Royal Rumble 2011 Discussion & Spoilers

So who else saw the PPV last night? I honestly marked so hard when Santino ALMOST won the RR. I still don't see what's the big deal about Alberto Del Rio but if Papa Vince has confidence in him I'm willing to give him a chance. I'm more a fan of his work in Mexico under his masked gimmick than this Latino JBL gimmick.

Other than that, the PPV was full of WTF and just what in blue hell was creative thinking at moments.

- Eve being added to the Divas Championship match and upsetting LayCool and Natalya.

- Kelly Kelly of ALL people helping Edge to retain the WWE Championship.

- The Big Show jobbing out to Big Zeke, Diesel getting tossed out with ease, along with Morrison and Danielson during the RR match.

- Why waste a RR spot on HORNSWOGGLE of all people?

Only good things in this PPV we're
Dolph Ziggler vs. Edge - very good match DZ-future of WWE if they don't shit him up
Diesel - he and booker made biggest pops, should be in last 4
Booker T - biggest pop in da match, same thing as for diesel should be in last 4
And last 4 should be Del Rio, Randy Orton (instead of santino), Booker and Diesel
And yeah JoMo, that barricade escape from elimination was awesome
Now negatives:
1.Hornswoogle
2.Mason Ryan eliminating Booker (if anyone... at least main eventer should eliminate him)
3.Randy vs. Miz (horrible match in my opinion)
Divas match was ok

So my final PPV rate is 7.5 \ 10

Shine and Heat time!

Shine:

-John Morrison was the price of admission for me until the stupidity of the NexSES

-every Rumble needs a "gimmick". Last year it was Beth, this year it was Hornswoggle. I liked it because it was an unexpected alliance for Cena in what seems to be the year of factions for WWE

-Edge pulling off the Spear.

-Edge hitting the Unprettier (or Killswitch if you prefer) leaving us wondering if it means anything at all or if a reunion/feud is in the works

-Santino getting a looooong overdue high-profile spot

Heat:

-WTF was Eve doing there? I understand she needs something to do but come on! WWE would have been better served setting up an impromptu Championship Scramble match, or some kind of elimination match (this IS the Royal Rumble after all) and either have Natalya retain with Beth turning heel on her ass. OR, have Gail win and Kong do a run-in or stage interrupt to set up a feud there.

-Booker and Big Sexy have signed Legends contracts. TREAT THEM AS SUCH! Mason Ryan taking out Booker and Nash basically eliminating himself after wandering around the ring looking at pretty colours is not the way to treat them!

-there is no way on this earth or any other that a 7' 3', 450 lb man should get SQUASHED! 'nuff said.

-having two complete factions in one Rumble and making sure that there is at least 10 entrants between them is great booking WWE! Kudos!

-no Beth in the Rumble

They replaced Matt Stryker with Booker on SD commentary this week. Not bad for his first week, but can't wit til the new job jitters are gone.
