First of all, you're more than willing to complain about the lengthy wait (I saw a few of you made jokes about it at my expense on social media... thanks by the way as I deserved that) and I humbly apologize but I hope it was well worth the wait. Secondly, I'm going to have the match card for the next episode of Primetime up tomorrow morning (Tuesday) for we can keep things moving and get back on track. For those wondering, the grand total was 56 pages in Google Docs uncoded that was written entirely by me, outside of the 3 Stages of Hell match that was done by Missy and Susie's handlers respectively.
Samuel wanted to do a kick-off show for the event and that got derailed as he had some real life complications that came up and I had some as well that I detailed you guys about a few weeks ago. We originally had the show split down the middle, but when I had to go back and take on Sam's matches too that added more time to getting this up in its entirety. I won't make excuses, it was a bad call on my behalf and I fucked up. I shouldn't have made you guys wait so long.
[li]The Hellions def. CM Punk[/li]
I have a confession to make and I'll admit that I was watching the CM Punk vs. The Shield match from WWE when I was writing this match and took a few spots from it since Athena didn't give me a moveset for her boys other than a loose idea of how they should fight. TBH I always thought it was stupid that Punk went over the Shield in that match and I had no problem having Punk lose here. There was a point where I thought about talking Genesis into coming back for one night to help Punk out to even the odds here, but I was like nah. Punk doesn't need to win on his first night back. It's a good thing that his big mouth gets him in over his head.
[li]Segment #4 -- Veda Scott & The Enforcers Pre-Match Promo[/li]
I always crack myself up writing Veda Scott's dialogue as I can always picture the look on her face when I'm writing it. And it's amplified in this case where I'm trying to channel old school WCW Harlem Heat with the Enforcers' promos. FYI I've been doing a year long study of 1997 WCW on the WWE Network for fun and that's just one of many things I ran across that I've enjoyed from revisiting that time period.
I think it was "The Iceman" Konrad Raab or someone else who asked whether or not if I'd ever get rid of all of the RL wrestlers in the fed and I have to say no, because I got into efedding for the fantasy booking aspect of it first and the character creation aspect second. Maybe it's the other way around for everyone else, but I like having that option for people who don't want to create a character from scratch. They have one of their favorites whose shoes they would like to be in for a while. For me, there's times I like to channel playing some of my favorites, especially lesser known personalities like Veda Scott who hasn't been on the main stage in WWE yet.
I understand that we probably would get more members here if we were strictly an original CAW federation, but I don't want to limit anyone's creativity either. If people want to join here as their original CAWs they can. If they want to play as one of their favorite wrestlers, they can do that too. They have the best of both worlds at their fingertips.
I know I got really off-topic there, but yeah...
[li]Konrad Raab & Samuel Chatman def. The Enforcers (c), Fear Hollywood, Casey Cortez & Gabriel Wingue, and Leon & Amber Torres to become the NEW Tag Team Champions[/li]
Right off the bat, ❤Rose❤ wanted Casey out of it since she wasn't medically cleared as part of kayfabe so that was easy to do the first elimination. I think this match along with the one after this I had the most notes for in my notepad where I list spots/notes when I outline matches for my match-writing. I had about 3 pages for this match and about 5 for the Vixen title match. At first I thought it was a bit overboard that Miz would lose his "streak" on the same night that Raab/Sam won, but I figured from a story telling perspective that's the motivation for Fear Hollywood to plot their revenge and stay in the tag title chase. I'm sure ❤Knightmare INC and Patrick are fine with that, same with DΔShΞR challenging the new champs too at some point. I didn't have any problem having the Enforcers lose here as I was using them as placeholders until we restructured the tag team division, so I'm glad to see what we have here moving forward.
[li]Segment #5 -- Brooklyn Glam comments on the Vixen title match challengers[/li]
This was a VERY last second addition as I happened to catch up with SinCityDollz over the weekend and asked her if she wanted to do something for the show. I knew she was going to get on me for not posting the character development that we did a while back that explain her absence in-character LOL. That's coming soon enough.
[li]Blake Harper def. Laura Jackson, Morgan Davis, Ursula Areano, Bobbi Jackson, and Maryse Ouellet to become the NEW Vixen Champion[/li]
This fucking match LOL. There was a point I was stumped on how to end this so I figured if I kept writing spots, eventually I would be happy with the end result. A week happened and another week happened and I'm still adding and changing stuff around in this match. One of my early drafts had a big spot that involved all of the girls in the ring on the top rope that was inspired by something I saw on ROH a few weeks ago and I took that out as I told myself I was doing too much here and I had to end this somehow. So I settled on the finish WWE Divas and TNA Knockouts love in multi-person matches like this - everyone hits their finish/signature and someone gets the win off it in the end.
I want to say this much too. I'm proud of everyone who roleplayed for this match - I really am. This was the HARDEST match for me to decide on a winner for bar none. At the same time, it was the funnest match on this card for me to write, despite how much angst I gave myself as a result stressing about it. Don't beat yourselves up if you lost, you got nothing to be ashamed of. Athena you've been at this watching from the bench for a VERY long time and now it's your turn to lead this division. Talia Areano Bobbi Jackson ❀ℋine 'ea❀ Laura Jackson Samuel don't kick yourselves as any of you are easily future champions some day, just keep up the hard work.
[li]Segment #6 -- "Ghost" Visits Carnage Again[/li]
Truth be told, Carnage and I got this thing going where we going to continue this bit from the last few months, with this "ghost" of his past continuing to taunt him before his matches. No she's not supposed to be Catrina from Lucha Underground but yes, I'll admit we're taking some elements from her character.
[li]Ry Drake (c) def. Carnage to retain GZWA World Heavyweight Championship[/li]
I'll be honest but Carnage and I agreed on the post-match attack AGES before even booking the PPV match as that's how Carnage wanted to be taken out of the Machine. Entirely his idea. Normally I don't want Xion to get physical in storylines as I rather focus on you guys, but after hearing Carnage's idea I broke my golden rule to add to the impact of this moment. I always told myself that if I let Xion wrestle again, I was totally going to use Jay Lethal's finisher and I got to use that here.
As for the match itself, I don't know if Carnage and BulletxToxThexHeart liked it but I was running on fumes at this point in terms of quality writing. I felt like I used up all of the good spots and moments earlier in the show.
