Ice Skating. Newark, Ohio. Tuesday 24th November.
It's been awhile since a man who won his first match since debuting a few weeks ago in Ground Zone Wrestling Association and it happens that today, he's visiting a very small little place called Newark, Ohio. A man who was scheduled to face against Kuro Hayabusa in the best of three series, but found out recently that he's no longer around GZWA so he's now facing against a man who's lived up to his legacy within the company. Stefan Raab knew he has a very tough test ahead of him when he found out he's facing against Ryan Kendrick.
Like the first opponent, Stefan has never clashed heads with him before and again Stefan had to study long and hard about Ryan, especially it was a last minute change and it was good for Stefan because he knew he could depend on Ryan fulfilling his potential like he expects. He's inside of the ice skating rink called Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena where it's a very small place and you could either hire skates or bring you're own and in Stefan's case, he brought his own since he does skating in his spare time and knew this place was totally for him and he has a camera above his helmet and it wasn't facing in front of the ice, it's facing in front of him as he begins to speak.
Stefan Raab: “Sometimes in life, you don't always get what you want on having a match against Kuro in the best of three series and I was really disappointed because I wanted to compete against him so bad and he's a wrestler that I really gave a lot of respect to. So Xion phoned me to say he found a replacement to face against a man who really is the reason why I'm here in this Newark place. This ice skating place is exactly where I belong and it represents me of being known as The Iceman, but right now, we are gonna talk about my opponent who's known as The Straight Edge Juggalo, Ryan Kendrick.”
Stefan still feels very disappointed in himself that he didn't get the chance to for fill his potential in the best out of three series which had to be change. Stefan's going a little crazy skating through on the ice, feeling the shivers in himself, feeling so good about himself right now and nobody has up setted Stefan since he got in GZWA and he speaks again.
Stefan Raab: “Ryan, bare with me on this because you was a last minute replacement that I don't know much about you, but I did have the time to study and watch some of you're recent matches. I feel you are actually a very talented wrestler who actually belongs in the company. You really do win a lot of matches in you're career and because of that, I have to respect you. I feel you honestly should've had a lot more title shots just because you're wins far outweigh nearly everyone else around GZWA apart from Carnage's that is. You're moves are almost the same as my last opponent, but less of martial arts moves. I feel you will be my toughest test yet since I've joined GZWA and I know you will bring the fight to me.”
Stefan couldn't lie with that because he knew that speaking the truth was the key to success around the wrestling business and he's not gonna hate him that much because there's nothing to hate with Ryan Kendrick at all and he continues skating while speaking about the match.
Stefan Raab: “I read about when you debuted in two thousand and eleven that you did what I did and that's win you're first ever match in GZWA against John Morrison and Jetstream and you really won all you're matches prior to that only until before the Riot Control PPV came around where you got eliminated by Dean Maddoxxx, but you did win the match at the PPV against Alkertraz in a street fight. You see, I just can't hate on that because I'm bound to get a loss someday here in GZWA and everyone does because it makes them pick themselves up and push on to their full potential.
Then you had a very barbaric battle between Omega and Danger Breed which seems to be very interesting when I read about it and I was like wow, that kid just doesn't have any signs of quit in his body to keep picking himself up and continue wrestling. What I like about you even more is unlike me where I'd let myself get beaten since I'm completely against using weapons is you continued to fight back, even with all the hate right at you from both teams and I know you hit a fireball towards Omega, but I don't think that was a wise decision dude. I mean I know accidents happen, but I don't approval of people starting fire on purpose. I just hope you won't with me because I wouldn't want to have a match like that against you, but so far, that's the only thing so far I've said that I don't like about you.”
Stefan knew during time that he was gonna find some errors in Ryan Kendrick's ways of fighting, especially he had to being his opponent. Stefan fell a few times, but he gets up and continues skating and it's mostly down to him not watching where he's going and does more ice skating as he speaks again.
Stefan Raab: “You know what I was impressed by the most about the whole thing? The fact that you refused to take time off from wrestling, dedicating yourself to this business in a whole new level by continuing to fight, even with the beating and injuries you've sustained from Omega, you continued fighting for GZWA's honour. I'm beginning to have more respect for you than I did in the beginning and that's because you have a never say die attitude and not many wrestlers these days wrestle with a slight injury. I had a torn MCL on my left knee to compete in my second match and I got respected for it because I was defending for my wife's honour, but you were more impressive by continuing to fight, even for the GZWA title too.
I know you must've beaten yourself up after having to take some time off from this business because of an injury you got from Omaga, but if I would've been there, I would give you a ton of respect and I do just from reading about it online. I wish I had the chance to watch those matches you had, but I didn't because it's a last minute replacement. I think you have a lot of heart and passion to be in this business. You really do Ryan.”
