Dominique Frost can't help letting out a little scoff as she glances over the backrest of the sofa and the shoulder of her younger sister, the shapely brunette sitting cross-legged on the comfy couch, a laptop balancing atop her crossed legs. Eliza raises an eyebrow as she looks back at her sister.
Eliza: What's wrong?
Dominique crosses her arms across her chest, a stern expression on her beautiful features.
Domi: Here you are just playing games again. Have you even done your exercises yet?
Eliza rolls her eyes exaggeratedly.
Eliza: Yes, mooom, I did. It's easy, if you wanna actually see me sweat you're gonna need to give me more of a challenge. A training regimen like this is EASY for a Frost like us.
She winks at Dominique, but the tall blond manages to hold back the smirk trying to pry the corners of her mouth up.
Domi: "But I did just enough" isn't going to cut it when we get in the ring for real and are facing opponents doing their damnest to stop us from taking the glory we deserve. Just being born better isn't enough, you have to work at it.
Eliza huffs a bit as she sets the laptop aside and turns to face Dominique, kneeling on the sofa, her hands on top of the backrest.
Eliza: What is this now? Suddenly you don't have faith in me? After how I proved how I can go toe to toe with a seasoned pro you still doubt me?
Dominique's eyes turn to the side to avert Eliza's pouty gaze.
Domi: I just want to be sure you don't...
Eliza: That I don't what, sis? Embarrass you? That's why you were giving Bobbi shit, wasn't it? So you don't get embarrassed? So people don't think less of you when a rival or, hell, a sister under-performs?
Eliza cuts Dominique off, working herself up to a huff. Dominique opens her mouth, but before she can speak Eliza resumes her tirade.
Eliza: You don't think I wanna look good out there, that I don't wanna prove to everyone that I belong there next to you, not just walking in your shadow with my head down?
Dominique raises an eyebrow as she catches an edge of bitterness in Eliza's tone.
Domi: When have you ever hid in my shadow?
Eliza's eyes go so wide they almost bulge out with disbelief.
Eliza: "W-when have I"... When have I NOT?!?
She stands up on the couch, stepping a foot onto the backrest, almost making the sofa topple over as her sister goes to move to catch her if need be, but an accusing finger is pointed at her face instead.
Eliza: When have I NOT been WELL behind you but still in your shadow, never AS smart or talented or popular or... or WHATEVER as my big sis. You don't think I noticed people comparing us ALL THE TIME?
The stern expression has melted from Dominique's face as she's taken aback by the sudden resentment she sees in her sister's eyes.
Eliza: I tried to never think much of it, you ARE awesome and I'm lucky to have such an amazing sister who never lets haters get to her and does what she wants, even if it means walking out into the world on her own. E-even if it meant leaving some things behind...
Eliza's lip trembles a bit.
Eliza: A-and I always looked up to you for all the ways you're so incredible and I still do and when I decided I wanted to wrestle too I ignored mom giving me shit about just wanting to be you instead of using my brains or whatever because it's what I wanted for ME. So don't worry about how I'm going to make YOU look, I'm gonna shine bright and everyone will KNOW I'm a Frost too.
Dominique reaches out and slides a hand over Eliza's cheek caressingly, wiping away a tear.
Domi: Elly, I never meant to downplay the work you've put in or how far you've gotten, heck, how far along you were before I ever even had a hand in training you. I know you would climb your way to the top with or without my help, I just don't want to let YOU down and not push you enough to be the best damn you that you have the potential for.
Dominique wraps her arms around her sister and lifts her right up over the sofa, making Eliza giggle a bit as she kicks her feet about 'till Dominique lowers her enough for them to touch down.
Domi: Heck, you're basically letting me tag along, kind of literally. I'm lucky to get to share this with you and just because I'm the big sister doesn't make you a bit player. It's The FrostS, you're right there in the headline with me, maybe one day it'll be "Eliza Frost and her sister".
She boops her little sister's nose playfully.
Domi: Buuut don't hold your breath 'till then just yet. Still a long way to go. But I'd never doubt that you have what it takes to get there, with or without me pushing you. I just want to do what I can to make the ride as smooth as possible.
Eliza wraps her arms around her sister and sniffs a bit as Dominique pats her back.
Domi: Now, what WERE you playing anyway? Ya lil' geek.
She sticks her tongue out at Eliza, who does the same back to her before hopping over the backrest onto the couch and grabbing her laptop, then launching into a speech about the colorful game while Dominique shakes her head just a bit, but leans in to watch and listen attentively.
Later in the evening, Dominique wraps her long, blond hair up in a towel, opening up the bathroom door to let the steamy air out. She adjusts the second towel wrapped around her body as she sits down on the toilet lid and grabs her phone, taking it off speakerphone and bringing it to her ear.
Domi: Yeah, she's doing wonderfully, I try and make sure I don't pamper her and, well, sometimes I push a bit too hard, but she's an amazing girl and I know I can trust her to be a great partner. You really should come over some time and meet her, maybe attend a show too.
She crosses her long legs, leaning back against the toilet's tank.
Domi: That way you could see her in action too. I think you two would get along fabulously. I mean, she IS a Frost after all.
Dominique chuckles a bit as she quotes her sister's reasoning.
Domi: We'll talk again soon, but have a look at your schedule to see if you have any free time coming up and let me know, it would be delightful to meet up and not just talk over the phone. Good night, take care.
Dominique hits the button to end the call, then stands up and walks out of the bathroom, taking a seat on the edge of the bed. She smirks a bit as she knocks on the wall.
Domi: Don't stay up all night now. I expect to see you awake in the gym after we have breakfast.
Eliza: Yeah yeah, moooom.
Dominique giggles as she lays back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. It's almost time. Time to show everyone once again why the name "Frost" deserves to be spoken in a reverent tone lest anyone daring to disrespect her be put in their place the hard way.
