Ryan Kendrick | Weapon X-23
Another day, another press conference. Thats exactly what Kendrick would think to himself as he sat down at his chair to take questions before Primetime. Kendrick would be dressed informally, tattered jeans and a denim jacket over a black wifebeater. In his hand was the usual Monster, already open and half drank.
"Pat Walker, ESPN. Mr. Kendrick, last week you faced Jayson Heagerty, in what some would call an embarrassing loss. This makes you 3 and 0 since your return. What are your thoughts on this loss, and how do you plan to move forward from it?"
"You sure didn't hold back, Pat. Yea, I let myself get distracted. Each week since my return, its been the same. I've been beaten while my back was turned, after some kind of distraction. And it is pissing me off. Week after week, these assholes strut around like their hot shit, because they beat me while I wasn't paying attention. Well news flash bub, that doesn't make you talented, it just makes you a bitch. Same to those who want to pussyfoot around instead of taking me head on. As for preventing it, I've actually been working with Phil Jackson to work on my mental toughness."
Kendrick strops to drink a good chunk of his Monster, and signals for the next question.
"Rob Deming, Wrestling Today. After their appearance during your match last week, everybody's been wondering what your relationship is with the Bradleys. And what about Carnage?"
"Honestly bub, The Bradleys told ya all you needed to know before my match with Heagerty. We want to stop the Machine from ruling over GZWA with an Iron Fist. Not just because we don't exactly get along with Authority Figures, but because Xion and his cronies are a bag of dicks. As for Carnage, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. We may not be working together, but with us working towards a similar goal, I dont think it'll be long before we're standing side by side again. Next Question."
"Victor Lynn, Sports and stuff. Tonight you're scheduled to go against Chance Justice. What are you're thoughts coming into your first match with Mr. Justice?
Kendrick would finish off his Monster and crush the can in his hand before smirking.
"I'm glad you brought him up, Vic. Chance is a great talent, don't get me wrong. The guy made it to the finals of that little Television Championship tourney we held not to long ago. I mean, how can you not respect that? But as much respect as I hold for his talent, I don't care much for the guy, because he clearly doesn't have the same respect for me. The guy clearly hasn't bothered to look into anything about me outside of my last few matches, which I'm sure we can all agree, haven't been my best. I mean this guy went as far as to call me "kid".
Theres clearly a note of anger in Kendricks voice as he mentions this.
"Listen bub, I'm a 10 year vet. I know, I know, I talk about my past a little too much. But this guy, he doesn't even know what he's going to walk into tonight. I don't expect him to just keel over, but bub, he's a 100 years to early to challenge a weapon like me. Don't get me wrong, he's good. But I am the best I what I do. And what I do is win. So, a little advice if you're listening Chance. Don't look past me just based off my last few matches. If you do, I will break you. Maybe I'll start with that bum knee of yours, maybe I'll start with your face. Because as the GZWA fans know, I still dont give a fuck. I'll walk out of this arena, even if you roll away in a hearse."
Kendrick gets in the zone for minute, before relaxing again. He'd kick back in his chair, and plop his feet up on the conference table, almost lazily.
"Brian Windom, Wrestling Weekly. You say you're ready for Chance Justice, but what about the Machine? They've gotten involved in two of your matches recently, is there any concern they'll be involved tonight?"
"I'm not worried, to be honest with you. Im not scared of them, but they're clearly afraid of me. They haven't set foot in this ring since I came back, if they decide they do have the balls to step up, then I'll kicks their asses to. Besides, its not like I'm alone in this fight. They've made a lot of enemies since I left."
Kendrick checks the time on his phone.
"I've got time for a short one. How about... you."
"Diego Reed, Mat Masters. Not to long ago, You and Jordan signed a deal together. Is there any plans for you to release some wrestling themed sneakers?"
"Its a little too soon to tell Diego. Just keep an eye on my twitter, cause you'll hear it there first. Well, thats all the time I got."
With that, Kendrick stands and leaves, heading to the locker rooms to prepare for his match.
