First of all, HAPPY THANKSGIVING for everyone here perving the forums on Thanksgiving instead of spending time with your families. Shame on you.
I'm kidding. Hope you're all having a safe and pleasant holiday. On top of that, I hope you all enjoyed reading the results for the last Primetime for 2018.
As for other misc. housekeeping, I feel that I said my peace in the mass-PM last week. Those of you who read it took the time to respond already and I'm sure those of you who haven't will do so as you see fit.
Segment #1 - Jaser Cruz and Mariah face-to-face confrontation
DΔShΞR 's tag team partner, ♡☈ɑ√əη , helped me write this with their input since our schedules was a bit jumbled from me being sick before the deadlines. I thought this went over well and if you're wondering what MiMi said at the end, she said "You better come ready, 'cause I'm comin' for that ass" in Spanish at the end.
Rose Cortez def. Laura Jackson
This is where I realized I made a goof when I started on writing results. I notified Samuel , ❤Knightmare INC and Patrick on Facebook that I accidentally booked Sarah Richardson and Kate Steele in two different tag team matches. I had to scrap one of them so I went with theirs while keeping this one as a tag team match. sarahrichardson has been dealing with health issues OOC prior to the deadlines so I wrote them out of this match since I knew he wouldn't be able to make the deadline from his illnesses. Double goes for the contract signing segment between Crystal and Talia Areano , so that had to be axed too unfortunately, even with the deadline extension.
As for this match, I chatted with Amanda and Laura on where to go next on this feud and we all agreed on something along of these lines to settle it out at the PPV.
Segment #2 - The Mega Busters Plan Ahead?
I had this character development piece as part of a longer one, explaining more on Psycho Sagus' stalker and what Sagus was up to when he ran off for a few weeks now, but I ended up scrapping most of it as I thought it was a bit too silly - even for the Mega Busters' standards. I took the beginning of it, which I originally was going to use as a promo for this match and just turned it into a segment on this show since we were lacking in that regard.
Justin Lockhart (w/ Casey Angel) def. Samuel Chatman
The main thing I wanted to convey here was Lockhart's descent into darkness like how Roderick Strong did when he joined Undisputed Era in NXT. I don't know what Patrick and Samuel want to do to follow up on the PPV though.
Segment #3 - Didgitz sets some goals for the future
didgitz and I have been talking back and forth about a comeback for quite some time now. It was too late for her to get back in time for rematch against Vi. since she already had lost both the Women's and Queen of Queens Championships, but Didgitz wanted to get back into the mix of things here so I suggested a segment for the show. Thanks again for getting this in after such short notice.
Danielle Bradley def. The Grand Zabrina
The Grand Zabrina no showed, so I just made this a quick win to establish that Danielle was serious about getting over her current slump.
Segment #4 - Mary and Serena run down some latest developments
I borrowed Serena from Athena for this to announce a few matches for the PPV and changes on the card tonight.
The Bradley Clan (Kris Williams & Jesse Bradley) def. The Mega Busters
The biggest thing I wanted to convey here was that Psycho Sagus would come back late into the match, only for their comeback to fall flat in the end as the Bradleys go over. Sagus had to be the one who got pinned as that adds to the "loser" narrative I'm going with him lately. More importantly, The Bradley Clan put in the work to get in multiple promos for this show so he should be rewarded for the effort as I didn't do a promo for this match but merely had the segment earlier in the show.
Segment #5 - Senor Vinnie teases the crowd
A short and sweet segment sent in by senorvinnie to promote the main event.
The Doombringer & Mike Bradley def. GZWA Tag Team Champions Knightmare INC via DQ; champions retain as a result
Once again, I apologize to all involved here about changing this match and the main event at the last minute during the week extension. The narrative I went for with this match was that The Legendary Doombringer and The Bradley Clan couldn't coexist even with the titles at stake as they both had their eyes on the bigger prize. They ultimately win the match via DQ but Knightmare INC got the last laugh until the brawl broke loose. I originally had it in my notes/outline for this show to have this brawl after the main event but I thought that would've ruined the close of the show after everything Vinnie and Equinox put themselves through in that match so I put it here.
Main Event: Title vs. Title, Winner Takes All - GZWA World Champion Senor Vinnie def. GZWA TV Champion Equinox to become the NEW TV Champion
Before I talk about the match itself, I'm going to say a few things. About exactly a year ago come mid-December that's going to be a full year since the date I revived the Television Championship, along with the "defending on every broadcast" rule in effect. I wasn't a fan of the idea at all, but I threw a bone to everyone who tipped their name in the hat and were so adamant about having a midcard/middle tier title to shoot for. I gave those of you who begged for it a chance. I devoted my family time that I normally take off in December to do the tournament for the vacant TV title and even pushed Reinas back into the new year to accommodate for no complaints about being biased towards the women over the men in terms of an opportunity like this. From there, I gave those of you who pitched for it the floor to make it your own by giving out opportunities throughout the year. Some took the ball and ran with it, others not so much. Between this title and the Tag Team titles, I can't help but feel like there's a negative stigma about those titles. I could be wrong but that's the impression that I sensed since even before the Tag Team Classic last year when the Frosts & Bobbi Jackson beat Konrad Raab and Samuel Chatman for them. I don't know if it's the fact that we have women openly in every division (always going to be that way when we have more women outweighing the number of men here) or that there's people who rather go for the main title than the "underneath" titles. All I want to do when I book the cards if fill in people where they are needed and make sure people have something to do, especially when folks don't have storylines or established feuds. If you got a problem OOC with whoever I book you to face or to team up with or whether or not GZWA is a "serious" company or not (something that was tossed around a lot during the first half of the year), I've always asked for everyone to bring their concerns or questions to me. I want to be wrong about this impression about those titles and that's why I bring it up in this post-show discussion thread. I'm not trying to make anyone the bad guy nor point fingers. I just want to find out what's the problem and set to fix it for the New Year.
That being said, I applaud KingOfHighSpots for his work in the role over the past year. He promoted every defense on social media and went above and beyond to promote the hell of it while giving his best work as champion. It's not his fault nor anyone's here as I feel that I failed him in crafting the best narrative for his tenure as champion. I try to keep up with everyone's IC Twitter exchanges (even though they are NEVER required here) and I got intrigued by him and senorvinnie 's tweets while I was sick. That led to me changing the main even to a champion vs. champion match. No one's getting punished here - it was a match that these two wanted for some time now and I finally arranged it on the last show before the PPV.
Even though it was last minute notice before the extension, I thoroughly enjoyed reading the promos for this match from both Nox and Vinnie. Regardless of the result here, both of you have nothing to be ashamed of. As for the finish, I made Nox pass out to convey that he didn't submit nor give up - his body did. Something similar that I borrowed from strong outings that competitors such as Ember Moon and Nikki Cross had against Shayna Baszler. Nox can turn this around in the Chamber match if he's up for it and Vinnie has more motivation to keep on working hard as a dual title holder - the only roadblock is that both men have 4 more challengers to worry about in the season finale that really ups the stakes.
One thing is certain, Nox was the heart and soul of that title for the past year after it was revived. No one can take that fact away from him.
