I can't decide on which was a bigger waste of time, this or TNA's Turning Point two weeks ago...
Daniel Bryan vs Ted DiBiase (United States Championship)
Result: Daniel Bryan wins via submission.
This was an okay match, pretty average. It did have some pretty cool spots.
After the match The Miz hits Bryan with the breifcase and makes his way to the ring. He says he's got something to say. They botched with the lights for some reason. He keeps dissing Miami Heat and teases cashing in. The lights screw up again. (It looked like Triple H's entrance lighting) Wtf?
Cole starts discussing what happened on Raw how Vladimir and Kozlov earned the tag title match then talk about Sheamus kicking Morrison in the head. Sheamus is now being interviewed by Matthews. He's saying Morrison is jealous of him and says he's going to break his will and break his body.
Sheamus vs John Morrison
Result: Morrison wins.
This is kind of a slow match. Nothing speacial. The crowd seems completey dead. The momentum did pick up near the end. Morrison won with a kick to the head off the top rope. I'm glad to see Morrison get over.
Cena is backstage walking around. R-Truth comes in and says he may have a solution. He says Nexus is banned from ring side but he isn't - the only way to win is by pinfall or submission and something could "accidently" happen to Orton. Cena hates the idea and says he'd be a joke. You can hear 1 guy yell "CENA SUCKS!" R-Truth says he'll beleive it when he sees it after Cena says he'll call it down the middle. He comes off as a heel. A heel turn would be cool.
Kaval vs Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Championship)
The match is fast paced and entertaining from the start. The crowd isn't really reacting but they're clearly behind Kaval. Cole won't shut up (obviously) Striker mentions the intercontinental title has never changed hands in Miami. Kaval is jobbing to Dolph but gets some good hits in here and there. Cole calls himself the greatest announcer in WWE history. Oh, god. Kaval is gaining momentum now. It's back and forth now. Ziggler dodged the Warrior's way but Kaval escaped Ziggler's sleeper hold. This match is by far the best at this point. Ziggler wins with a small package (aparently grabbing the tights too) out of no where. Damn.
Result: Dolph Ziggler wins.
Matthews is interviewing Swagger. Jack says team Del Rio should be called Jack Swagger's All-American Americans. Cody Rhodes comes in and says he caught Swagger trying to get into a club with the "most busted and broke shoes he's ever seen." Del Rio interrupts the two and says it's not about whose better ect. He wants to see little kids cry, it's about hurting Rey Mysterio - and if they do it, he buys the beers.
Team Del Rio vs Team Mysterio
MVP is eliminated by Drew McIntyre. (Del Rio got involved)
Team Del Rio: 5 - Team Mysterio: 4
Chris Masters is eliminated by Del Rio. (Arm bar)
Team Del Rio: 5 - Team Mysterio: 3
Del Rio tags in McIntyre. After he does he taunts Big Show and gets a knockout punch and is escorted out. Del Rio is gone.
Cody Rhodes is eliminated by Big Show.
Team Del Rio: 4 - Team Mysterio: 3
Tyler Reks is eliminated by Kofi Kingston.
Team Del Rio: 3 - Team Mysterio: 3
Kofi Kingston is eliminated by Jack Swagger (Tap out)
Team Del Rio: 3 - Team Mysterio: 2
Jack Swagger is eliminated by Rey Mysterio.
Team Del Rio: 2 - Team Mysterio: 2
Drew McIntyre is eliminated by Big Show.
Team Del Rio: 0 - Team Mysterio: 0
Result: Team Mysterio wins.
Orton is backstage staring at the title. Matthews asks about Cena. Orton says he's sick of talking about him, but Cena did this to himself. He says his thinking about Barrett. He says how he doesn't care about is Miz, Barrett or Cena. He only cares about the WWE championship.
Next is a 2 on 1 handicap match. LayCool vs Natalya for the Womens championship. I couldn't care less so I didn't watch.
Natalya is the new Womens champion.
