(The camera fades from black to a scene of a hiking trail up a steep grade, up a steep mountain. The day is beautiful, not a cloud in the sky, there is a slight breeze as the grasses to each side of the trail are slightly moving in the wind. A figure moves up the trail walking at a steady pace despite the fact the slope grade is steep. There are low lying shrubs and stunted trees covering the mountain which plains of tall weeds and grass where the shrubs and stunted trees are. The trees are sparse. The camera pans closer to the figure walking up the trail and we see that it is Vespertine. She is dressed in brown hiking boots, khaki shorts, a blue baby T shirt with the words “Baby Phat” on it. A small camelback backpack is on her back and she wears a red bandana on her head and has black sunglasses on. She continues to walk up the slope but it gets steeper but her stride doesn’t change. She starts talking as she walks.)
V: This is a steep grade. This is my journey to the top. My first match in was easy. Second match in I stumbled a little bit. Third match I don’t plan on losing my way again. I don’t plan on stumbling. And yet I have 3 opponents in the ring with me. I don’t have a tag team partner this time. My opponents are Amanda, Serena and Molly.
(she stops at the trail and when she looks up, the trail looks even steeper than when she started.)
V: My trail to the top looks hard. This is because my opponents are hard. Amanda is a Goddess, Serena is a dangerous opponent, like me and Molly is a veteran of this sport. You know at this point, I feel I should quit right now. I have no help in this match. I have only adversity. But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I don’t plan on being second best in this match, I plan on being first or not at all. Serena is the person I most have to look out for. Like me she is underhanded, conniving and not above breaking the rules to get what she wants. I’m not going to rule out Amanda either. We have had our words in the past and our styles of wrestling and thinking are very different. I have seen her wrestle. She isn’t the best but I have to keep an eye on her because she could easily get the win in this match.
(she sighs but continues walking)
V: And Molly is starting to become a rival to me. She thinks she has a power over me because she has a win over me. Well as soon as this match starts, we will have to see who has the most power. I don’t think Amanda has any. I don’t think Molly is that powerful. I think I have to watch Serena at all times. Ooops
(she steps aside as two hikers, a couple, come down the trail. She smiles at them as they go by, they smile at her back.)
V: Where was I? There are too many factors in this match and yet not too many factors. There are too many people and yet not too many people in this match. There are too many facts and yet not too many facts. I could singly talk about all of you. I could individually talk about Mandy and how I will dominate and defeat her in the ring. I could individually talk about Serenity and how I will beat her the blue hell down in the ring and dominate her. I could talk about Molly and how she is not in the same league as me and how I can beat her ass all over the arena but that would defeat the purpose of this. My aim here is not to tell you what I’m going to do or how I’m going to do it. My aim here is get to the top of that mountain. I don’t plan on just beating or winning or prevailing. I plan to go past. I don’t plan on stopping in this match until I have taken all the bruises that each women has given me and have given back to them even harder. I need to show these three women and everyone in GZWA that I’m here to stay and I’m here to go straight to the top. Molly, Serenity, Mandy, you want to take this match outside the ring, so be it. You want to go extreme, I was trained in being extreme by a mentor of mine in another federation. You three want to go hardcore, I have done that too. You want to go technical? Molly may come close to being technical but nobody comes close to me. You want to fly around the ring and jump off ladders and ringposts? Go right ahead, I’ll be right there beside you matching each of you move for move.
(she comes up around on a corner of the mountain and as she goes around, the view changes from that of country, mountain, to the skyline of San Francisco, Ca. The view envelopes all of the Bay all the way to the North Bay to Tiburon, to the East Bay towards Oakland. The fog is gone so the camera can see all the way to the East Berkeley Hills. She stops a second, takes out a water and chugs a few swallows. She then continues walking.)
V: This is an uphill battle for me. I’m the newest one here. I’m the least liked person but I’m also the most well rounded and probably the fastest in the ring. Of course right about now I’m thinking Mandy is the least well liked person in this federation. (shrugs) So be it. I want you, all of you, Serena, Molly, Mandy that all you are merely stepping stones for me in this match and whether I win or lose over any of you, you will NOT stop my ascent to the top of this federation. The journey is long and the obstacles many but whether I win or lose this match, I will get right back up, dust myself off and continue my journey to the top of GZWA.
(she comes to a short steep incline and stops and sighs. There are bushes on either side of the trail so we can’t see where she is.)
V: The last few yards signify that my journey is almost over. I stand at the top of the mountain. I stand over the fallen bodies of Mandy, Serenity and Molly.
(she starts the climb and she takes a few steps. She slowly goes up and as the camera pans from in front of her to behind her, seeing that the trail up the mountain was rugged as her lower back is shining in the sun from the sweat on her abs. She rises a crest and stands at the very top. She stops and looks around, spreads her arms out and inhales deeply. She raises her head to the sky and closes her eyes. The camera comes up behind her and we can see the Pacific Ocean in the shot. A few slivers of land that point out to the ocean adorn either side of the camera but then the camera pans down and around and we can see Highway 1 and the beach miles below her as well as the steep descent down the side of the mountain. The camera pans back to her and by now she has opened her eyes and has her hands on her hips. She goes to the side of the trail and sits down on a huge boulder that seems to be strategically placed there. A gust of wind blows up and whips her hair a little bit as well as the bandana on her head then settles down again. She looks out to the ocean. She then looks down to Highway 1 at the bottom of the mountain.)
V: I’ll get up there in the upper echelon of GZWA sometime and I know when I’m up there, I’ll look down and I’ll know that, like this trail, it will be a long way down. But on my way up, I will stand over the fallen bodies, I will stand on the stepping stones that is Mandy, Serenity and Molly and know that I have come far and that I also have far to go. In the end, all three women of GZWA will feel death by diva.
(she crosses her legs and sits Indian style. She sits for a few minutes and looks around, at times we see the shean of sweat that has appeared on her neck and forehead from the exertion. She looks at her watch and then looks back out at the view)
V: See you in the ring ladies.
(the camera pans back from her and then fades to black)
