This post-show discussion thread is going to be for both the results for Primetime AND the Television Championship Special to eliminate the need for two separate threads.
I'll repeat this in a mass-PM as well as I'm sure that people will ask anyway, but as of today, we're on holiday hiatus until the New Year. Two shows back-to-back and with the holidays rolling around, I feel that it's best for me to just rest up and take a break for I won't burn myself out. I start a new job on the 2nd, so I don't want to not enjoy my time off. That means that I'm pushing Reina de Reinas Tres into the New Year as well. As a result being sick last week and other various complications, I wasn't able to recruit and advertise the event like I would have liked before the holidays like I did last year, so it's better that I just push it back until further notice instead of rushing into it haphazardly.
Stardom Tag Team Classic
First Round Opener: Match #3
GZWA Tag Team Champions "The Bobbilicious One" Bobbi Jackson, Eliza Frost, and "The Dominiqtrix" Dominique Frost def. Talia Areano & "The Silver Screen Queen" Crystal Hilton
I told this to Bobbi Jackson earlier this week but I honestly had too much fun writing this match. I think that's because TheFrosts and Bobbi along with the team of sarahrichardson and Talia Areano have amazing chemistry. Crystal said she was going to send in a segment, but I don't know what happened on his end IRL. Talia and Crystal may be out of the tournament, but I hope this loss doesn't discourage them in continuing to challenge the current tag team champions. I think the five of you have the makings of a great rivalry here.
Stardom Tag Team Classic
First Round Opener: Match #4
The Doombringer (debut) & Brother Zachariah def. "The Wraith" Ry Drake & "The Mountain" Rex Terrell (w/ Skylar Stryker)
I wrote this match with Brother Zachariah and The Legendary Doombringer feeling each other out and slowly earning each other's trust throughout the course of the match while it seems like BulletxToxThexHeart 's team of Ry Drake and Rex Terrell seems to be crumbling at the foundation. See, ❤Knightmare INC ? I remembered to have Skylar help them out this time
Segment #1 -- Ashleigh Cash Calls Out Susie Price
I'll come clean that Susie Price and I had this bit planned out before even the card went up to introduce Susie's new "enforcer".
Segments #2 & 3 -- The Bradleys Arrive & Kendrick's Pre-Match Interview
I was a little confused on these two segments as I thought The Bradley Clan was going to enjoy the show off since he was in the TV title tournament like the other folks omitted on this card while Squall Leonhart was going to take Jayson's challenge solo. I guess there was confusion on both ends as I pitched an idea via PM where the Enforcers would get involved prior to their match later in the show that would make these matches changed into a 3 on 3 match instead to compensate, but that was axed as everyone wasn't on the same page about it.
Jayson Heagerty def. Ryan Kendrick
With the Bradleys at ringside, it was bit harder to write this match realistically for a clean finish so I had to go with a distraction - something I didn't want to do here - to justify that the Bradleys wouldn't get involved in the result logically. Patrick had a strong showing in his writing for this match, so I wanted to give him a win without any question/debate. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible here given the circumstances of the narrative here, but he got the win regardless.
Carnage def.The Enforcers J & J Security Services Inc.
I've wanted to introduce some goons/jobbers that the babyfaces could toss around that were affiiliated with the Machine for a while now. Since the Enforcers are the Machine's only fighting force on the frontlines, no need to have them fight here and end Carnage's conquest prematurely. That encounter should be the climax of this narrative, so why not introduce these guys now? I'm not sold on the name yet as I'm split on either J & J or Team Rockett to make a clever pun/joke towards the same oddball set of villains from the Pokemon anime.
I didn't notice it until after the fact, but Carnage and I made a goof in both his promo and the results. His assistant/manager is named Morrigan Aensland (same name as the character from DarkStalkers) while Lilith was the name of her "sister" who was handled by Lilith Danielson previously. Minor mistake there so just remember she's named Morrigan.
Xion Zeros and Serena Dent reveal the NEW Television Championship Design
TBH I'm prolly going to tweak the design slightly once more before our next show as I honestly rushed making this in PhotoShop for the results. I cherish these rare occasions where Athena and I get to do segments like this as our personal lives and time zones don't align as much as we would like nowadays, but I had a blast writing this with her.
