"Heart Attack" by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour was fading out into the noise as the hostess with the most-ess, Christy Hemme, was already standing in the ring. Waving, sending kisses and winks to the fans in attendance she had a hold of her microphone. The usual set up of GZWA's Hot Spot was prepared, including two high chairs and a few monitors as Christy rested against one of the seats.
Hello, hello every single fan in attendance and welcome back to GZWA's one and only interview show, "Hot Spot". I am the host you all deserve, the Rockin' Redhead, the Firecracker, going by the legal name of Christy Hemme. And I am pretty sure you missed me just as much as I missed you.
The crowd started cheering and clapping for the head interviewer as she smiled graciously.
Tonight, we have a special treat for all of you. Joining me here is a Vixen simply soaring through the division and already with a win under her belt. And it was no simple win. This young lady picked up a victory against the both loved and hated, but always noticeable "The Goddess" Amanda Cortez. Already one of the most recognizable faces on the roster. I think you already know, who am I talking to you. The warrior of good, the fighter for the weak and someone who looks stunning doing it. Please, give the warmest welcome to your superhero, "The Wonder Girl" Ashley Wonder!
"Boomerang" by The Summer Set starts to play and Ashley Wonder makes her way out onto the ramp and the fans cheer. She gives a few high fives, and makes her way into the ring. Hugs Christy and takes a seat.
First of all, thank you for inviting me on Hot Spot Christy. Out of all of the great women in GZWA, you chose me and that means a lot to me. Only being her for a little over a month, I can already say Ground Zero Wrestling Association is the premiere place for sports entertainment. We have a great cast and crew. That expands beyond just the wrestlers: The catering staff, the TV crew, the setup crew. It is a thrill to be here and it is a thrill to be on Hot Spot: being interviewed by the legendary Christy Hemme. I am looking forward to whatever you want to ask, so fire away.
Christy nodded while smiling brightly as she took a quick glance at her questions cards. Looking back up at Ashley, she raised the microphone to her lips and spoke out to her guest and the audience in attendance.
It is so lovely to have you here, Ashley. First of all, congratulations are in order for your win at the last Primetime against "The Tattooed Beauty" herself Laura Jackson, who is one half of the GZWA's Tag Team champions. What a well-deserved win it was. How did it feel to face in that ring such a strong competitor, who made such a strong statement during your match against Amanda Cortez by cold bloodlessly taking her out and forcing her into retirement. Did this match felt different to the ones you had before?
Well, after my match with Amanda: I felt bad that I could not prevent the attack. When it was happening I was kind of not even aware what was happening. I was overwhelmed from debuting in one of they best promotions in professional wrestling. It is quite an adjustment going from Rec Centers and VFW halls with about 50 people to the sold out Staples Center with 18,000 fans. After the events of my debut I got to know Amanda and her wife Rose, and they are really nice people. I felt bad and I wanted to get retribution and right the wrong, so I laid out my challenge to Laura. It definitely had a greater sense of emotion to it, trying to right a wrong that the victim herself was unable to.
Is there any possibility that this win of yours will fuel a greater feud between you and Laura? Maybe even spark your interest to go for the Tag Team titles currently held by the aforementioned Laura Jackson and her partner in crime Casey Cortez? Or are you more interested in some more singles action and a future contendership for the Women's championship title?
It would be great to go after the tag titles, but I really don't have a partner. So for now I am taking it one show at a time, I would love to honestly have a chance to compete for any title. Because, that is what we are all here for in the first place, the very premise of wrestling is formed upon getting to the top of the mountain. Myself, I have no problem putting chasing the title on hold, if a crime against morality needs me to play my hand. I am just excited for the opportunity to be here. I also would not like to hinder the progress of my sister and her friend Ashleigh, with those two trying to go after the tag titles.
The crowd cheered at Ashley's answer as Christy smiled brightly at her guest and nodded at the crowd's approval.
I have to say, it is so refreshing to see a wrestler who is so passionate about the industry and appreciates being in a company such as GZWA. But talking about tag team partners... Psycho Sagus, member of The Mega Busters, did come to your aid during Primetime, when Laura Jackson and Casey Cortez decided to break the etiquette of sportsmanship and attack you. I just have to ask, if this is a new stable forming or maybe a new romance in brewing backstage in the halls of the GZWA arena?