Stefan was struggling to find some negatives with Ryan Kendrick because of what he's actually done from not being champion in GZWA and he felt Ryan should've had more opportunities for title shots in the company. He continues skating, but he quickly had fans gathering around him as it got to a point where he got off the ice to sign some autographs and pose for pictures, even the adults and teenagers wanting autographs from him as he went back out on the ice and continued skating as he does with talking about the match.
Stefan Raab: “I mean if I was putting myself in weapon matches, I would've turned them all down and that's because I prefer to wrestle to win fairly without the use of weapons, not like my twin brother Markus Lord Raab who would compete in every weapon match you place him in, but I kinda feel you was forced to and you wanted to as well, but you don't have to worry about that because I won't force you to compete against me in weapon matches and I prefer if you don't because I want to see what you can really do against me. I want to see you're skills shine in GZWA and help develop that hidden talent you have in the ring to make you a serious title contender.
I know that's exactly what you came back for to capture some GZWA gold and honestly, I would let you get that title shot first because you've really earned you're spot in the company. Two years later though, you came back to GZWA and decided to place an open challenge to anyone in the back which takes balls to do and then instead of facing against The Extreme Enigma, you both formed up as The Extreme Juggalo's which is a fitting name for the pair of you, even winning a few matches as a team too which is very impressive to advance through to the finals of the tournament where you had another chance to win an GZWA title and unfortunately, you and Extreme Enigma came up short.”
There's more positives than negatives so far in Ryan Kendrick's career about what he's done and even achieved without winning a title which is even more impressive from Ryan as Stefan does a few ice skating tricks on doing the axle and spinning on the ice, feeling in his mind he feels like he's really relaxed, even knowing what he's doing out there.
Stefan Raab: “I would've been so upset if I was there to see that match where you lost because of Laura Jackson capturing the titles first because of the amount of hard work you've put into this business is amazing. I actually want to like you, but there's something that speaks a tiny bit of arrogance sometimes which is another thing I'm not too fond of, but at least you acknowledge your losses in the company and that's exactly what I do as well to face up and admit my losses, especially fair ones. I forgot about mentioning you're mentor of a guy called Sting and I have to say, he seems to be an excellent mentor and I think if it wasn't for him, you wouldn't be here now.
The guy has made you to be a world class wrestler and that's what you are, a world class wrestler and I for one would love the opportunity to do the best of three series because I know we'd put out some fantastic matches and I can't wait to face against you in the match tomorrow night because you are a challenge this Iceman needs. A challenge that's ready and competitive to go. I take you extremely seriously and I even think you can beat me just because of the amount of experience you have over me in wrestling, just the only things I have against you are using weapons, the fireball situation and the red mist.”
Stefan hadn't really gotten into that part as he hadn't really seen a mist come out of people's mouth's before, but he knows it can easily hurt people's eyes, not being able to see for a few minutes and he wonders what sort of fight Ryan will bring to the ring and he continues skating, even being like a bird in some places and he speaks again.
Stefan Raab: “I hope you won't use that mist in my eyes because that would be kinda cheating to gain a win out of something like that. I hope you will bring every single ammo at me with you're in ring skills and produce a match that will have the whole of the GZWA universe talking online and offline in the wrestling business. I expect on you're return that you want to take things easy because to feel the ring rust again, but here's the thing dude, I won't because there's the amount of confidence I have to be able to win this match. I'm aware Ryan you haven't lost many matches, but I just have to be positive about this and I'm not doubting the fact you can beat me because of what you can bring, especially the fact you're speed can help you win over me because that's my weakest point in wrestling is my stamina.
That is where you'd beat me at and I really dislike to say this, but it's most likely the only thing you can beat me at since everywhere else on the side of things, I'm stronger or strongest at and I can't wait to face you and see what you got because I know you have a ton of talent to beat me, but the thing that's gonna cost you is the skill I have and you can even make me tap out as well to win since I'm not very good at coping with pain, but I'll try my best and we'll tear the house down of GZWA and all I have to say is good luck Ryan because you are gonna need it, especially only one wrestler will win that match and that will be me as I'll have my body covered with ice and you being able to possibly break this German ice block is a possibility in this match. Bring it on.”
For another two hours, Raab continues skating on the ice like crazy, even pretending to have an ice hockey stick in his hand and scoring goals with it, even if there's no goal posts there. He done a lot of ice skating tricks again before he walks back to the changing area of skates where he places his shoes back on along with his bag with items in and he places it over his back and walks out of the Ice skating arena and he grabs a taxi to get to the airport on flying back to Los Angeles, California, before driving home to Anaheim, California.
