Everyday avid wrestling fans crave to hear the latest news, rumors and sneak peeks on the inside of their favorite wrestling companies. Most admittedly are limited to their knowledge of WWE but there are those that are fans of the sport as a whole and they seek all avenues of news on their favorite programming. This trend is growing but with that the need for credible news updates are in demand. Tapping into an under utilized market the GZWA is leading that front with satellite radio. Ever since the appearance of GZWA Vixen Maryse the demand has grown and fans have been vocal about the want for more. As one of the ambassadors of this new movement and in an effort to show just how valuable a powerful woman can be wreslting icon "Purple Fury" Ivory who is never at a loss for words was given her own show to recap the events of GZWA that lead up to their televised programming be it Primetime, Xplosion, ReAction, perhaps the returning Livewire and of course PPVs. The great thing about this is the Elite Wrestling Network produces this show and it is nostalgic for her because that was a company she helped start before it's purchase by GZWA mastermind Xion Zeros. This week we are preparing for the upcoming Primetime broadcast and a lot has been going on in the GZWA so we tune in for the first broadcast of ISM Inc presents: This week in GZWA (4-4-16).// "Purple Fury" Ivory //
Hello and welcome to the first ever ISM Inc presents: This week in GZWA! This week we are getting ready for a blockbuster Primetime that will hopefully answer some of the questions that Riot Control left us with that were not answered on Xplosion. A lot has been going on in the company and we don't want you to miss one second of the action. None of this would be possible without the GZWA fans that were vocal about their want for more. The GZWA is on the rise and the powers that be heard you so of course they chose me because I'm a proper ambassador for the company. Now for those of you that have followed the ZXWWF you may remember that ISM Inc was a little company that I founded with "The Crown Prince" Samuel Chatman who is currently deployed in service to our nation and noticeably absent from GZWA and "The Sexiest of the Sexy" Maryse. Our goal then and now is to give a voice to those that work hard and have yet to find their voice and need some help managing their careers. I've been in this business a long time and I was excited with all the things happening with Women in Wrestling that I had to be a part of it so this is my way of giving back.
We all know that the Stardom Tag Team Classic Previews have been going on and this week is no exception. The MisFits have had a solid lock on the Tag Team Championship and some say it is because no real credible challengers have stepped to the forefront to take on the powerhouse team of Casey Cortez and Laura Jackson. I know that most people focus on winning the GZWA World Heavyweight Championship and the GZWA Vixen's Championship but this championship sits idle and unnoticed and when you have champions that have gotten comfortable on their grip on the belts, and it takes a jolt to bring this back to the spotlight. Amiee Vaughn has been very vocal on Twitter about her lack of faith in the "Queen of Submission" Casey and constantly taunts her with a Thesaurus to make her vocal muscles match those of her arms. I did a survey and Casey seems to be the half that is most known of this team but these days every girl has a famous submission move and is Casey's claim to fame all hype? Laura Jackson is there and we heard from both member of the team this week and I have to wonder what the thought process is behind what they had to say. They are being forced to play nice with others this week to answer the destruction of "The Enforcers" and Laura talked about playing nice one second and then destroying her own teammates if they got in her way. One would think that you would want your team to help you because The Enforcers are all on the same page and a solid unit but you are drawing attention to your division as a team and making this consolidation seem like a daunting task that you nonchalantly will dismiss in the heat of the moment. Everyone has bad moods and Laura did not hide the fact that she was in a bad mood this week but hopefully she and Casey find a way to get past themselves and the overall complacency they have because of past victories.