I enjoyed Patrick 's segment with Justin Lockhart here too that was set after Xion and Serena's bit in the ring. I like that both of his characters are on personal crusades to prove that they are main event material, despite coming up short in the World title opportunities that they were presented in lately. This goes for Patrick and everyone else as I want to say this - I wouldn't book any of you in a title match unless I had faith that you could deliver in that position in the e-federation. If you win, great, but if you lose, I love seeing how you bounce back to strive for this chance again, turning the negative into a positive. That's how your characters grow from being one-dimensional cliches to being multi-layered masterpieces. I'm confident that everyone here has the capability to do that with their characters.
Main Event: Tag Team Match
"Tattooed Beauty" Laura Jackson & Senor Vinnie def. "Queen of Submission" Casey Cortez & Lily Evol (w/ "The Glam Star" Brooklyn Glamorous)
Can't take credit for writing this main event as that honor goes to senorvinnie . I thought he did a fine job with this match here as the only contribution to this match that added was the finish with Laura picking up the win over Lily Evol. Brooklyn was absent in this show as I honestly couldn't catch up with SinCityDollz to collaborate with her while being sick that weekend. She didn't make any excuses for missing the promo deadline as she honestly forgot to post something in time. In terms of the story I felt that it worked wonders for Laura Jackson to pick up a win in this feud anyway. I'm anxious to see where Vinnie and ❤Rose❤ are going to take the directions of both Vinnie and Casey's careers following this match.
I took a lot of liberties on this show in terms of cutting you guys who involved a break. No one posted the 2nd promo that I asked for, but I was still nice enough to allow some revisions (some took the opportunity, others didn't) and the late submissions after your feedback. As a result, I judged this card like I would have for Reinas if we were having that event this month. Top two promos advanced for the finals (1 per triple threat) and made sure to make sure everyone got in some good spots in these matches. Proofreading I felt that these matches were a little too long-winded than I would have liked, but it was the last set of results before the holidays so I wanted to go out with a bang in a sense.
That being said, for those of you who begged and whined for this title back, it's on you to keep it alive. My stance still stands on whether or not bringing this title back is a good idea as I'm concerned with adding another title given the roster size, but not many people stepping forward to help with match-writing along with the fact the divisions are spread thin enough as is. I'm leaving it up to those of you who justified it so passionately that we need to keep it around. If it's a success, then I'll have a "bonus stipulation" added to it come by the time Slammiversary rolls around in the summer. If not, then it'll go back being defunct. Long story short? PROVE ME WRONG. That's the challenge I present to you for 2018.
Chance Justice def. Amanda Cortez and Justin Lockhart
Despite the segment that was set before this match, I didn't include Vinnie in this match as that segment was sent in for Primetime, but the opener clearly states that it's set before this match so I added it to these results. ❤Rose❤ asked for Rose to assist Amanda in this match with her foul play exploits, so the bulk of this match revolved around Justin and Chance thwarting those efforts. I could have allowed Amanda to get some more offense here, given that she's a former TV champion after all, but with the odds here against two other men, I think this was a bit more realistic.
Equinox def. Mike Bradley and Konrad Raab
Much like Amanda in the previous match, I wanted to showcase Mike Bradley's versality as a former champion in this match. That's why The Bradley Clan opened with a big spot early into the match and was essentially the man to beat here. I kept inteference and involvement from the rest of the Bradleys out of the results as the Machine wasn't involved with this show in any shape nor form, so it wouldn't have made much sense anyway. The odds were already in Mike's favor as a former champion along with the fact that "The Iceman" Konrad Raab requested that Raab played off his injuries from competing in other promotions during the weekend prior to keep up kayfabe while KingOfHighSpots was fighting the uphill battle here.
Grand Finals - Equinox def. Chance Justice
First off, I want to apologize if the main event/finals here feel a bit short. I honestly blanked on the finish and just went ahead and ended it off the last spot/reversal exchange. I was going to do another near-fall or two, but I didn't want to make it too excessive like how WWE bastardizes finishers with 50 near-falls in one match.
