Hello, GZWA fans. This is the 7th edition (5th of 2017) of this new thread that I'm going to do after every set of results for a while to get feedback and give you guys a behind the scenes look on why I'm going a certain direction in results and booking via creative, thus explaining the methods to my madness so to speak. Feel free to discuss OOC in the comments.
This episode of Primetime felt a little light to me - at least while I was writing it, but I hope you guys and gals enjoyed it for the most part. You guys don't know how hard it was to resist wasting the entire evening after work last night playing Horizon Zero Dawn instead of posting the show after I had that game still sitting in the plastic until I finished.
BTW I gotta rave about both ❤Knightmare INC and Zora Graysen helping me out on matchwriting this past weekend.
Quick Results & Commentary:
I know Athena has unloaded a heavy burden from her shoulders. We went back and forth delaying and sidetracking this reveal for what feels like almost a year now, until she sent me this segment last weekend. Once I read it, I thought heavily about it and flat out agreed with her we need to stop dragging this thing out and pull the trigger on Blake's next stage of her character development. Besides, it's no secret that CM Punk and Blake split up anyway, so we don't have to play up that aspect.
I'm going to go ahead and expose something for GZWA members on why the Gail Kim/Mariah storyline seemed to end abruptly. The finale to that feud is part of the Reinas' special edition that Athena and I are honestly a few days away shy of finishing commentary for along with getting a few other notable extras to warrant a second reading of that event BUT I want to spoil that Mariah gets a rather nasty beating from Gail, so that's why she hasn't been wrestling since Decemeber. In kayfabe, she only recently got medically cleared to compete again (IC DΔShΞR knows), so from a storyline standpoint she's taking it easy for the time being, hence why she's supporting her newfound friend Bobbi here.
Right off the bat I let Bobbi Jackson know that I was going to use Carrie Marie to help her out since I don't mind helping out you folks who don't have something to work with when you're first starting. First time since Carrie's creator gave me the reigns to keep the character under my umbrella and do with her how I see, but I think I had a good idea on how I wanted to play her in her promo and throughout this match. That being said, the match itself was a feeling out process on multiple fronts - One with Bobbi (in kayfabe) seeing that she still can do this after being out of the game so long and secondly, a refresher for myself if I remember how to write one of Bobbi's matches after so many years. I think I had a harder time cooking up a moveset for Carrie than thinking of how to write Bobbi's offense in this though 
Bobbi and TheFrosts plan on making this a feud and this was essentially planting the seeds for that. I'm honored that both of these handlers would like me to join them on the ride for this feud since Mariah will be dragged into the mix to help her friend sooner more than later.
I figured ❤Rose❤ would love that Amanda and Rose are still up to no good here. ❤Knightmare INC wrote this match so I can't take credit for it as I was surprised to see The Miz inject himself into the situation. I was going to ask Mel about that before the show went up but changed my mind about it as I rather just let it rock and see what happens.
At first, I wasn't too keen on Rex Terrell being beaten here, but it wasn't clean so I was fine with it. Besides, it contributes to Amanda and Rose's current theme of foul play and doing anything to win, including cheating and illegal interference.
I'm sad to say but didgitz 's handler tried to get something in but hasn't been able to get anything going since having her laptop go out of commission after having a beverage spilled on it. Might have to improvise on her pending feud with Zora Graysen , but I think I might have an idea that I'll mention later in this feedback thread. I didn't want to setup anything here what would start their feud if Didgitz wasn't ready to contribute yet, but still wanted to keep her and Zora involved here in the action.
As for this match, I wanted to make sure Susie had a sound debut while making everyone else contribute something to the excitement here. @missysippy requested to take one for the team here to add to her feud with Susie to toss more fuel on that fire. I have no problem with that if that's how they've agreed how they want to route that feud.
What really caught me off-guard was Foxy turning on Nikki. Mel gave me a heads-up after the fact when she sent her segment in, but I try not to read segments until I'm putting the show together for I won't be spoiled to too much beforehand. ❤Knightmare INC I can't remember if you were planning on dropping one of them or not though. Can you clarify?
This was a rather tricky match since it's their first encounter and to be fair, I didn't write this one. I gave that honor to Zora Graysen , which she did an excellent job on to say that she's still fairly new to knowing the talent here.
The only thing I gave her details on was that the Hellions were at ringside but weren't going to get involved in any shape or form, as directed by Athena herself.
Both women did strong promos this week (give yourselves a hand for really making me stress out on judging those), but I felt that Blake earned the win here for this encounter. From a storyline standpoint, I can easily see Morgan bouncing back from this loss no problem, given how determined she is for the gold. The win also gives Blake more bragging points with her persona of boasting about how the MMA fighters are superior to the wrestlers, until some inevitably proves her wrong.
If you all missed Xion's conference call with Veronica Rae, but he revealed that the Vixen Championship will have a new champion crowned at Final Encounter. I can proudly say that both Blake and Morgan are a lock for spots in that match which I'm positive will be a six pack challenge for the PPV.
I know that Xion says IC that the newer Vixens won't get a shot in that match, but I'm willing to change my mind about that given from the hard work and effort I'm seeing from everyone the last few shows going into this event. By the end of the next episode of Primetime, you'll all know who will be going for the gold, ladies.
I don't know why but I always feel like I'm shortchanging you guys when it comes to tag team matches and I end up writing a lot to compensate. Same thing happened here. I kept cooking up spots in my head for this to keep it going and at one point I had to tell myself to stop as I could save those for the PPV as there's going to be a Tag Team Turmoil match for the tag titles. I want to keep reminding our budding tag team division of that.
I was going to have Rex interfere here as payback to Miz ruining his match earlier, but I figured BulletxToxThexHeart would want to reply to that IC in some fashion.
I want to mention that why Ursula's name was changed in the results. It's been quite some time since Mike Bradley's handler has been around with Danielle Bradley, so it's only fair that I allowed Ursula use the picbase now instead of her having to completely changing her character around. I'm going to update the graphics on the roster page and image slider on the main page this weekend.
We (myself and iDream ) had a segment in mind, but the planets didn't align for us to get the time together to get one cranked out for this match. The backstory was going to be that Io was already mentally drained from the stress of her college exams were coming up, along with tackling with the responsibilities of being Veda's newest lackey, with this match leading to her breaking point of anxiety. I dunno if we're still going to go that route or not, but I'll brainstorm with Io about that sooner more than later.
I gotta apologize to Talia Areano on that front. I do have something to remedy that situation though. I was wondering if Zora Graysen would be willing to feud with Talia Areano , despite both being babyfaces, and it could potentially turn into a three-way feud once didgitz is able to contribute regularly again too? That way you two aren't hanging high and dry without a feud or storyline going into the PPV later this month.
I couldn't be any prouder of Carnage and BulletxToxThexHeart here. I just stood back and let those two go at it after adding my two cents in the beginning. I was picturing it as Xion staying out of the way much like William Regal does during those NXT contract signings. Glad I got my WWE Network $9.99 joke in there though. Is it bad that I'm getting a Seth Rollins vs. Demon Kane/Corporate Kane vibe here? At least in a good way - from Ry Drake's snobby attitude to Carnage not taking any BS from the champ while reminding everyone he hasn't lost his edge.
