“Well, what a way to kick start the Stardom Tag Team tournament. A Fatal-4- Way match with legends.”
“Uh…..they are legends?”
*sighs*“Yes, Rocky. Legends.”
The scene begins with an overall view of a small ventilated gymnasium. A plain black ring with a white canvas covers the majority of the area. Overhead lights barely shine the area, since most of it comes from the natural light from large windows further away from the ring.
Few people are working out in the gym, but two are in the ring. The blazing couple, who may have practiced earlier from the way they are drenched in sweat, sit in the center of the canvas. The woman is still cooling down by stretching her hamstrings, while the man, Rocky, is already relaxing with his legs spread apart. His arms keeping the rest of his body in place behind him.
“Okay okay okay, Mei. I take it back…”
Mei Long pauses, blankly staring at Rocky with judgment. There is usually a “give and take” to Rocky’s compliments, and she is waiting for it.
“…..for Sting and SM Raye. Sting and SM Raye have enough history in the wrestling community to back their shit up at least.”
“So do Raab and Kendrick.”
Rocky Romero goes into thought about that correction, but that goes briefly with a shrug following after.
“Ehh…..whatever.”
Mei continues with her quad stretching.
“Well, legends by my standards. They’ve been wrestling a lot more than I have. Not for decades, but still more than enough to be rewarded that status. You’ve had more experience in wrestling than them, so I would understand why you would think that way. Oddly enough.”
“Tyler Breeze and I would be considered closer to rookie status in this match. We still have enough years to hang with the rest of them, but not enough to guarantee a win with ease, so this may prove to be an educational experience for me. If I thought Genesis and AJ Styles were enough in one match, I could imagine wrestling against four more like them.”
“But this is a tag match, right?”
“Correct.”
“Stefan and SM Raye are a team. Sting and Ryan Kendrick are a team, but who the hell is Tyler’s tag team partner?”
“I believe it’s….Mike Bradley.”
Silence from the ring collides with the overhead air vents and outside people. Suddenly, snickering sneaks its way out from under Rocky’s breath, transitioning to hysterical laughter.
“How appropriate! Two of the most delusional pendejos in the universe are teaming up, and to make it better for us, they already hate each other. ”
“So, do you have any strategies for the match?”
“Well, Mike and Tyler should be a breeze. No pun intended. Those two over-inflated burros will be too busy using their mouths than using the rest of their bodies. It won’t take much effort to just trip them out of the ring and focus on the other two. As far as the other two, just sweep them off their canes and roll em up.”
Mei Long shakes her head.
“Now be serious, Rocky. I know this is only the previews for the Tag Team Tournament, but this is the beginning of a new chapter for us. This is the point where we get to prove to everyone how many improvements we’ve had not only as a power couple, but a team. Plus, we are considered bounties to the Authority. Who knows what role they are going to play in this tournament, since their two henchmen want the Tag Title now. Carnage already has the Heavyweight championship. We can’t let anyone else in that group seize the rest. Not them two. Not Victor. Not Beth. No one.”
“I mean, height and weight class are against us here, but even you manage to overcome that, right? There is much more to this match than using physical strength. We gotta use their weaknesses against them like we’ve been doing before. You know that.”
“….that all does makes sense.”
“See? Even with that cockiness of mine, there is some wisdom hidden in there. Don’t underestimate yourself, Mei. I never do.”
“You know? You are right, Rocky.”
“When am I not?”
Rocky flashes his bright smile. Mei once again shakes her head at him before rising to her feet.
“I guess so. SM Raye shouldn’t be taken lightly after his performance in Riot Control. He is proof that even age doesn’t stop him from achieving the highest goals. He was able to keep himself in the Riot Match, while many others, including myself, failed to at an equal amount of time as him. All of this for his own personal gain. If there is anyone we should really be worried about, it is him.”
“Stefan Raab had taken longer to make a name for himself here. That, and bringing the momentum from the last promotion he was in. I don’t expect him to stop this journey either, whether it is for the tag team title or the heavyweight title. Ryan Kendrick has taken longer than that, and still hasn’t taken the gold.”
“Something else I’ve noticed about this match.”
“What is it Rocky?”
“You are the only Vixen.”
Mei Long chuckles at that statement.
“Indeed. This pattern is nothing new here, but it still goes unnoticed. It especially goes unnoticed to new signees here. I think this Fatal-4-Way should be a great opportunity to show a particular rookie about my abilities.”
“Absolutely.”
