Christy Hemme was standing on the entrance ramp waving to the crowd in attendance as "Heart Attack" by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour was blasting through the PA system. With the setting for "Hot Spot" prepared, the feisty redhead made her way down the ramp, shaking hands, blowing kisses and even stopping to take a selfie with a fan. Finally, getting up to that ring, with a microphone already in hand, she flashed the crowd a perfect smile and waited till the music died down.
Christy: What an amazing audience!! I am proud as always to welcome you all to another spectacular edition of the pioneering GZWA interview show, "Hot Spot". Of course, I am your humble servant, "The Rockin' Interviewer" Christy Hemme. Tonight our guest is someone we don't know too much about. He is powerful, mysterious and actually, quite the gentleman. With a spectacular performance not only on Primetime, but also at our last PPV against the "Cuban Hooligan" Rocky Romero, please help me welcome to the ring a force to reckon with in the industry. "The Dream Killer" Ry Drake!!!
Ry: Thanks for having me, I don't do interviews so forgive me if i get nervous. No wonder this show is called Hot Spot.
Christy flashed him a sympathetic grin as she sat down and took a quick glance at her cue cards. Looking back at Ry she didn't hesitate to start the interview.
Christy: Please, speak whatever comes naturally to you. Let's start this interview talking about your performance at our biggest summer PPV "Devils May Cry". You stood toe to toe in that ring with the vicious and aggressive Rocky Romero. The match was brutal to say the least, yet after all that your body had to go through, you still came out on top. What were your thoughts when the referee raised your hand in victory?
Ry Drake leans back in his seat and take a sip of water,
Ry: My thoughts......I can't say that I have any other than go out to the ring and kick ass. I don't care if they are 7 feet tall or have an army with them. If I'm in that ring I'm fighting. If my matches don't have any blood in it mine or theirs then I had a off day.
Well, what were your thoughts about Rocky Romero both as a in ring performer and as a person? You first hand got to feel his brutal nature after you stood up in the aid of the Beautiful Dragon herself, Mei Long and ended up in the midst of their dramatic breakup. Do you think that maybe the distraction caused by Mei Long at the begin of the show, when she officially ended their relationship helped you out in the match?
Ry: No I don't think it was because of that, If Rocky knew how to keep his work and personal life separate than he would have been more focused on the match. This is the reason in most cases I try to go alone, I know a few times I was teaming with Long but that is only a temporary thing.
Ry Drake takes another sip of water and continues
Ry: A few days ago a fan asked me on Twitter if there was going to be a tag team with Mei and myself and I shot him down not because she is a bad wrestler but because people are just unstable. People say I'm unstable or insane but I just say look in the mirror. Rocky, The Authority and Mei to a degree are all unstable hell if you compared me to the rest of the roster I'm the sanest muthaf#cka here!
The crowd erupted into cheers after Ry's statement as Christy gave them all a moment to settle down. Looking back at her guest with a smile gracing her face, she continued the interview.
Christy: So as I understand, no run for the the Tag Team titles?
You could see that she was teasing a bit as she laughed lightly.
Christy: Well, we saw you perform chilling stunts in the ring and we know that you have a professional outlook on the business. What molded these character traits in you as a wrestler? Was it training with someone, your upbringing? Or was it spending time around your colleagues?
Ry:*grins* I'm afraid no tag titles for me, I've won too many in looking for singles. But as for my stunts, I don't know I just do whatever looks cool*laughs* if something looks unique then I'll try it. I'm not that big as you can see so I have to do anything to turn the tide.
Christy: Your daredevil wrestling style... Who was it based on? Did you have wrestlers you looked up to and tried to imitate? At least in the beginning of your career?
Ry: I would say I look up to average build wrestlers, the Daniel Bryan's, Chris jerichos or Rey mysterios. Oh and Dean Ambrose for the daredevil stunts I guess I would try to mix all four in my own style and the rest is history. But let me ask you a question: Why interview me? im just a simple man with not too much going on.
Christy: I interview everyone wrestling for the company. Every single athlete have a life story, want to be shown in the best possible light and get to say what is on their minds. That is why the show was created. But let us not switch roles of who is the guest and who is the interviewer, shall we?
With the crowd once again starting to chant Ry Drake's name, Christy takes a quick glance at her question cards.
With the high-flyer movies of Rey Mysterio and the daredevil stunts of Dean Ambrose combined into one person, who would be a dream opponent for you to face in the ring?
Ry: I would say Chris Matthews and maybe even for his TV Championship. I know how some men can be drawn to World Championship but world titles never interested me all to much. I like the intercontinental, U.S. Belts whether than World Championship. Not saying I would be mad to win it. As of late I've been just briefly been watching Matthews and I think I can take em.
The crowd cheers at the sound of that.
Ry: I see I'm not the only one who wants a match to happen.
Christy: I think Serena Dent and our boss, ZX, just got some food for thought. And personally, I think a match between you two for the Championship match could easily become a contender for Match of the Year. But now it is time to move on to our Twitter questions, which you can send in using the hashtag "Hot Spot". The first one comes from @_LizzzieFlame: Why did you choose the nickname "Dream Killer" and what does it mean to you?
Ry: Well Liizzie I wasn't always the sweet love able person you see here today. I had a bit of a mean streak coming out of training at House of Truth school in Detroit. At the time I was using a modified arm bar so I would "kill any of my opponents dreams of wrestling again" and I really hated the dreamcast. *laughs*
Christy: @ajpaigebrooks asks: Since a lot of wrestlers these days turn to the film industry and tries themselves out as actors, would you ever try for a movie career?
Ry: Believe me you do not want to see me act in movies. My school projects are as far as I will go. Well I shouldn't say that, I thought I'd never be a wrestler and look at me now. So I'll just say this if GZWA goes Hollywood, I'd give it a shot at the very least.
And the last Twitter question comes from @jackiesparrow455. She asks, what does your training routine look like while you are preparing for a match?
Ry: My training routine......I might be the laziest superstar here. Before the match I woke up and just ate 3 chili dogs, then just did yoga. Yes everyone I do yoga, revoke my man card.*laughs* I kid I'm not a big gym person myself so I just do my own exercise at home. If you watch dragon ball Z I'm like Goku, I eat like crazy and fight like hell.
And I am sorry to say that it is all of the time we have tonight. Thank you so much, Ry, for accepting our invitation and appearing on the show. I definitely hope to see more of your interviews and, of course, in that title bout against Chris Matthews. But for tonight I have to say, that this was GZWA's Hot Spot, with your fiery host, the Rockin' Interviewer Christy Hemme. Goodnight, and have a pleasant tomorrow.
The camera zooms out showing Christy Hemme standing up and shaking Ry's hand while exchanging smiles and kind words as the crowd cheers the two on, while "Heart Attack" by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour is playing in the background. Soon enough the scene cuts to commercial break.
