The Frost sisters are driving along, Eliza at the wheel while Dominique sits in the passenger seat. The older sister has a paperback book in one hand while she leans the other arm's elbow against the door and leans back, her chair a bit reclined, but she keeps stealing glances at the road, struggling against the urge to backseat drive even though her sister is doing just fine. She just can't help being a bit nervous when she isn't the one at the wheel ever since she got used to driving herself, like the lack of direct control just doesn't sit quite right with her. On the backseat are bags of containers from the local Chinese restaurant, the sisters on their way back home from fetching dinner for everyone. The place was a bit far, but they've eaten there before and know it's well worth the drive. Dominique sets her book down on her lap as she gazes out through the passenger side window, then without turning to Eliza speaks up.
Domi: So... how are things going with Bobbi?
Eliza raises an eyebrow as she turns a dial to turn down the radio volume, neither of them really having listened to what was on anyway.
Eliza: Things are going great. Thought that was obvious. We're really happy together, Michael too.
Domi: Yes, Michael...
The older sister turns to regard the shapely brunette.
Domi: He WAS your original goal in all of this, after all. You used to obsess over the guy and, well, who can blame you. Maybe it's just me, but it seems you're spending a lot more time and attention on Bobbi lately.
Eliza shrugs her shoulders a bit as she seems to consider it even while replying.
Eliza: I mean... I guess so, but we DO work together, so doesn't it just make sense that we would? Michael has his own stuff going on, but I definitely don't think that when he is around I favor one over the other.
She tilts her head to the side a bit as they come to stop at a light, furrowing her brow as she looks at her big sister.
Eliza: Why are you suddenly asking about this? You're right there, you see us all happy together, so what's up with the third degree, hmm?
Domi: It's just...
She glances out the window again.
Domi: Well, I guess one has to learn to adjust to plans changing. You know I've never been too big on that, but I suppose it's just the way it is.
Eliza opens her mouth to speak, but is cut off by a quick beep of a car's horn behind them and she yelps as she realizes the lights have turned green and hurriedly drives through the intersection.
Eliza: Sure, things didn't end up going like we'd planned, but I'd say it turned out a LOT better, wouldn't you? I have double the lovers, also you and me are one half of the tag champs, we just won a big tourney, our stock is through the roof. I'd say everything is turning up Frosty.
Dominique absently nods her head as she keeps staring out the window, watching the scenery speed by as they approach the turn towards the Showtime mansion.
Eliza: Heck, I'd say this might be the height of your career so far.
Dominique's eyes briefly widen at the statement, then narrow as she glares at her sister from the corner of her eye while she weighs that statement in silence.
Eliza: And we're STILL picking up momentum. It's crazy. And I owe it all to you.
The tall blond's expression softens a bit as she turns to look at Eliza again.
Eliza: After all, it was thanks to your support that I actually made it into the business to begin with, you've been guiding my each step to where we are today.
Domi: Not EVERY step...
Dominique mumbles under her breath, but puts on a smile as Eliza looks over at her, a big smile on her lips as well.
Eliza: I'll always owe you for all you've done for me.
Domi: I'm your big sister, doing my best to help you is the least I could do.
The two sister smile at one another, but as Eliza focuses her attention back on the road as they're about to arrive Dominique glances out the window again and smile fades.
*Later*
Back home at the Showtime mansion, everyone is gathered at the kitchen table, chairs pulled up as all the containers of food are being passed around, everyone grabbing their favorite or sharing a dish with someone else, using chopsticks as best they can manage for a more authentic experience. Eliza pops the cover off a cup, takes a whiff, then sips the hot soup.
Eliza: Mmmmm, chicken and corn... never quite got why that's a thing, always thought of corn as more of an American thing. Ya know, the continent.
She shrugs and takes another sip while Dominique dips a Spring Roll in some sweet and sour sauce, then takes a bite. Michael is eating some salt and pepper porkchops as Bobbi puts some combination lo mein on her plate. It's clear from her demeanor she has something on her mind and it's kinda eating away at her, eventually she just decides to speak up and get it out there...
Bobbi: So um, while you all were gone I got a text message from the GZWA office...
Bobbi says putting her head down to look at her food. The two sisters both turn to regard her, waiting to hear more.
Eliza: ....About what?
Bobbi sighs a bit, knowing she's not even gonna want to eat until she just gets this over with so she goes with what her and Michael agreed with that would be best to avoid any fights in the house.
Bobbi: They messaged asking which two of us would be in the world title match at Riot Control....and after much thought....
Bobbi says taking a deep, long breath.
Bobbi: I have decided that you both should take the shot and I'll sit this one out...
Bobbi exhales as she immediately takes a drink of her Pepsi before sitting it down and begins quickly putting food in her mouth as if she's done with the subject and doesn't want to discuss it any further. Showtime kinda just shakes his head and sighs at his wife, but knows she did the right thing to maintain the peace. Dominique looks over at Eliza and she sighs as she sees her younger sister about to burst at the seams with excitement while simulatenously clearly struggling to find words to say. Dominique had figured that as she's been part of winning the match the pick would have been automatic, but clearly that wasn't the case. She hesitates briefly herself before speaking up.
Domi: ...No way. The shot was meant for the team and at any given time you are one half of the team.
Eliza's head bobs with rapid nods of agreement.
Eliza: That's right, it wouldn't be right for you to pass up on this. So, I guess I...
Domi: I will be sitting this one out instead.
Eliza's eyes widen as she looks at her big sister.
Eliza: B-but...
Dominique seems to just ignore her sister's protests as she speaks on.
Domi: Of course, you'll owe me one for this.
She smirks a bit and winks at Bobbi, who swallows her food hard and looks at the tall blonde, rather stunned. After taking a few moments to compose herself she replies...
Bobbi: Are you sure? I mean, I don't mind owing you...but...I don't want to take this from you...
Bobbi says fighting with her own emotions because deep down she REALLY wants to be in this match but she doesn't want to upset the Frosts in the process creating unnecessary drama in the house. Looking into Bobbi's eyes, Dominique can read her like a book and waves it off.
Domi: Absolutely, you aren't taking a thing from me. Like I said, you're one half of the team, so that shot belongs to you. And at the end of the day I'm here to support my sister, so the choice between us is obvious.
Eliza isn't even sure what to say, trying not to be too obvious about how giddy she is about the opportunity, so Dominique reaches over and ruffles her hair a bit.
Bobbi: I seriously don't know what to say...I'm just so happy that no one is fighting right now...
Bobbi says as a smile finally comes over the blondes face and she lets out kind of a nervous laugh.
Bobbi: I was so worried you two were going to fight again like the other week, so I just figured giving up my shot was the best bet to make sure no one fought with each other.
Eliza rounds the table to plant a kiss on Bobbi's lips.
Eliza: See, it's because she's this kind of a sweetie that I couldn't help falling for her.
Dominique rolls her eyes at her sister, but smiles. Bobbi purrs with delight as Michael laughs.
Showtime: See, you were worried over nothing, ya big goof!
Michael tosses a salt and pepper pork chop on his wife's plate.
Showtime: Now we can just enjoy a fantastic dinner together and everyone can be happy!
Bobbi: Absolutely!
It's smiles all around as everyone is finally ready to dig in, the cloud of worry no longer hanging over Bobbi's head, though one smile seems a bit strained as Dominique munches on her spring rolls and the scene fades out.