The other half of the team Casey is focused on one thing and one thing only...Revenge! Now revenge can be a good motivator but it can lead to blind rage that causes mistakes that can end up being very costly. Sure you get the opportunity to hurt those that have hurt or embarrassed you but Casey seems to be relying on her power when the opponents on the opposite side of that card have power, speed, are technical geniuses and of course solidarity and a common goal that drives them. Casey commonly refers to everyone as idiots but will her revenge make her the idiot this week. Now I agree with her, she did not tap on Xplosion but come on girlie how can you tap when you are passed out? That is what I mean by her claim to fame being matched and if The Enforcers do not show you up then this Stardom Tag Team Classic will. Simply put I agree you and Laura have knocked down every challenge that was thrown at you but now you are facing more than one challenge and each one of these teams be it they have been together for a while, or it is a newly formed team looking to advance their careers, or in Maryse's case simply mentoring a great talent like Alex McFly and making her better to rise to platforms that they are destined to reach or so she says. Casey cannot rely on those past victories to carry her. Simply put no one is afraid of you anymore. Sure you have that whole muscle thing going but last week proved that while you may not submit, you can be made to pass out and have shown that weak link in your armor. You are dismissive of your competition and that may lead to your ultimate downfall.
Moving on..her tag team partners all had things to say this week. Let's start with Ry Drake and his Table for One. The ever colorful language of Mr. Drake was on display and once you move past the venting, you have to focus on what he is saying. He prefers a solid 1 on 1 contest but that is not the fight you are in at the moment. Here is another person on this team saying they do not want or need anyone watching their back but his logic is more sound than the previously discussed MisFits. People will let you down and there are A LOT of egos in this match but one has to wonder is the back stabbing going to come from Mr. Drake himself? It is no secret that he does not care for the GZWA Television Champion Daniel Widdel his "best friend" and Amiee but can he move past that to answer the challenge of The Enforcers? Sure he had a lot of wisecracks but will that be enough this week? "The Statement" Victor Phillips called him a cakewalk and he took offense to that but if someone on this team besides Delta and Daniel do not come on board with the "Team" concept then they are all just individuals with targets on their backs that The Enforcers will dismantle with ease. Still with the jokes he did say something interesting that I want to highlight to our Heavyweight Champion Carnage, three powerbombs and a splash was not enough to finish him off and he is still standing. Will his high tolerance for pain be the factor that grants this team the miracle they need to win? The Enforcers can not win if they can't manage to keep Ry Drake down.
Now our champions Daniel and Delta have definitely taken their lumps from "The Machine" but they are using it as fuel for the fire and desire to show the world what they are made of. I spoke of "The Statement" Victor Phillips and he apparently struck some nerves and this week Daniel was not shy of addressing them head on. He blatantly stated that Vic is simply over confident and attempting to steal his schtick. Daniel has never hid the fact that he is actively working to elevate the Television Championship to it's full potential like the days when Brandon "Genesis" Payne held the title and I have to say that he makes the title run interesting. It did not take "The Machine" to set their eyes on the title for contenders to appear as with the Tag Team championship. Daniel has a locker room of athletes that actively vie for that title so he is doing exactly what he says he is and making that title a strong staple in the company. He sent his own "statement" to Victor saying "I'm the real deal, I'm the FACE of GZWA. I don't need a power hungry group to elevate me to get my way." I have to say that it is refreshing to see someone stand up and say I'm relevant because of me and not selling my soul to get there. Now don't get me wrong Victor is a pioneer in this business and has proven himself but one would have to argue that this "selling out" has cast a dark cloud over that past but I have said it time and time again every story needs a villain and right now that is VIctor. Attacking this champion may be a costly mistake. Delta Madison has been in the background trying to organize a meeting with her team and hopefully that was successful because someone has to be the voice of reason on this team. That proves why Delta has been winning everything in sight lately coming off an impressive win of the Vixen's Championship at Riot Control she finds herself head on facing Beth Phoenix who it took a joint effort of Raven, Mariah and Delta to take down during the Championship match but this week will Delta have that same solidarity with her team? Now don't get me wrong I'm not trying to imply that Delta could not have beaten Beth without the moments of working together for survival because she has proven time and time again from winning the 2015 Queen of Queen Tournament to some very decisive wins in the ring to now being our Vixen's Champion that she can overcome any hurdle thrown in her way but everyone seems to have their own agenda in this match and Beth has a team at her disposal to this time have someone help her take it to Delta and will anyone be there to assist our Vixen's Champion?