I really don't know, we are just friends right now. He's a nice guy, and I think that their may be potential for something more. Only time will tell. Ashleigh is kind of the female head of the Mega Busters, so I don't want to intrude in the team. Sagus is a nice guy, and it's cool to have a friend like him. He is funny, but not many people really understand him. We are not in a relationship, but I can't control fate. Whether that mean we eventually are or not. You know they say, relationships find you when you are not looking.
Well, I think the fans wouldn't mind to see a two gorgeous people together and in love on live television.
Taking a quick glance at her question cards, Christy heard the crowd cheering loudly at the possibility of a new couple in GZWA. Looking back up at Ashley, the Rockin' Interviewer moved to her next question.
Before moving on to a few fan submitted questions, I have to ask you... What is your biggest goal here in this company? Is it to carry a championship belt with dignity and pride? Is it the need and desire to protect the less fortunate and the ones that cannot fight for themselves? Or is it because of the sheer passion for the sport?
I've always been passionate about athletics, I was a star goalie at Syracuse University. I was ranked in the top 5 goalies in the nation. Women's professional soccer really does not have much opportunity outside of the Olympics. My older sister wrestled so I decided it seemed like something cool She trained me and we did some indie runs. Won a few tag titles. In GZWA, I just want to be that girl that the young kids can look up to. It's okay to say no to per pressure: Don't do drugs if someone pressures you. Just say no. Don't sleep with some guy because he says you should. Be strong and make choices that make you feel comfortable. It's okay to be different, it is cool to be weird and unique. Every person is special, and you should really let that shine. Whether that be through wrestling, or painting, or music, or even helping people less fortunate than you.
The crowd went wild and erupted into cheers, starting to chant "Wonder Girl" as Christy looked around the arena for a brief moment.
Now those are some inspiring words, Ashley. I can see you becoming the face of an entirely different women's wrestling division. But now, it's time for us to move towards a few questions sent in by the fans and viewers of GZWA. I remind you, you can sent us question on Twitter with using the hashtag "GZWA Hot Spot". @kasey_Diva asks: Since you are known as a superhero yourself, what is your favorite comic book villain?
Ashley laughed hearing the question.
Now I am going to sound like a complete comic nerd, but I kind of am anyway. Well that is a good question Kasey Diva. Villains are just as important to heroes. Without the villains, there would be nothing to fight to defend. When I think of all of the villains I have read about I would have to go with one of the most famous Spiderman villains. So, my favorite would have to be Venom. Because the character itself gives insight on a deeper part of everyone: We all have a good side, and we all have temptations and a dark side as well. It is your choice to decide which side controls you. This part is fun, I am interested to see what else the fans want to know.
Hugo Martinez @multicoloreddragon asks if you could fight anyone, past or present, Diva or Superstar, who would you love to face in that squared circle? What type of match would it be? Ladders, cage or your simple singles match?
Well I have not been watching wrestling as long as most of the people on the roster probably have, so I am not going to throw out a name regarded as a legend. I rarely have the time to watch anything, let alone wrestling. I do try and make it a priority to at least watch NXT. I really like a lot of the girls that WWE has scouted and are grooming for the future.I really like Bayley, I have wrestled her a few times in the indies. I would like to team with her though, I think that would be pretty awesome. Back to the question at hand though. One girl in NXT I really would like to wrestle is Sasha Banks. I love everything about her from the way she carries a pretty basic gimmick and makes it into something of her own. I love her in-ring ability and I think we could put on a pretty good match. I have never got to wrestle her, and she is at the top of my list of dream opponents at this moment.
And all of us can only hope to see both you and Sasha Banks square off in this very ring. But, sadly, that is all the time we had. Thank you, Ashley, for a lovely interview and I wish you the best of luck in your future matches.
Christy turns to face the camera and looks at it directly with a smile gracing her face.
This has been GZWA's Hot Spot with your rockin' host, Christy Hemme. I thank you all for tuning in and hope you have a pleasant tomorrow.
"Heart Attack" by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour blasted through the speakers once again as the scene faded, showing the two ladies shaking hands, with the crowd cheering them on.
