With GZWA Riot Control on the horizon a few GZWA wrestlers were on the media trail to promote the big event. Daniel Widdel graciously made an appearance at a local high school for their wrestling team. He did a meet and greet and offered advice to the youngsters to inspire them on their journey of endeavouring going further in the sport or just amounting to anything. Daniel did some photo ops, posing with fans and goofing off. He posed with barbell in his tailored suit like it was an effortless thing to him. The fans cheered which always stroked Daniel’s ego, he always liked the attention.
After all the festivities, Daniel allowed a Q&A session with fans asking me him questions. The first boy stood up to ask the inital question.
“Hi, Daniel. Long time GZWA fan and I just wanted to say welcome back! Been a big fan of your work.”
Daniel nodded. “Thanks man, it’s a great feeling to be back. Glad someone appreciates my works and remembers me.”
“I heard at GZWA Xplosion you’re wrestling in a fatal four way for the GZWA Television Championship. I hope you win, seriously man… But, I heard you wanted to go for the GZW Heavyweight Championship too, so what is your game plan?”
“This is a pretty damn good question, mate.” Daniel nodded again, rubbing his chin.” I may spend a few minutes on this actually.”
Daniel was adjacent from the microphone stand and took the microphone off to pace around a little.
“You see, when I came back to GZWA my plan was to take that Television Championship off that undeserving holder - Chris Matthews. That man is a cancer to wrestling and if those rumours of him leaving are true, well good riddance. What he did to Delta was unforgivable and that man couldn’t even take responsible for his actions. I do see there have been two other men gunning for that championship belt for a couple of months, Ry Drake and Jaser Cruz. I was blinded by my hatred of one man so I suppose I interrupted their little thing going on. But I can’t be held responsible for that because you never know when someone who is more viable is going to sweep in and take advantage of an opportunity.”
“Now with the GZWA Heavyweight Championship to be defended in a Riot Control match, it does make going for the Heavyweight Title more desirable. I’ve always wanted that top belt, I’ve never reached that pinnacle. Could I do the impossible and score both belts? It wouldn't hurt to attempt such a thing. I already heard Ry Drake proclaim he wants to do the very same thing, Why the hell can’t I? I’m clearly more appealing and proficient than the “Phantom Menace” dude. I have a better chance than any of the three of the guys in this fatal four way of making such an accomplishment. So the answer to your question…. What is your name?”
“Blaze” The boy responded.
“Blaze… Cool name dude…. So the answer to your question, Blaze is both belts are on the cards for me. No matter what, I’m going to win either one or both.”
Daniel signaled for the next question for another person.
A coach of the wrestling team came up to the stand. She was a female, roughly mid to late 30’s range, with her blonde hair tied up in a bun. “Hi, my name is Colleen, I just want to say I’m really a big fan of your wife Amiee Vaughan Widdel and I want to say congratulations to the birth of your twin girls.”
“Thank you sweetheart. and yes… They are named Ariadne and Anakne and they are already daddy’s little girls.”
“I just wanted to ask you, will your wife be joining you back in GZWA?” Colleen finished her question.
“Next question.” Daniel bluntly shut down the woman.
Colleen was taken aback by Daniel’s harsh response. Daniel pouted and grinned at the woman with his glistening green eyes.
“I’m kidding beautiful. The best person you could ask that is the woman herself, but you never know with her. She’s always does what she pleases and if she shows up, she will show up. But I can directly say that Amiee has no interest in an in-ring career again, especially now she’s juggling her acting career and children. But never say never.”
Colleen took a sigh of relief and thank Daniel for answering her question.
“Okay, I have time for one last question. Come on guys, this better be good!”
Another young boy came to the stand. “Who and what inspired you to be a wrestler?”
“Ahhh… good one. Watching wrestling was a social event for me, me and my friends would circle around the TV and watch whatever was the biggest wrestling show airing. At the time, I never really had the interest to undertake a wrestling career. My big dream was to become a rockstar and what young boy didn’t have that dream? As I got to your age, I found martial arts which I begun to train and work on my form. I went to college to study and found myself working as a MMA fighter from advice by a mentor. But the end of 2008 I left MMA due to an altercation and found myself in wrestling by my wonderful wife, Amiee Vaughan. It was different roads, leading to another. I’m very thankful that I choose to get into wrestling and was able to make another return. I hope this time I stay for the long haul as a champion!”
The fans clapped in appreciation of the appearance of Daniel at their school. “Thank you guys for having me! Remember to tune in to Xplosion and watch Riot Control when I become the Television and Heavyweight Champion!”
