OOC: Something short and sweet for the show.
When she’s not busy training up and coming wrestlers at the Project X training facility or making various live event appearances for GZWA, Mariah has been making media rounds promoting her budding new business endeavor - Divinity Unlimited. Details of the project has been scarce as she’s still making connections and sorting out details, but she took the time to answer some questions from the press today concerning the ongoings with her life as of late.
Reporter: How do you plan on juggling your wrestling career and the time needed as businesswoman? It seems that your time is spread thin enough as it is.
Mariah laughs, “You could say that, but I have good knack for time management. Perfect example? This week, I have television tapings for Ground Zero Wrestling Association to attend along with overseeing their open tryouts before the show starts. Immediately following that broadcast, I’m on the next flight back home to New York City to get some rest and back into the grind first thing the next morning for a full day of training with my students. Wednesday, I will meet with all of my potential partners and talent who wish to be represented by my brand and we’ll be discussing our first project in depth. Thursday, I’ll be packing for a trip to Jamaica since I’ll be gone until the start of August helping one of my best friends with her wedding. I doubt that’s going to be all fun and games as I have to get some work done while I’m away to boot. So yeah, the grind really never stops for me. To be honest, I enjoy staying busy.”
Reporter: Speaking of GZWA’s next television taping, what are your thoughts on your opponent on Primetime, The Grand Zabrina?
Mariah thought for a moment before replying, “I’m sure someone will correct me on social media as that’s the thing people love doing to make themselves feel superior, but I believe this is the first time that we’ve fought on a one-on-one basis. I watched a few of her matches when she was feuding with my half-sister, Amanda Cortez, and like a lot of GZWA fans and fellow wrestlers in the industry, I was convinced that she was devoted to being a comedic talent. Then Riot Control happened a month ago and she surprised a lot of people - me included - with a breakthrough performance of her career. I’m convinced that her whole comedy stick is an act or rather a mindgame to get her opponents off their game and underestimate her.
I don’t plan on making that mistake.”
One of the onlookers in the crowd chimes in, “Will you be spanking her or will you be the one getting spanked?”
Mariah rolls her eyes, “How about no?”
Reporter: “Are you confident in your chances in coming out on top? You’ve been on a string of losses as of late, namely at Riot Control.”
Mariah shook her head, “I owe my tag team victory on the last Primetime to Zora Graysen, but aside from that, you are correct. I haven’t had much success in singles competition lately, but that’s going to change. Just because I’m undertaking another business endeavor doesn’t mean that I’m going to set my wrestling career to cruise control.
To be honest, on any given night, I don’t know what Zabrina I’m going to get. I could get the happy-go-lucky loveable goofball that wants to be spanked or I could get the hungry, fierce competitor that we saw at Riot Control. Either way, I’m going to go in and give it my all like I do each and every night. Sometimes that hasn’t been enough as the competition in GZWA has been getting fiercer by the week. Maybe it’s time I start pushing myself above and beyond to keep up.”
Reporter: “Spoken like a champion, I must say. Any more words for your opponent?”
Mariah nods before speaking into the microphone once more, “I have a simple request for you, Zabrina. I want you to show me and the entire GZWA Nation why they call you The Grand Zabrina on Primetime. If you can do that, then I’m sure that we’re going to have a ‘grand’ time out there in that ring, setting the house on fire. Come at me with your best, because there’s no doubt that I’m going all out. May the best woman walk away as the winner.”
She looks back towards the reporter and asks, “Do you have any more questions for me?”
Reporter: (Laughing) “Well… a few guys on social media have been dying to know… Since you’ve been bringing up weddings and what-not lately, when is the Showstoppin’ Senorita going to settle down with nice guy and tie the knot?”
Mariah’s face reddens as she busts out laughing, “Oh my God… No comment!”
She walks off the scene, waving to the camera and blowing kisses at her fans.