Switching gears because it seems the name of Victor Phillips was on a lot of lips this week and Stefan Raab is another one who was vocal with his displeasure of Vic this week. Raab is a man who takes competitive matches very seriously and he feels that the interferrance of Vic in his match against Ry Drake was insulting. Now this is a shining example of what I spoke of when it comes to the passion behind that Television Championship and in Raab's opinion he had the match won against Drake but he did not get that pinfall victory he sought. He openly stated that he wished he had a proper match against "The Statement" so he could personally show him just how disgusted he is with him. Still he has his own tag match to focus on and considering the fact that he has never been in the ring with his partner SM Raye some think they are at a clear disadvantage during this match. I am personally on the fence here because on one hand sure they have to iron out the kinks in their team but he is facing Ryan Kendrick who he does know well. I'll just come right out and say this who really expects Mike Bradley and Tyler Breeze to co-exist on the same team? I mean why would they? That has disaster written on it just like I'm sure a ring sign will this week. You have Rocky Romero and Mei Long who know each other well and are a well ironed out group and I have to say they are my favorites to win this match but only time will tell. But more on them in a minute. I mean isn't Tyler one of the people that conspired with the forgettable Nikki Bella to destroy Mike? This should be comical and if we can get Tyler to stop stealing the compacts of the GZWA Vixens and focus on his wrestling then maybe they would have a chance but I simply do not see it. Raab acknowledged "The Icon" Sting had trained Kendrick so another team that some are saying are in the forefront of winning this match but Raab has been training non-stop and will that give him the edge he needs to win this match? Only time will tell.
His partner SM Raye teases an answer to a question this week that he says is common, what motivates him, what makes him tick, what drives him? Now he had a lot to say about prior injuries, some self inflicted and some caused by others but he says one little voice pushes him to continue to become the best that this industry has ever seen. Now he admittedly stated that a Tag Team wasn't his specialty but he promised to manage this. He previously had some issues with the Straight Edge Saviors but he knows his partner has bested him and is confident in that victory and knowledge to help them win. One thing about this guy is he doesn't take his opponents lightly and that may be what this team needs to stand a chance here. Mei Long and Rocky Romero talked about Legends this week and what their definition of legends are. One thing everyone focused on was that disastrous pairing of Tyler Breeze and Mike Bradley and that fact that both use their mouths rather than their wrestling abilities to propel them but the absolute hate they have for one another puts an archery sized target on their back making them my prediction to be the first two outside the ring with injuries and real match will begin when this Fatal 4-Way turns into a Triple Threat Tornado Tag Match. Mei spoke of this being a new chapter for the pair and a chance to prove to everyone the many improvements they have made not only as what she calls a power couple but also as a team. It's good that Maryse can inspire her to strengthen her relationship but a power couple I think not. Still I think Maryse enjoys inspiring these women to be better because at the end of the day that is all she wants to do.
