“Someone’s angry. Someone wants revenge. Someone thinks I should be worried….nahhhh.”
Kris gets up and faces the camera.
“Worrying is not something that The Bradley Clan does. When my brother in law Mike stared death in the face after nearly suffering catastrophic heart failure in the ring three years ago, he got a heart transplant and went through extensive rehab to get back to the ring in a matter of months. When my sister in law Jesse was diagnosed with leukemia, we stood by her throughout her treatment until she was cancer free. And when we needed to take a break from wrestling, we traveled the world and became one cohesive unit. We've overcome obstacle after obstacle with ease.”
Kris goes to his closet and starts pulling out his gear.
“So why should I worry about my first ever 1-on-1 singles match this week against Ryan Kendrick? I mean, did you see me catch him on my shoulders and put him down with The Last One? And long before that, did you see me pick up the win with Mike in my first ever wrestling match? And even longer before that, have you seen the highlights from my All-American football career? Just like the rest of my family, I do things. Big things. And we’re always moving forward, always creating chaos.”
He throws his gear - and his kendo stick - in his bag.
“But some people aren't moving forward. They still worry about the past. People like, oh, I don't know… Ryan Kendrick? Still blaming us for the failed alliance to take down The Machine. Still salty after the Riot Match and the last Primetime. Look, son, whatever the cause, whoever is really to blame, you need to move on. You don't have to worry about Riot Control or The Machine anymore. We sure as hell aren't. Riot Control is in the books, and The Machine is dead. We did our part to end them, you did your part, Carnage did his part. Maybe we weren't on the same page the whole way through, but the job was done, and The Machine is just like the Riot Match and last week - in the past.”
He zips up his bag and heads for the door and his car.
“Now we can focus on the next stage of our careers - racking up championship gold! And the likes of you, Crystal Hilton, Senor Vinnie and anyone else who stands in our way… well, we’ll sure as hell give THEM something to worry about!”
He fires up the engine and starts blasting his theme music, “The Last One” by Hieroglyphics.
“So what do you do now? Will you focus on your future? Or worry about your past? If you must worry, you can worry about me, the rookie who put you down with ease on Primetime once, and will gladly do it again! So, like my theme music says, let’s see if you can go the length, because I'm back in your system with extra strength. We eat wrestlers, outdo and surpass ‘em, so what's gonna make this different from The Last One?”
And if you don't know… now you know!
Then he drives off for the airport.
