in the right place
and the right time has done wonders for people who never deserved the shine
they’ve gotten. If not luck it was who you knew and how close you were to them.
The former was true about Brian James. The first Retribution Rumble winner was
his then tag team partner Cody Taylor; his close association led him to a match
with Chance and a win. Setting up to face him several times for the WEW
Championship, a belt he has yet to win.
Ever since his first run at the title, people assumed he
was fighting for the attention and respect that the title brings with it. But
the truth of the matter is that he was fighting to prove to himself he could be
the best. Feud after feud, stable after stable, and match after match. The
moment he finally proved he was as good as he said was when he beat Flame for
the WEW Universal Championship and carrying it for almost 80 days. During the
run he topped his hat with yet another feather, beating the man defined by the
Universal Championship, Vantage. He made a man many people assumed was
unbreakable say I quit.
With no time to rest, Brian was thrust once more into a
match with Chance Rugani, with everything on the line. His title and Chance’s
because there was a plan. The New Regime was supposed to have it all and the
only way that was happening was if Chance once again held the entire spotlight
at Legacy. Brian fell once more to the bottom of the list and had everything to
prove. Prove that he could be a champion. Instead he floundered. Moving to
Adrenaline and diving into a new land didn’t rejuvenate him, until he met a new
rival. Ryan Henderson gave Brian the fire he needed to once again prove to
himself that even with no friends in the shadows he could be a champion.
So he did exactly that by teaming with newcomer Phoenix
Winterborn and finally achieving a goal he’d had since day one. In what was
probably the most exciting WEW Tag Team Championship match in a long time,
Brian literally climbed the ladder of success and captured his second title in
the WEW. This success lived to a short resurgence in the Tag Division with the
activation of The Takeover and the re-ignition of the Divas of Harlem. He also
beat the #1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship along the way.
Alas all this success didn’t earn him anything
in the eyes of management.
So what was his only other option? Leave. If they wouldn't appreciate his talents, he was sure someone else would. And he was hoping that place would be GZWA, he hoped there would be no inner circle where you had to be in if you wanted to sit at the big kids table. There would be no one telling you that you should be happy to stay in the midcard and be glad you even reached that far. Not to aspire to be better.
This was his story and this was who he was. Now it was time to move on and be who the man he is now. A World Champion.[/i][/font][/span]
