Hello, GZWA fans. This is the 5th edition (3rd of 2017) of this new thread that I'm going to do after every set of results for a while to get feedback and give you guys a behind the scenes look on why I'm going a certain direction in results and booking via creative, thus explaining the methods to my madness so to speak. Feel free to discuss OOC in the comments.
This episode of Primetime was pretty much setting the stage for a lot of new feuds while at the same time throwing more fuel on the fire for existing ones. Everyone that approached me about needing someone to feud/work with are covered now and I'm glad to say that everyone has at least 1-2 people to work with on their feuds/rivalries going forward. Feel free to discuss things with each other among your collaborators via PMs but please keep me in the know on where you're going in terms of helping me out on how I can book the next few cards. FYI I'm shooting for the first PPV of 2017 to be late March or early April at the latest.
BTW I gotta rave about both ❤Knightmare INC and Zora Graysen helping me out on matchwriting this past weekend.
Quick Results:
As noted on the match card preview, I tasked ❤Knightmare INC and BulletxToxThexHeart to collaborate on this opening segment to setup the title match that Xion would book to kick off the show. I didn't have Xion add too much here as they already kicked this off to a great start to lead into the first match. Besides, I didn't want Xion stealing anyone's thunder like how the authority figures in WWE tend to do more often than not. That's one HUGE reason you don't see the authority figures in GZWA unless absolutely necessary in these storylines or promos.
Like Francine said, after a lot of close calls, both Drake's title reign and Miz's undefeated streak remain intact. At the same time here, "The Iceman" Konrad Raab got payback for the humiliation that Drake issued on him during Livewire while continuing his rivalry with The Miz too. See? You may have multiple feuds going on at once and I'll find a way to juggle all of them in the results. Carnage 's appearance was to remind Drake and the audience that he still has a rematch clause and he's going to bank on that sooner more than later. He's not out of the title conversation - not by a long shot. This is an ongoing theme with this episode of Primetime as I'm establishing people as possible contenders for title shots. It's up to you - the handlers - to take the ball and run with it.
Foxy and Nikki's partnership continues to deteriorate, allowing the former Queen Bee Mafia sisterhood to pick up the win. This match and one below were written by ❤Knightmare INC as I didn't give her the finishes out of fairness since it was her own characters involved, but I tasked her with highlighting that strain in Foxy and Nikki's teamwork. The close friends of Tia Brooks and Morgan Davis were easily able to take advantage of the weak links in Team Bella's armor. ❀ℋine 'ea❀ is a woman on a mission to continue to be taken seriously as an in-ring competitor since her return, so I wanted to make sure that she got the win here for her team. If memory serves, I believe this is going to transition into a 1v1 feud between Nikki and Morgan between the two veteran GZWA Vixens.
I believe this will be Samuel 's last match before he returns next month from being in the field for the military. Much like the previous match, Mel kept this one short and sweet and too the point. Patrick picks up the win here to remind readers that his team (with Miz) is still feuding with Sam and Raab's team so this keeps things going on that front. Surprisingly enough, this isn't the last time we see these two on this card.
That's why it pays to read the ENTIRE results, folks. You don't know where I'll end up using your characters outside of your own previously booked matches. I cannot stress it enough when I read promos or tweets on social media where it's clear that people haven't read the entire show. Not saying that has occurred here currently, but it happened a while back in the past. Don't let that be you
I wanted to help both Laura Jackson and SinCityDollz keep their feud going, despite that they both gave me legitimate reasons for missing the deadlines - Laura's handler had some RL complications while Dani (Brooklyn) was hospitalized this past weekend with the flu and a pretty nasty sinus infection. So I had this match act as filler of sorts until they are able to resume this feud at a later date.
I'm looking to have these tag team rivalries lead into a tag team gauntlet match for the titles at the PPV next month. If I'm perfectly honest, I want to get the tag belts off the Enforcers as soon as possible as I never feel right as the fedhead with any title as I rather one of you guys (and gals) who are working so hard to have it instead.
I didn't think of this until AFTER I posted the results, but I wanted to put in a spot here from one of the episodes of WCW Nitro from 1997 that I have been binging on (just Nitro and PPVs, haven't bothered with Thunder LOL) for the past few months. I'm up to early November after Halloween Havoc and of course Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero have a rematch after that pure insanity they had at that PPV. Guerrero counters Rey's Springboard Rana finisher with a Fallaway Slam-style Guillotine onto the ropes behind him. I thought that would've been awesome for Raab to do here, but damn, I left it out. Much like Livewire, ❤Rose❤ requested that Rose continues to be active in Amanda's matches to make it believable to take on a much more technically sound opponent like the veteran Konrab Raab. That's one thing that led me to think about the Eddie Guerrero style finish to this match that I'm sure both ❤Rose❤ and "The Iceman" Konrad Raab got a good kick out of it. I wanted Raab to get the upperhand post-match to establish that he's still the dominant force here while at the same time, putting it out there that Amanda and Rose's tricks will only get them so far.
I know I said that I was going to save this feud for down the road, but I couldn't help it from Raab and Amanda's back and forth exchanges on Twitter so I went ahead and went with it.
I have to thank Susie Price for the last second addition into this match for the post-match segment as well as the special guest commentary. It's obvious that her and @missysippy will be feuding going forward, but keep in mind that didgitz and Zora Graysen will be feuding as well. Once Samuel returns, Ivory and Maryse will continue their feud that I kickstarted here. On that regard, I'll have to pull a ROH TV taping stunt here, starting an angle one week and not continuing it until a few weeks to a month later . One simple match and we got 3 new feuds out of it. (Busts out laughing) WWE can barely do that with the Royal Rumble anymore...
Savvy readers will notice that the flashback was the character development piece that iDream shared a while back out of context. In reality it was a spoiler for this moment we planned out for the Veda Scott storyline. I was going to drag out her "investigation" like an episode of Scooby Doo but I suppose that can be another set of recaps/flashbacks on Primetime for laughs. We have plans to make this entertaining for you guys. I'm honestly rushing this part where Veda has a pawn to line up to her next feud that's around the corner. Thank you Athena for being the perfect person to be the foil to Veda's "master plan" here Also, many thanks to Zora Graysen to tackling this match.
Carnage and I already discussed plans for the next few weeks/months for this feud and the next and I don't want to have Rex and Carnage to have their blow-off match...yet. I didn't want to make this go on for too long either as matches between two "big men" tend to get boring pretty fast - no matter who is in them. I went with Carnage establishing that he wasn't going to let this mountain stand in his way back towards the title. Ry Drake tried to get in a sneaky move in like the "chicken shit" heel that he's portraying like heel Seth Rollins, but that didn't work out so well.
