The scene opens inside the Showtime mansion. Susan Rigger sits on the couch in the den watching TV as loud footsteps come marching down the hallway from the front door towards the room. The walking sounds angry, the clacking of heels against the floor as Bobbi Jackson comes marching into the living room and angrily tosses an opened package from FedEx at Susan Riggers head.
Bobbi: You just COULDN'T resist could you!?
Bobbi says in a loud accusing voice. The package whiffs just barely past it's target as Susan takes her feet off the coffee table and sits up straight.
Susan:
Couldn't resist what?
She looks over at the package, which now rests on the floor.
Bobbi:
Don't play stupid with me! That's your GZWA contract! I thought it was something for me, opened it and low and behold its YOURS!
Bobbi says in a huff. Obviously pist off.
Susan:
Ah, it finally arrived. I was beginning to wonder about that.
She reaches over and picks up the opened package, pulling the papers out.
Susan:
.....Mmhm, everything seems to be in order here.
The busty Britt places the papers down on the low table before her and pats the spot on the sofa next to her as she looks over at Bobbi.
Susan:
Sit down, please.
Bobbi at this point has her fists clenched. The blonde begins to grind her teeth as she walks towards the couch and sits down. Bobbi slowly breathes through her nose trying to calm herself, all the while staring a hole into the brunette. Susan slides an arm around Bobbi's shoulders and pulls her in close.
Susan:
Now then, tell me what's wrong. I thought you'd be glad to have someone around you can count on to back you up if need be.
Bobbi lets out a low growl before replying.
Bobbi:
You went behind my back and signed with GZWA to steal my spotlight. You claim you are there to have my back, if that is true you would have came and asked me if it was ok to join. Instead you just went ahead and did it...Not even caring to ask me what I would think about it!
Susan picks up the papers that were in the package, her contract with GZWA, and shows them to Bobbi.
Susan:
I haven't signed a thing yet and though they promised I'd be featured on the very next show if I do sign, I won't do it unless you're okay with it. Just through I'd be there for you faster this way. And sure, I'm not doing this out of perfectly altruistic reasons. I miss the ring too. Wrestling is what I was born to do, it's what I've worked to be the best I can be at my whole life.
She puts the papers back down and gently places a hand on Bobbi's chin, turning her head so that their gazes meet, her emerald eyes glimmering a bit.
Susan:
If you don't want me there I'll just rip these papers up right here and now. As much as wrestling means to me, you mean more.
Bobbi narrows her eyes at Susan. Clearly annoyed by the fact that Susan knows damn well that reverse psychology always works well on the blonde.
Bobbi:
You damn well know I wouldn't tell you to do that.
Susan:
Precisely why I figured it would be much more effective to have the papers here already so I can still get on the card.
She winks at Bobbi and plants a kiss on the blond beauty's cheek.
Susan:
And any time you need someone to have your back, you KNOW I'll be right there.
Bobbi just sighs and hangs her head, knowing damn well she's not going to argue this further. Its obvious Susan already has her mind made up. And the blonde wouldn't be able to deal with the guilt if she made her tear up the contracts. Susan pats her snugly fitting jeans' pockets, realizing she doesn't have anything to sign the papers with.
Susan:
Be a dear and hand me a pen, would you please.
Bobbi just shrugs. Looking down at her jeans herself.
Bobbi:
Does it look like I have a pen?
Susan rolls her eyes as she grabs the papers and stands up.
Susan:
Well it IS your house, I figured you'd know where you keep them. I think I saw one on the kitchen counter...
She heads out of the living room and into the kitchen, her eyes lighting up as she finds what she's looking for.
Susan:
Ah, there we go.
She grabs the pen and returns to Bobbi, hopping over the backrest of the sofa to plop back down next to the blond. Bobbi just leans back on the couch and stares at the television. Obviously not really wanting to give Susan much attention at this point. Susan damn well knows that this house is just as much hers as it is her own. A million smart ass remarks run through the blondes head but she chooses to just keep quiet. Susan signs the dotted lines on the papers in the blink of an eye with the practiced hand of a long time celebrity.
Susan:
And done. I'll call them a bit later to let them know everything is in order.
She turns to Bobbi and suddenly slips one arm under the blond's thighs and another around her lower back, lifting her off the couch and right onto her lap as she grins happily at her.
Susan:
It will be so nice working side by side again. I just know we'll blow the roof off the place.
Bobbi just rolls her eyes and mumble something that can't be made out. Its obvious Susan knows all the right buttons to press on her blonde friend and this situation proves it as the scene fades out to black.
