Delta visited her protege and future sister in law, Mercy Williams who lives down in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mercy was in the developmental territory called Lion’s Den FC based in North Carolina and with GZWA’s show in Greensboro, it gave a perfect reason for the duo to meet up. Delta invited Mercy down to experience a GZWA show as part of the ’mentorship’.
Delta sat in the driver's seat of the black sedan rental car with Mercy sitting in the passenger seat. The girls had an hour and a half drive to get to Greensboro and Delta wanted to get to the arena at least before the afternoon hit. Delta was the Vixen’s Champion and the representative of the women in GZWA, so she didn’t want to be tardy. Not like Delta was tardy, Delta always had exceptional time management, except for rare occurrences.
“Who you wrestling on Primetime?” Mercy inquired with her thick Australian accent, whilst she rested her head on the window of the car. She moved her head towards Delta.
“Nikki Bella.” Delta stated, looking quickly towards Mercy’s direction and back on to the road.
“No way! THE Nikki Bella?” Mercy’s face lit up. “Nikki Bella who is Brie Bella’s twin? Wow, that’s awesome. I wish I could wrestle Nikki Bella.”
Delta chuckled. “I’ve wrestled her before, actually. When I debuted in GZWA in 2013, she was my first opponent. And of course, yours truly defeated her.”
“Oh really?” Mercy arched an eyebrow. “That’s pretty sweet.”
“But you know, three years can change everything. Who knows, maybe Nikki can find it in her to get one over me. You know, I’m actually quite excited to finally getting singles competition. I’m was kinda of worried since hearing the unfortunate news of my original opponent’s injury. ”
“Original opponent?”
“Beth Phoenix.”
“Get out!” Mercy’s eyes widen as she exclaimed. Hearing Delta wrestling the likes of Nikki and Beth did make her jealous.
“Hey, don’t be jealous of me. Be jealous of them for wrestling me.” Delta laughed, with Mercy laughing back and shaking her head in agreement.
“I guess you’re right, Delta. I would love to have that chance to wrestle you.”
“Of course you would.” Delta grinned. “How is your training going down in LDFC anyway?”
Mercy paused. “Uhh.. Well. I don’t know. I can’t lie. I do sort of feeling I’m static in a way.”
“What do you mean by static? You’re not progressing?”
“I just feel I’m going through the motions. I’m personally getting sick and tired of defending myself as ‘I’m more than just boobs’. I feel like a broken record, you know what I mean?”
Mercy was a gorgeous girl, without a doubt. She had long brown hair, with lighter ends. Exotic looks with an Australian accent and a great set of boobs. Delta frowned, understanding Mercy’s predicament.
“I get that, I’ve been through that and I still get that to this day. People always tout that I’m a blonde bimbo with boobs. All I could do in response was continue working my way up, now look where I am now. Queen of Queens Tournament winner and Vixen’s Champion. Don’t worry, you will find your niche and things will fall into place..”
“I don’t know. I guess I’m impatient, I just want things to happen for me. For instance, I had that opportunity for the Carolina Cup but I ending up losing.”
“Hey, you’ll get it over time. Or, you can take the shortcut and do what I did in my early career. Sleep to the top so you can get a championship and just be the biggest, annoying bitch who always cheats to win”
Even through Delta was being more sarcastic, than helpful. Mercy pressed her lips together to ponder Delta’s words. Nice girls don’t always get to the top, so maybe, just maybe Mercy should take those words literal.
“Maybe… You got something there.” Mercy nodded her head.
“No, no.” Delta shook her head. She couldn’t bare the thought of Mercy taking that advice to heart. “If you start sleeping to the top then your brother is going to kill me when he finds out I put that thought into your head.”
Mercy laughed. “Don’t worry, I’m not like that. I won’t throw you under the bus.”
Delta took a sigh of relief. Not like Delta had any doubts about Mercy, she knew Mercy was a smart girl and knew how to take care of herself.
“I trust you Merc, do whatever fits best for yourself. You are Mercy Williams.”
“Alright, Mr. Bergstrom.” Mercy quipped.
Delta rolled her eyes. “That’s the last time we’re watching The Simpsons reruns.”
“I can’t help it. I have the earlier seasons on my ipad so that’s all I watch.” Mercy mused before changing the subject. “And, uhh.. Do you think I should I be weary of anyone when we get to the arena?”
Delta raised her eyebrow at Mercy’s plausible question. Not like Mercy needed to be cautious, but there were a few people that were questionable.
“No one in particular, you know how wrestling works. Just stick by me and you will be alright.” Delta really didn’t want to throw any names around. At least Delta’s Ex, was no longer in GZWA so she didn’t have a problem with her co-workers.
“So no one will attack me to send out a message to you?”
Delta shook her head. “No way… Well I don’t think so. I wouldn’t put you in harm's way. What would make you think that would happen here?”
Mercy shrugged her shoulders. “Uhh. It happened to a friend of mine in LDFC.”
Delta pouted, “If you’re worried, I can get Daniel to help you if anything arises.”
“Daniel?”
“Amiee’s husband, and GZWA Television Champion - Daniel Widdel.”
Mercy knew who was the infamous Amiee was. If you knew Delta, you would know of her cousin, Amiee Vaughan Widdel. Mercy had the pleasure of meeting Amiee one time, and surprisingly so, it went well, despite the fact Amiee’s greeting was squeezing her boobs. Mercy hadn’t properly met Amiee’s other half and didn’t want to be too much of a bother.
“You don’t have to worry, I bet he already has a lot on his plate. I’m a big girl, I can fend for myself.”
“That’s true. He was attacked viciously by a chair on the last show, so I don’t think he would be too giddy about giving a helping hand.”
“But you didn’t help him when he was attacked, what kind of friend are you.” Mercy challenged Delta
“Well…” Delta paused for a moment to muster up a response. “I wasn’t booked for that show.”
Mercy gave Delta that one. “Well at least I hope the catering is good. I’m actually starving.”
Mercy patted her tummy. She sort of wish she did order that green smoothie on the way, especially after the workout they did before they left. The car had stopped at a redlight and Delta was able to pick up a unopened water bottle from the cup holder and throw it at Mercy. She thanked Delta, taking a gulp of the water to curb her hunger temporary.
“I don’t get why you’re so worried. You’re brother has come to many GZWA shows and he has never complained like this.” Delta continued driving. Now nearing their destination.
“You know my brother is different, he had nothing to worry about.”
“That’s not true. Mercy, you have to remember that nothing will be perfect. You just gotta live in the moment, trust me. I had to learn that the hard way. I wouldn’t be the GZWA Vixen’s Champion if I weren’t for those life lessons.”
Mercy frowned. She knew Delta was talking in general, not just about coming to GZWA.. “Wise words, Queen.”
“You're damn, right.” Delta laughed.
The duo had just entered Greensboro seeing the big sign coming into their peripheral version. Just on schedule, to the relief of Delta.