So while I'm discussing Maryse let's talk this situation with her and Alex McFly. Now unless you've been living under a rock this tag team is swirled in controversy. In a completely surprise move Maryse asked Alex to form a team and enter the Stardom Tag Team Classic together. Understandable so McFly is real apprehensive about this partnership. Maryse has never been known as a women having good intentions towards anyone other than herself and lately her husband but she is really selling this whole "new you" version of herself and I'm almost convinced that her marriage has caused her to mature and that she really wants to take Alex to the next level while advancing her career in the process. A solid win and good showing in this Tag Team Classic will obviously elevate their standings and with women like Didgitz, Ashley Wonder and Joanna Tarzana not really saying much or doing anything with their Riot Control momentum they are the woman standing out in the Vixen's division other than our champion Delta. This week they take on "Wonder Girl" Ashley Wonder & Ashleigh Cash and Ashley who has really been inactive since her last feud with the Power Girls came back to light this week and talked about this new chapter in her life. She has cobwebs to shake off but stated that she has been training with Ashleigh so we will see who prevails. Now both Alex and Maryse have been vocal and one has to think momentum favors the two to be the favorites to win the match. This Alex McFly comes from a humble background and she has the passion to win and succeed and I think that will cause her to put her best foot forward. Personally I love to see how all these women consistently doubt Maryse and acknowledge her beauty but underestimate her in the ring. I personally believe that is how she stole the show in that Pay-Per-View opener at Riot Control and Alex my dear you already underestimated your partner once and look where that got you. I think you should be prepared for anything but one thing I know about Maryse is she is always on the prowl for a win and right now the deck is in your favor, she made her return but she needs momentum so in a way she needs you just as much as you need her. Whatever you've got going on within you, accept this for what it is and take this new version for however long it lasts because quite frankly Maryse my dear you don't have me fooled that you are this "new" person but I acknowledge you are trying. Maryse is making you into the villain here Alex and no matter how hard you try the fact is you do look like the bad guy in this situation. Still those two have made great opponents and that will make them a great tag team because they know each other's strengths and weaknesses. They noticeably don't have the cobwebs that Wonder has and who knows what is on Cash's mind. I really expect to see great things out of this team of Maryse and McFly.
Now this was addressed in several of the promos this week but our Vixens are just as tough as our Superstars and the Superstars should not take them lightly. Legends have been training with some of these women and they will embarrass you if you let them. Switching gears here the reason for the GZWA Commissioner's absence came to light this week and the absent Serena Dent took some time because she had a beautiful baby boy. Now again for those of you that followed the ZXWWF of course you know Serena and I have a colored past but I've moved past that and I love her to pieces with all her accomplishments and this is by far one of her best. This is the second child for Dent and husband Christopher Bertrand. Congrats girlie and I wish you nothing buts happiness in your marriage and with your children!
Blake Harper has been recovering and I know for a fact that she has been training with her former lover Wes Danielsion. Everyone has wondered if she would be able to make the transition from the world of MMA to wrestling. This week she has a chance to prove if she has the stamina to go from sprint speed to marathon speed when she takes on Didgitz. Now Didgitz is no slouch in the ring and I have seen pictures of her doing some intense training preparing for this match but Blake can match her power if she can keep that endurance going. This won't be a 34 second match but Blake has something to prove and that is powerful motivation. Will Blake live up to her nickname "Mercy" or will she absolutely destroy DIdgitz this week. My money is on Blake but you have to watch those strong silent types and Didgitz looked impressive at Riot Control. Now earlier I talked a lot about Victor Phillips and this week he put the world on notice that he was refocused and not to be taken lightly. By the way Victor, Samuel told me to tell his mentor hello. I still don't see what he sees in you but whatever. To me you have gone from courageous to coward hiding behind this power group. Now a smart coward but coward none the less. What happened to the Victor Phillips that carried entire divisions on his back and was the reason that people watched wrestling? The best thing you have going for you is that you are "boo'ed up" with "The Ultimate Vixen" Raven. Personally I heard your analysis of your competition and you are right you are a part of a well oiled machine...no pun intended but still your arrogance may be your undoing. Widdel is no kid and while you are focused on him you have the entire locker room that is coming for his championship the proper way to contend with and you are forgetting that. You may have The Machine backing you but you are making more enemies than you realize here. Your focus is on Daniel but it's dangerous to ignore Drake, Raab, Kendrick, Bradley, and many more. They unite with the common goal of taking you out of the picture and then what? What about the guys you trained and mentored to be the best like Samuel? I'm sure you are letting them down with this new found cowardice. But hey you do what works but this time I don't forget those you are cutting to insert your position at the top of the line.
Well folks that's all the time I have this week and be sure to follow GZWA on Facebook, Twitter and of course the ever improving website and tune in for GZWA programming. I'll see you next week after what looks to be a phenominal Primetime. This is Ivory signing off.