LayCool attack her and Beth Phoenix makes the save.
Edge vs Kane (World Heavyweight Championship)
Edge ran out, then ran backstage again. He was a wheelchair with him but no one on it. Kane is furious. This match is a slow brawl which is pretty even to begin with and stays this way through most of it. Edge gets out of the chokeslam and is setting up for the spear and gets a big boot for his troubles. Kane hits the chokeslam, goes for the pin and Edge kicks out at 2. Kane goes for the tombstone piledriver but Edge weasles his way out, takes a run and hits a SPEAR!! SPEAR!! SPEAR!! he falls onto Kane and gets the pin. The ref handed the title to Kane, though and talks to Tony. Apparently both wrestlers shoulders were down so this match is a tie.
Result: Kane wins. (Tie)
Kane attacks Edge after the match. They start to brawl outside the ring. Edge hits a drop toe hold on Kane into the steps and throws him into the ring post. He sets Kane up in the wheel chair and wheels him through the crowd barrier near the commentary tables.
Cena is sitting backstage and Barrett sits with him and talks about how in this very arena the Nexus attacked Cena for the first time. Wade explains how Cena needs to do his job tonight and he'll be free from Nexus forever. Cena says he remembers this building and that night. He says Barrett needs to remember, no matter what happens, when the time is right, he knows exactly what he's doing.
Heath Slater & Gabriel vs Santino and Kozlov
I can't believe this match is happening AFTER the World title match. Seems pretty stupid to me. Striker mentions that Santino has been training Sambo with Kozlov. Santino starts with some crappy comedy attempts for a crowd reaction. Kozlov is in now and surprisingly is getting beaten down. This match has been pretty bad and it's quite boring. Slater hit his finisher and got the pin after Santino was distracted by Nexus members on the outside.
Result: Heath Slater & Gabriel win.
The GM sound plays. Now Cole is going to talk. Damn. And he qoutes, as a reminder, in the up coming WWE championship match, Nexus is banned from ringside. If any member of Nexus attempt to get involved they will be suspended.
I'll keep updating this.
Wade Barrett vs Randy Orton (WWE Championship)
A video package of Cena is shown. I think R-Truth is going to be involved somehow. Just a hunch, though. They take a while to get the match going. It's mostly staredowns and lockups then looking over at Cena. I was surprised to hear "Randy sucks" chants too. Orton is in control, then Barrett takes over. Cena is calling the match down the middle. The fight sprawls outside and Barrett is taking advantage of the surroundings, slamming Orton into anything he can to weaken the Viper. The fight is taken back in the ring now and is still not so interesting. They start exchanging blows (Yeah, that didn't sound gay) and Orton gains momentum. He hits a body slam and clotheslines Barrett to the outside. Back in the ring now and Orton hits his vintage back breaker. It's back and forth still and the match doesn't seem like it's close to a finish just yet. Barrett hits a black hole slam and goes for a pin, he gets annoyed when Cena counts only a 2. (Orton kicked out) All the kiddies are saying "LETS GO CENA" but obviously the adults are letting their hatred for Cena over power their chants. Barrett hits the Wasteland on Randy. Cena counts 2 but Orton grabs the bottom rope. Wade is in Cena's face now and pushes Cena. Cena pushes him back and Orton RKOs him, Orton goes for the pin and gets the 3 count.
Result: Randy Orton wins. Cena is now fired.
So apparently now Cena is fired. Out come Nexus and they're beating down Orton and Cena but they fight them all off. Orton and Cena are in the ring and John goes to get the title. The fans are singing the goodbye song to Cena. If only he were really fired... He hands Orton the title and they hug. Randy celebrates and leaves. Cena is in the ring still soaking up the crowds chant, he takes his wristbands off and puts them on the canvas, he sulutes the audience. He hugs Cole, The red hat guy and heads up the ramp.
The whole PPV was disappointing and left a lot to be desired.
Result: Daniel Bryan wins via submission.
